I'm more into playing modern stuff. I tend to hear a song I like, and start learning the riff until I can go on from there. I know most Coldplay songs off by heart, as well as John Lennon's 'Imagine' and 'Mad World' (The Jules/Andrews version which got xmas no.1 2003). Thanks to the website, I also now can play razorlight's 'Golden Touch', and i'm trying to learn 'The Importance Of Being Idle' off by heart, but i'm not quite there. I'd love to be in a band...
I hope you have music lessons at school?
Unless you choose to take music as a subject in sixth form, you don't get any lessons of it... bit of a bummer, I used to enjoy music

That was the same for me when I was at school, Music had to be dropped so I could do History and Geography.

Yeah, had to drop it for art and English :-\\
I think it would be great to be in a band. Just to be able to get people to hear your music, get your message across. The only problem is, i'm the only one out of my friends who can decently play an instrument. The closest my other friends come is "one of them can play God Save The Queen... badly". Not to mention, we need a baassist, drumme and lead vocalist. Shame... and no, I would not like to be a solo artist ::)

Music is good. With music, you can communicate with anybody no matter their native tongue. If someone sang a song to me in japanese, but it was a good song, i'd be just as impressed as I would if it had been a well-written english song. That's what I would like to do one day. I'm young, there's plenty of time. You're never ever too old for music (not even when you're dead, as elvis has shown us!)

That one was a remix though. It was updated for today's sound. There was also the Oakenfold Remix of Rubberneckin'
The other ones were the original 50's and 60's songs :)

Here's a little music trivia:
Although he had over a dozen charting albums, Bob Marley was technically a one hit wonder in America. His 1976 song Roots, Rock, Reggae reached #51 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and was his only charting single in America

A Little Less Conversation was still the original Elvis voice, originally written in 1968 for elvis' film Live A Little Love A Little by revived for Ocean's Eleven in 2001

Here's some more music trivia:
In the UK, Status Quo have (of course) had so many hits, they are now legends. In America, they only had 2 hits: First with "Pictures of Matchstick Men" in 1968 (which was their only top 40 hit) and last with "Ice in the Sun" in 1968
The strange part: Their only charting album was their self-titled one from 1976. It peaked at #148 on the Billboard Album Charts

http://www.inthe00s.com/index.php/topic,13745.msg657304/topicseen.html#msg657304
Which gives as the last six digits 657304, I had previously taken note earlier in the day, what I call the reply number, and waited.
For example, the 999990 posting the latest message as 657294.
Taking the current reading of 625851, it is less than 657304, this accounts for the replies/posting that have been deleted or removed.

Very philosophical man. It's the cinderella effect. If minute things changed in our world, big things would change and it would be a
big "what if" to worry about it all. I got an ear full of this in church on sunday. If the size of protons changed over time, and the size of neutrons changed over time, it would reconstruct everything as we know it...or deconstruct in some cases

Firstly salvation is:
a) Preservation or deliverance from destruction, difficulty, or evil.
b) A source, means, or cause of such preservation or deliverance.

Without having read the Epic mentioned, I take YWN's word for it that there is no reference to salvation. And it's hard finding something that apparently isn't there, right? Unless you can come up with a different/better answer... :-\\

maybe there is not a specific mention of the word salvation in the text. More that you are supposed to think about the story and what it might tell us about how Gilgamesh found salvation.

That's really what it is...
I came up with kind of a half-assed answer about how Utnapishtim heard the god Ea whispering to him through the reeds about the flood and how Utnapishtim saved himself with that carefully obtained information... I don't think it's right though.

Come to think of it, doesn't every mythology mention some kind of major flood? I recall reading my Greek mythology book, and it even mentioned a big flood with only one guy and his family spared.

I was sitting in the computer seat when I saw her running past the sliding glass door with a big bird in her mouth. I told my mom and we both went out and she made her spit it out. She's killed a few birds before but I think the other ones were babies and this one was full grown.
My mom kept saying "Bad cat!" and I was like "Hey, that's what cats do..."

French is supposedly derived from latin, and in French, the verbs come before the nouns, (I think). Maybe the same happens when you're translating Latin?...

Another problem...
Latin phrase:  Me vitare turbam iubes.
My translation:  I avoid my crowds I order.
Not only does this not make any sense, but the structure of a Latin sentence is supposed to be subject, object, and verb (SOV), but the main verb in this sentence (vitare) comes right after the subject (me).  ???
Is nbsp a Latin word now?

Have you read Bill Bryson's book Down Under? He has quite a good attempt at explaining cricket via the way radio cricket commentators talk about it.
