We took down our outside lights last weekend; we're gonna take down everything else this weekend, and that includes undecorating the tree.

I guess it depends on how many decorations you had to take down as to how much time it takes and how superstitious you are about when they should be taken down.  It only took half an hour to do last night (and that was with the children 'helping').  We still need to put them away behind our wardrobe though.

In my house there's only three of us---my mom, my dad, and me. We all help. It doesn't take a mighty long time for us to put them away, but taking down the lights does take a while since we have to wind up the string carefully and place it back in the box.

I had the distinct pleasure of taking down the decorations this year.. i found one end of the lights and put it under the leg of the coffee table and then spent like 20 minuets walking backwards through the house untangleing and unraveling them lol

Well I always figure out how to untangle them so they can fit back in the box nicely and stay protected. But even at that, they still manage to get tangled up again when you take 'em out of the box again 11 months later. In fact, last month my mom and I were trying to decorate the tree with this brand-new string and we were having a hard time since we had to untwist the string.

Well.. i got up at 11... woooooow yeh... hooverd, put the washing in, made lunch for me and my mom, moved the computer upstairs, set up the computer, screwd around with the circuit board, walked the d-o-double g, called dell, called windows, moved some boards and rafters in to the attic, sorted out my radio and finally changed 3 lightbulbs.. busy me

Diners club is a group of young adults in their 20s and 30s who meet once a month at a restaurant to socialize in a lively, upbeat social setting. We meet at a different restaurant on the first Saturday of each month.

See.. that's nice.. i wish we had things like that hear.

There are no like social clubs or anything as far as i know.. LOL i did see an advert for a swingers 'club' ;).

I am going to go to work in about an hour. :P Not very thrilling, I'd rather stay home.

I wish i had to go to work.. Unemployment rots major ass big time.

I think depression is setting in.. because like i have called up about 50 jobs nearly.. and not got anywhere and i just sit around listening to progressivly older music (because i have listend to the stuff before) and letting the empty bottles pile up.

However.. i am sure i have already said.. but like in May/June or maybe even sooner i am moving to St Louis.. big move.. 3500 miles.. and i am doing more job hunting tomorrow. We shall see.

I overslept a little bit today.  Two late nights finishes me off.  I sat up late Sunday watching a Beach Boys documentary and went to the pub last night then watched Best of Top Gear.

I took my two to school and nursery just about on time.  James decided to go dressed as Spiderman today (he had the costume for Christmas).

Today I've got to figure out a way of politely turning down some people who volunteered to become trained job assessors.  Turns out I'm only allowed to nominate three people and five volunteered!

There's a meeting tonight I ought to go to for planning a show put on by the scout groups in the district.  It's the first time I've done this and it's been quite a few years since the district has done one so I'm not too sure how its going to work.

Well my interview went well.. i think.. They told me that they would give me a call by the end of tomorrow at the latest.. whereas they told one of the others that they would call him by the end of the week.. MAYBE... so i guess he wont get it lol.

Nothing more to do which is great.. just look after my ma and see to it that she is comfy.

No much today, resting and shaking off the flu and sore throat I have.

That's great. I started out as a cashier, but now work in the office as the boss's assistant. Doing payroll and yucky year ending tax stuff! The part I hate the most is the quarter ending and year ending taxes, it's a huge pain!  :P  Today is my day off, so I hope to do nothing today!

Hoo hah.. i will get Wednesday & Thursday off because i will be working from the morning until the evening Monday, Tuesday & Friday...  however i hope to be able to pick up some overtime on those days

Well now.. I decided to keep the i.pod.. i figure if i am gonna move it makes sense to have all my music in one place then i can do with it what i want. Soooo i am putting all my music on and downloading around 300 tracks at the moment lol.. seeing as my hard drive was wiped and then my i.pod was wiped.. i think the big man is sending a message.. don't download illegally LOL

Lol. The main reason I don't download so much these days is because it's difficult to get the quality of the music I like (e.g 128 bit-rate is okay, 192 is good and 320 is about the best). Most of my music is 320, which may not be neccessary for most people (plus the files are bigger, average size of 128 bit-rate file is 3000kb, 192 is around 5100kb and 320 can be around 9,000kb - some difference).

When you have a 10/20/40gb hard drive in your MP3, it is much better to get better quality tracks.  :)

Yeah.. i have no record of them however because of the hard drive problems as well..

Meh my day has been very dull.. put it this way the highlight was going to the tip.. actually saying that i saw this girl i really like in the chemist.. she works there.. my throat is sore i think i need some strepsils  ;)

Today I did more organizing and cleaning up around the house...I have yet to tackle the kids room though.... :o

Here is an idea for you to consider.. my ma did it and it worked...

"Andrew, i am going out for 2 hours when i get back i am going to clean up your room.. if you want to keep it put it away"

Needless to say as a young kid i wanted to keep everything and really didn't want to try and call her bluff.. thus i put pretty much everything away (although not in too good a fashion).. maybe your kids are a bit more clued up than i was  ;D

That idea might work for my 9-year-old, but I'm afraid my 4-year-old is too young to understand...and of course most of the mess is his.  :-\\

Well i was up until 4:30 AM Today.. so i was a little bit tired. But i haven't got to do much today... just sort out the i.pod.

Just had a lab meeting today discussing current plans and future work one of the groups.  Three people all need access to the same work area so we've been sorting that out.

A piece of equipment came back from being repaired with some essentials connections missing!  So now we've got to wait for them to be returned.

I've got a meeting this afternoon with the equalities officer to discuss union involvement in various committees.  Currently its zero so I expect she will be looking for some.  Since I'm the only female on our union committee I expect it will be down to me again  ::)

Need to start tidying the house tonight.  We have visitors coming this weekend and then at the end of the month my son will have a third birthday party here and the grandparents will be staying for the weekend.  The dining room is currently unusable so we'd better crack on.

I did too...volunteer work, that is. When I go in next week, I should be finished entering all the records into this database I've created; I have about 22 or so to go. When that's all done I will work on making the application user-friendly, and I will show my supervisor what I've done.

I think we are gonna have a Jam session in a bit.. Pete is gonna bring his guitar round, i am gonna set some of the old drums up and sort out the amp and speakers and get the mic up and then just rock out for the rest of the day.. don't know yet.

I think one of them is in.. it dosen't matter the guy next door has a band and plays until 11-12 every Thursday.. i figure, i do it in the day they can't complain. I have to see if they have all gone to school or anything today before i know anyway..

We always churn out some fairly crazy sheesh as well..Always a couple of Slayer tracks but they have to be kind of toned down because i dont know a single person who can play that fast. Download the Slayer track 'Final Command' and imagine it about a third of that speed and a crap drum player LOL.

Rush and I have been gone since last Saturday night. A pipe burst somewhere in our apartment block and flooded the floors below, including ours. We were asked to evacuate, so we've been in a hotel. Luckily, our apartment didn't suffer as much damage as some others so we were one of the first to be given the all clear to return today. So if anyone's been wondering... that's where I've been. What are we going to do now? Start doing some cleaning up and get totally sh*tfaced!!!!!!!!! :D

Went to aqua aerobics.  Came home and had brekkie.  Went shopping and bought a new vacuum cleaner.  Vacuumed for hours!  Cooked all afternoon for dinner party.  Had 8 people over for dinner.

Today I'm probably going to do what I didn't do yesterday: mow the lawn, take my little dog for a walk (by the way, tomorrow will be the second anniversary of the day we adopted her), wash some clothes...

Speaking of vacuum cleaners, we have this bagless one that does a really good job cleaning the floor; we purchased it almost one year ago, but last month it started acting strange, so we took it in to get it repaired, and eventually we had to replace one of the parts on it.

Helped my sister move into her new house.  She had to move a week early because her roof collapsed from all the snow they got.  Luckily no one was home but the dogs, and they were ok although they were not impressed by the events of the day.

I went for a walk today....I am trying to just run every OTHER day as I'm so old ::)  I watched the Steelers move on to the AFC Championship game next week vs the Patriots/Colts winner. Now I'm watching the Falcons/Rams. Oh and of course I've been posting :D

Today we ended up going out for lunch at a restaruant by the Channel Islands Harbor, then over to Coldstone to get some yummy ice cream. It was beautiful outside today; no rain, clouds, or nothing like that; just sunny. Not too hot; not too cold.

Not much but will go for a walk very soon.

Tried to get a repairman to sort my phone fault out. There is an intermitent fault on the line so sometimes it works and sometimes it dosen't.. it's a real pain in the ass.

Said goodbye to a very sweet lady early this morning...just for a few days though :)

Had breakfast at my parents house, and am now watching the Vikings/Eagles game....later it's Colts/Patriots.

This morning we went to church and then had lunch out; later we are going to celebrate our little dog's "adoption" day: today marks the two-year anniversary of when we adopted her.

Well now... last night i ran 2 miles and then did 50 Push ups and 100 sit ups.. but i think i strained a stoumach muscle because i have pain there now. Oh well. Today i will do aboot twice that much in my new.. Torture yourself until your fit regime.
Try crunches instead of full sit ups! Also don't put your hands behind your head (If you do)..cross your arms on your chest. I like to do sets of 8 in 3 separate directions...left, center and right. I'd start with no more than 3 reps and work your way up. Take it easyand let your body slowly get into shape. I have the same problem when I start to run. Sometimes after 2 miles I like to just keep going...if I go for 7...to the cemetary and back, then I pay for it :P

Had my ceramics student over for her lesson, took my daughter to pick out a birthday present for a friend of hers, shopped for food at Costco and now I'm finally getting to relax and catch up on the board.  :)

Went to church.  At the beginning of third service (I serve in the toddler nursery) I was holding a baby who was crying because her mom had just dropped her off when a 3 yr old came over to me and told me she bit her tongue.  I put my arm around her to comfort her and she puked all over me.  Needless to say I left church early, came home and took a loooong hot shower.  Poor baby is ok, her orange juice had upset her stomach.

Mmmmmm Olive Garden...


We have one near our house that we like to go to. But we don't go there too often; many times we see people sitting/standing outside the building waiting for a table...the place must be popular. We love Italian food. :)

Today we basicly stayed home; it was a holiday. My mom went out in the morning to Curves, where she frequently exercises, then to the supermarket to pick up some groceries. We had planned on going out to the beach to take a walk, but it was too windy; also, I'm trying to get over a sore throat (and what I hope is not an infection). I did some vacuuming upstairs and some yard work (for the first time in several weeks). I also read my MS Access books in detail some more so I can do more volunteer work this week.

Taking it easy today, keeping warm, for I return to work tomorrow.

Soon I'm off to my parents house to put insulation in thier attic.

I start my Speech class today...NOT looking forward to it :P  Then, I have to come home, make some phone calls, do some laundry, take the middle one to karate, feed the kiddos, then go to a Cub Scout meeting tonight that I am also NOT looking forward to :P

I had a good day at work today and have managed to get some overtime for Thursday... excellent more $$ for me

I woke at 1:00 a.m., wondering why I was so cold, went back to sleep, woke up again at 5:30 freezing my butt off, only to find, the furnace was out  >:(  It was -2 degrees.  Not a fun way to start the day. Luckily it's my day off, so the heating guy came about 3 hrs. later. By then it was nice and frosty in here! Finally got it fixed and it's 1:50 p.m. now and just now getting nice and toasty. He said the fuel oil gelled because it was so cold and wouldn't flow through the little pipe. It could happen again if it gets that cold again tonight. I'm ready to go to a Hotel!!  ;)

I woke up at 5:00 (not by choice) with a sore throat and couldn't get back to sleep until at least 6:00, then didn't get up again until after 8:00. Sometime later today I will vacuum the stairs.

Work then I baked a cake.

Spent about 4 hours with my friend Mike, blowing insulation into my parents attic. It was nice to get home and shower!

Today I am reutning to work, after being poorly for the last week or so.

It's my day off.. but i have a hospital appointment.. zippedy do da day

You don't necessarily need to buy a multi-region DVD player. There are some that you can...erm..."alter" so they can play all regions. We had an Electrohome one that we could do that with, but then it busted. The one we have now is a Philips one and you can alter it as well. It just takes doing some research and finding out how to do it! ;)

Well, I think most of the cheaper ones you can do that with. Just proves that you don't necessarily get what you pay for. You get that and then some!!! :)

Today I went to the college to do my volunteer work; I finally got all 460 records entered into the database I've created; now I have to work on how to run a query. Actually, I know how to run a query; I just have to write an explanation since users will be using this application and they need to know how to do a query. So if someone is, for example, looking for "disability resources", they can do it easily. I will work on that when I come in next week. My supervisor is pleased with my progress.

You can change many of them from one region to another simply by asking the company how.  Hubby bought a dvd player in Seattle on a recent work trip there.  It was for region 1 discs and he bought all the dics here (region 2).  A quick e-mail to the company help desk and it was sorted relatively easily.

Well that's good to know.. and if the company won't tell me chances are i can find out how to anyway.

I thought aboot selling my DVD's.. but one look told me that would be more hassle than it's worth...

I think it was relatively straight forward if a little obscure to do.  It's an option tucked away inside one of the menus.  I think there are some websites that tell you how to do it if you can find the one for your machine.

Well, yesterday when I was on campus I talked with an advisor; I told her I was probably going to change my major to math but had doubts because the career options sounded boring, but she said that I can major in anything just as long as I find a career that can utilize my math skills. I was informed that computer programmers require a background in math, and that's the career pamphlet I've been reading about today.

Well Computer programming is an interesting field.. however one thing i must stress is that there are a lot of Computer programmers around now.. however you seem good with computers and as long as your dedictaed I'd bet my bottom dollar that you would do well

Well Computer programming is an interesting field.. however one thing i must stress is that there are a lot of Computer programmers around now.. however you seem good with computers and as long as your dedictaed I'd bet my bottom dollar that you would do well

According to what I read today, the employment is expected to rise over the next ten years. I made a list of the pros and cons. It also said on the handout that employers usually prefer college grads with degrees in computer information systems, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or physical sciences. So I'm still considering it.

Took a shower, had some breakfast. Now I'm cleaning the house...well, not RIGHT now :D

We now have a hole in the wall in the livingroom. I hope by the end of the day, that hole will be a doorway.

Aww... that's nice. :) We took our dog Chloe to the vet two weeks ago for her annual checkup. On the 16th of this month we celebrated the two-year anniversary of her adoption.
