My husbands parents are coming to stay for the weekend.  They should be getting there in the next hour or so.

My son will be three tomorrow and I haven't wrapped his presents yet so I will be doing that tonight.  Plus sorting out party bags and things for the party on Saturday.

A friend of mine has got involved with the police over some drugs and for some reason they want to have a word with me about a couple things. I am sure they just want me to Dob him out which i refuse to do because he is innocent and i certianley am. Also another friend (this one is a v.close friend) is in debt to about i guess at the current rate nearly $1000 to a 'shady' individual. Once again i am involved although not much here.. so i am trying my hardest to work out the full story here and see what's going on.

Today I had initially planned on going to the college to do some more volunteer work, but my dad suggested that I stay home today, after the train wreck that happened yesterday. He worked from home today. Even though the trains leaving from here were all scheduled to run as normal, it was probably best that I stayed home. So I did just that, and I called my supervisor and informed her that I wouldn't be coming in; and I also mentioned that I'd probably come back next Friday afternoon. The spring semester begins on Monday, and since I will be back in class, the only "free" day I'll have is Friday.

I'm off to work in a minuete but beat this.. i have nearly a three quater inch long cut on my face.. when i was shavein' i slipped and the razor went sideways.. LMAO it still hasn't stopped bleeding and i did it like nearly an hour ago ;D

Later on today I will be getting my hair cut for the first time in two and a half months. For 13 years I was visiting this one hairstylist (who has worked at a various number of salons over the years; in 2002 she began working at one that's within walking distance of the university), but last summer she went on maternity leave. Now she's back, but only works on Sundays because she stays home during the week to take care of her baby. So now I'm visiting one closer to my home.

My youngest is three today.

I'm going to fetch him from nursery in a moment and then we can go and open his presents.  Mean mummy wouldn't let him this morning.  We'd never have got to nursery otherwise.

Still got things to sort for the party tomorrow.  I think we'll just veg on Sunday and go out somewhere for lunch.  My family will be coming round for tea in the afternoon.

Well tomorrow (i know it breaks the rules a bit but i might be asleep then  ;D) i am going to take my i.pod to the apple store and demand they fix it properly.. it has gone haywire 4 times now since christmas.. there is mos def something wrong with it.. this time it froze up completley and no matter what i did it just wwouldn't respond. It is still sitting there on the same screen with it's LCD display glowing.. it should run the battery down soon though.. hopefully.

Today we went out to a Mexican restaurant and had a late lunch, then over to the mall to walk around and get some exercise. While we were at the mall I stopped at See's Candies to pick up some chocolate hearts for Valentine's Day. Then we came home. My dad's not feeling too good at the moment.

I went to the local grocery store where they were having a customer appreciation day and ate like six pieces of free pizza. ;D I also got a new CD by Sanctus Real.

I got a CD player for when my mp3 player isn't working and made a CD to use in it. I'm gonna buy a CD tomorrow.

My son and I hung out this evening. It is our version of Family Night. A real cool thing happened though... we actually got to talk to my husband online tonight. He had a few minutes before he had to patrol or something (Of course he cant really tell us anything, all the Top Secret Crap) so he hopped online. It was awesome because my son rarely gets to talk to his dad. Most times he is in bed by the time his dad gets online.
Obviously, this made our entire day!!!!  ;) :)

Woke up early (7)...went to the store. On the way home I noticed a car that had hit the curd head on....it was abandoned and partly in the main road....so I checked, the keys were in it and I started it and moved it off to the side. I drove home and called police to let them know. Then I posted here :D Since it's another week to go before the Super Bowl, I'll probably watch a tapes of Denvers Back To Back Super Bowls wins from 1998 and 1999 :)

I'm going to laze around the house.  I've finally succumbed to the flu that is making it's rounds at work.  :(

Not a lot. I did some video editing (I am getting a decent collection of 80s pop videos ripped from VH1 Classics - cool  8)). Played a bit of Championship Manager 4 to get me ready for the next game and am still desperately waiting for WWE Wrestlemania 21 for the X-Box. I hope it lives up to my expectations.

Yesterday, I began my spring semester; today I went to two of my classes. (I have one later on.) When I went to this "modern dance" class yesterday, I found out it was gonna be boring (at least that was my impression of it), so I figured I'd drop it. So I found a possible replacement class (which meets on Monday/Wednesday), but the problem is, it would overlap with a Wednesday class I'm currently enrolled in. So I had to play a little game of switcheroo (i.e., I had to move some classes around). I was able to move one class this morning, but the other one will have to wait.

LOL...

My grandmothers Grandmother was Irish Catholic and they moved to the states a long time ago. If i could remember there name i'm sure they have taken part in some good riots if the rest of us are anything to go by.

Of course if you look far back enough you can find all sorts of odditys... I seem to have picked up a lot of the strong genes, i have the dark hair and teeth of the Sioux (and it is noticable) i also keep a tan for a very long time and go dark during the summer.

Then.. drink and drink and drink and drink and drink and drink and fight! ;D

I downloaded Beatles songs...I now have the first 4 British LP's....too bad it takes my computer about 20 minutes to download a 3 minute song :P Later tonight I'm going to talk with a very special person in my life :)

I know... but I don't quite remember because the professor didn't hand out a syllabus on the first day; she said that it would be available online, but it's not there yet. I'll check again later. My parents didn't think I'd enjoy it.

By the way, I didn't officially "add" that art class, because the professor said the class was full. So I was one of three people waiting to add. He had us write our names and e-mail addys on a sheet of paper, so we could be notified if anyone drops the class and it opens up a seat. I couldn't try another session of that class, because the only other Monday-Wednesday session overlaps with a class that I'm determined to keep, and I didn't want to add another class for Tuesday-Thursday. But I did stay for the class today.

I had only 4 in the second and...late in the 4th quarter I came down after being fouled and feel on my wrist...I went to the hospital and my season is over. I broken a bone in my wrist and am home now....feeling no pain! Love those pain killers....oh yeah...my team won 94-76 ;)

Today the BBC are in my lab filming part of a documentary.  They should be here most of the day.


Bit of self-promotion here but who cares.  The documentary that was filimed in my lab will be on TV next Thursday BBC2 at 9.00 p.m.

Developing peoples photos

This morning I was up at 5am and worked (broken wrist and all)...until 11. I ran some errands this afternoon and now I'm having dinner...later the pain pills for a long comfy night sleep :)

Started to paint a closet. This closet was VERY pink, green and had a bit of Care Bears wallpaper.  :o  The green wasn't too bad because it was kind of a soft green but I'm not too sure what was worse, the pink or the Care Bears. But, it is white now.  ;D (probably have to do a second coat)

Took the little one to IHOP for breakfast.  I got an omelet so big I had to bring half home for lunch...it was yummy, though.

Then we went to the bank to deposit a check into my Girl Scout troop's account, and my daughter got two cookie sales from the people working at the bank. 

After that it was shoe store where I bought a cute pair of high heeled sandals.  Then library and on home.

I went to church. I'm working on a project now. And then later I'm going to watch the Eagles lose in the Superbowl. ;D

Well . . . I was having a kick-about with the lad (playing knock-out - do you remember that?) where we had to kick a ball with one shot at a wall and if it went over the wall, the ball hit you on reflection or if you didn't hit the wall, you lost. Well, the ball went over the wall and I scrambled over it (it was only little as well) and . . . I fell over and got a wet arse.

Got no sympathy from the missus who laughed. She made me a cup of tea from a flask so I was happy.  :)

Who in their right mind paints a closet pink ???




I have no idea. And it is a HOT Pink at that, too.  ::) It was like that when we were living up there about 4 years ago. We weren't really using that room so we didn't bother to fix it then. What I think happened, the Care Bears wallpaper came first. Then someone decided they didn't want that so they started to strip the paper but never did complete it. Then started painting it pink. I think the green came after the pink. It just seemed like there were two or three different projects that never were completed. Now, it is going to be ALL white. When we lived up there, the bathroom was the same way-tri-color. And it seemed like each color was worse than the first.

There have been so many people living in this house over the course of many, many years. Since I moved in (in 1998), there had been 4 families (plus us) living down here, and 3 families (plus us) living upstairs. It seems like each one left their mark on this house or left something behind. Some we liked, some we didn't. At least this family didn't leave gum on every floor like one family did.  ::) Who knows how many before I came into the picture. But Carlos has been living in this house since 1986. NO MORE TENANTS!!! 

Hopefully, things will finished enough to start moving some stuff upstairs in the next couple of weeks. Which brings me to what I am going to do today-hopefully, finish that closet and then work on the trim in the rest of the room. Carlos started painting the room.

I'm gonna try again to add one of the two classes. The professor for the art class had said last Wednesday that the class was full, but hopefully someone will drop so that I can get in there. Tomorrow i will try again to add the physics lab.

Update on my class schedule... I got a permission code from my physics lab professor, so I can add the class! (Actually, move it. I officially have the class on Wednesday but am moving it to Tuesday so I can make way for the art class.)

Missed work because the little one woke up with a bad tummy ache.  It got better and she asked to go to school so I took her but didn't go to work.  I decided I needed a ME day.  I renewed my drivers license and not much else.

Glad you had a nice time.  I chaperoned one trip with my daughter's class when she was about 9.  We went to the Science Centre and then to the Art Gallery.  The attendant at the Gallery warned us that there was a photographic exhibition that was not suitable for children so, of course, the kids spent the whole afternoon trying to sneak into the exhibition.  I was exhausted  by the time I got home.

Anyway today I've got a huge pile of washing and ironing to attend to.  I'm going to lunch with friends.  Have to go to Mass as it's Ash Wednesday.  I've got to go to a meeting at school tonight.

I am on so many painkillers that i am not tired...

In short i ain't having much fun. Luckily, i got a form through the post today and i can make an appontment to have some minor surgery done to my knee. Basically they are just gonna tweak some stuff because the Ligament is fairly well healed, the reason that it's hurting so damn much is that is it pulling on other muscles.

With any luck i can get the surgery in the next month and be on my feet a week after i have it done.

Carlos has an appointment in town and we are going early so we can do some shopping.

Well, I still didn't get the art class officially added. The professor still says that the class is full, and he'll contact us by email if someone drops. I did make my presentation on the first project in that class today, even though I'm not officially in it yet.

I just had a very bad time watching restlessly and powerless as my team lost 83-80 :-\\ Now I'm nearly ready for bed as I need to wake up early for work :D

Quite busy at work at the moment making sure I've finished everything before I go on holiday next week.  I was already busy and then a senior colleague came in with a load more to be sorted by the end of the week.  ::)

I slept until 1PM which is just what i needed to do. I am going to call the Hospital and find out what kind of timescale i am looking at if i have this surgery done. I also need to buy a new TV Aerial but maybe that can wait until Saturday.

Which reminds me...we plan on doing some more painting at home downstairs, but we don't know when we're gonna do it. We started this project back in October (actually, it was August when we started measuring the walls to see how much paint we'd need), but we haven't been able to continue, due to what's been goin' on with us.

I did manage to get away with only a little painting. Two problems: 1. Not enough paint and we can't get out to get more. 2. We think it is the paint because it is not really covering so we think we should go with a different kind of paint-acrylic maybe.

Well I am sort of busy, with this being the second week of the Spring semester, but I am taking some time off; I can't be studying all the time. ;) Right now I'm just on the computer.

I woke up at 5 for work...had 3 routes this morning. Then I went in to turn in my route sheets, hoping to get home and shower but...they called a meeting. Anyway, that took another hour so by the time I got home, since it was so nice out....I went for a run. Actually made it for 4 miles and didn't have a heart attack :o Got home...slammed a 32 ounze glass of water...not too cold....and finally had my shower. I just finished watching Magnum P.I. and now I'm here :D

...JUST when I thought it was safe to relax...my big dog Radar (Lab mix) and Penny, my tiny poodle guilted me to take them for a walk...which turned into a 2 mile run! It's a good thing I enjoy showers :D

My girlfriend came from hospital today after having her appendix removed. I felt really guilty because I have a virus (biological this time) and stressed at work as a result and have not really been the best welcoming committee. I have been feeling very sorry for myself even though my girlfriend has more justification to feel worse.

ooooohhhh, I would NOT recommend painting with acrylic unless you can open up the house.  What color are you painting over & what color are you painting?  I used to work at a paint store...I can give you a couple of tips ;)



The old stuff is like an eggshell (at least it is not hot pink  ;)) and the new stuff is white.  Any help you can give us, we will be grateful.

No, not $410000...although that would be nice.  A 401K is a retirement account that I have about $6000 in.

Update being I have my job back.  It seems the insurance guy realized that he wouldn't have any clients anymore because everyone was dropping the ins so he changed things a little.  He is letting us all close out our 401K accounts and he is also looking for cheaper insurance.  Plus the boss is paying for part of it. 

It will still be a rough few months, but I will have that $5000 (after penalties) for a cushion.

I am very glad I have the job back.  I did not want to leave there.  I have been with that company for over 9 years and I love it there.  It felt so good to get the keys to the building and the office back.

I also donated blood today.  Scared my daughter when I picked her up...she thought something horrible had happened to me because of the size of bandaid they had put on my arm. ;D
