My mom and I plan on baking holiday cookies today. Later on I'll probably wrap some presents.

That's awesome. Our Cub Scouts are doing a coat drive (coats, mittens and the like), I've never thought of doing shoes :)


It was nice of them.  There is a local radio station that does a "Quarters for Christmas" drive every year.  They use the money to buy shoes for needy kids.  They even pay all the administration costs so all the money collected goes to the shoes.  It's a great charity.


In about 20 minutes we are going to the community Christmas party.  I really don't want to, but Sarah does so we are going.

I fired my kiln (took 9 hours...will get to see the results by tomorrow afternoon when it's cooled down)...also took my kids to McDonald's (they loved it).  :) 

work :( then when I get home we will go out to the tree farm and cut down a Christmas tree (finally) ::)

Yeah. Enjoying my time off is what I have been doing as well. We went to a concert and saw 'Incredibles' at the cinema.

Church and then took the Christmas presents to my mom's house.  My cat seems to think it is his job to unwrap them so they had to go bye bye.  We spend Christmas Eve at her house so the presents just went early.

Well, here goes. I woke up at 1am for work...a new route came open at another paper. Worked until 6:30...came home and slept until 10, then had a belated birthday lunch for my son Randall, with my parents. I then ran some errands and here I am :P

Today I will work untill 11:30am go out for lunch with a couple of co-workers and then I am off to the house and will not have to come back to work untill Jan. 3, 2005. ;D

This morning I helped my mom prepare stuffed pasta shells for Christmas Eve dinner, then I cleaned up the dishes. Then she took the shells over to my grandma's house, where we traditionally have had family gatherings the past several years. My grandma will cook the shells tomorrow so they can be served.

After church we went to Media Play to spend the $50 gift card my mom gave me.  I was able to buy Mary Poppins on DVD, Home On The Range on DVD, a doll for Sarah and a tame called The 80's Game.  The doll and game were on sale...the doll was $15.99 marked down to $4.79 and the game was $29.99 marked down to $8.99.  I love those kind of sales.

Today we went to church, had some lunch at Marie Callenders, then took my grandma back to her house. After that we went out to West Covina to visit a very sick friend of my mother's who she had met while working out there a decade ago. My mom's friend (whose name is Lyn), who is 54, has cancer and a brain tumor, and is not expected to live much longer. :-[ So we spent about an hour at Lyn's house; this may be the last time we'll get to see her.

Oh, by the way, on the way out to West Covina, we passed by the neighborhood that we used to live in...and things have changed! :o We hadn't passed through Lake View Terrace (where I lived for the first 20 years of my life) or the eastern portion of the San Fernando Valley in three years or so...and we noticed that the shopping center across from our old neighborhood had expanded, and there was a new golf course further along the freeway...even as we got into Irwindale (a city to the north-northwest of West Covina) 30 miles later, there were some new buildings. (When my mom worked in West Covina, we would pass through there every week, so we became familiar with the area.) We took a different route home; we were gone for about 7 1/2 hours; our little dog was happy to see us when we finally got home.

I have not done much today, as I am recovering from the events of the last few days, had a brisk walk when buying my newspaper, and had been in since.

I may get an article in the local newspaper. The Community Health Center where I had a scheduled appointment this morning, is closed all day. There was NO notification and thier message says they are open from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday! If I hadn't made a call and gotten around the recording and to an answering service, there would still be about 10-15 people standing outside waiting for the doors to open :-\\ So now I am pretty much going to stay home and post...with the exception of running a few errands later today.

I'm gonna try to get the house back to the same shape it was in before Christmas.  It's raining pretty heavily right now, but if it lets up I'm gonna take my daughter to the jeweler to have her ring resized.  :)

Well, my mom got better and we went out for a nice dinner as planned, and when we got home, we all helped prepare the French toast that we'll be enjoying tomorrow morning (here). And we played some fun games like cards and Bingo. :)

Today I just stayed home, watched "The Price Is Right", ate lunch, did some posting, took care of things around the house, had some dinner, and did some more posting. Nothing eventful.

I have to run errands soon. I'll be gone most of the day :-\\

Today I made a couple of phone calls: one to my supervisor, telling her that I'd be coming in tomorrow to do my volunteer work; and the other one to this lady named deanna to let her know that I'd be coming to a diner's club meeting on Saturday.

We are going to take down our Christmas decorations tonight.  Because we were away over Christmas we didn't put everything up this year so it shouldn't take too long.

I would also like to get the kids (and myself) in bed a bit earlier tonight.  We've been late getting to school (and hence work) for the past two mornings.  Might help me if the kids stayed in their beds as well!

We are going to take down our Christmas decorations tonight.  Because we were away over Christmas we didn't put everything up this year so it shouldn't take too long.


We took down our outside lights last weekend; we're gonna take down everything else this weekend, and that includes undecorating the tree.

I worked and picked up another route. It wasn't a fun day as the second took me ALL over town....oh, did I mention I had to drive al day in the snow ::) Actually the afternoon wasn't that bad but I'll save the rest of that for the Weather thread. Tonight I am going to TRY and relax.....my life is ALL mixed up lately :D

Visited my friend, went out to a late lunch with the Cube, went shopping, and now I'm home. :)
