This is a perfect example of being respectful towards someone whether or not you're like they are. From what I can tell, you seem like one of the nicest people on here, too.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna be slightly biased since I became friends with Donnie and like alot of those types of threads. Although I'd still feel the same way if I didn't. I'm not asking anyone to change their views. It's cool if someone doesn't like nitpicky threads or Decadeology. Everyone is different and that's perfectly okay, but to attack the person directly or to negate the good in them just because they talk about something you don't like -- that's what I feel is wrong.

Corny as it sounds, having some respect and tolerance really makes the world a better place, imo.

I'm sure we've all been teased for something in our lives (myself included), and that's not a good feeling. I almost got in a fight more than once, defending some kids in school when they got bullied, so I guess I feel for people in that situation. Even when people got on Donnie's case, he handled it well and usually even joked around with it. That's not an easy thing to do.

In the long run they didn't really bother me either; I just had no interest in them, that's all. He actually did have a few threads that were not repetitive (other than this one)...such as "Funny names, simpson style."

Interesting you should say this...I used to not care one way or the other because I thought he was mostly harmless.  But with the recent "reincarnation" of the Darko, it seems as if he is deliberately hammering the site and showing defiance, and I have heard through the grapevine that he actually announces his intentions before he does and makes no effort to veil his schemes.  So he fits the classic profile of the forum troll if you ask me.  Not that he can't still be ignored, but y'know how that is... ;)

yes it was Donnie again.  He's been hanging around more, and he's asked me a few times to lift the ban in the past week, so the different IP didn't fool me.

Generally when we ban here, we ban for good. We've rarely made exceptions.

as for his behavoir, well, even when asking to be let back in, he's basically doing the same thing that got him banned.  Multiple threads in every board, lots of off topic posts in threads, etc.  Taken individualy, yes, most people have done that one time or another.  However in Donnie's case, it's the ONLY thing he does.

That said, I think calling him a troll might be a little harsh.  Trolls usually are quite aware of what they are doing, and are intentionally trying to stir people up.  I think DD just has OCD or something.

^ Even so, you may have to put up some Billy Goats Gruff for that guy eh?  ;)

He knew what he was doing, and after many warnings, he kept doing it.  He seemed like a somewhat smart guy, so I believe that he wanted to be banned

His problem was he thrived on drama....and, like H, he could tear someone to shreds, but couldn't handle when they responded in kind or simply didn't respond.
