I love salmon.  It's like, my favorite fish.  McCormick's has this amazing stuffed salmon fillet with brie, crab, shrimp and artichokes.

Today was a good day. Chris, Vaughn, and I went out for Chinese food for lunch, then we washed/vacuumed out the car. Later, we (along with my mom) drove to Pittsburgh International Airport to pick up my dad (he was coming in from S. Carolina this afternoon)....then afterwards my dad treated us to dinner.

I just got done decorating my tree.....as soon as my sister feels better and she puts some more ornaments on it, I'll take a picture.

My day & evening was just a bunch of little things to do. nothing special

Spent all yesterday afternoon wrapping presents, then I cooked dinner and watched T.V.

almost forgot. I'm in a training class from Monday-Thursday in Hayward. I don't like training or meetings. I'd rather be at my desk doing my thing, plus we're getting trained on something that we really don't even work on.  ??? I guess the up side is that I can try some new places for lunch.

I left the dogs in the house for about an hour and had to do some things. I came back and there was blood everywhere. Halle was bleeding from her left leg but was alright, Harold (the other, older dog) was bleeding from his neck and chest. I scooped him up and took him to the vet straight away, I held him to my chest with one arm.. ever drive a stick with one hand? Not easy.
Anyway, I arrived at the vets covered in blood and announced "Bit of help please." They were great and took him through straight away, cleaned him up and had him on fluids within 10 minutes. He's there now.

The tough decision is what to do from here. This was over food, I found some cookies on the floor and the pack all torn up. Harold is notorious for stealing food and fighting, Halle has never done either of these. I think what has happened is he's stolen some food, she's wanted to have some and he's gone for her to get her off. Fact is, she's twice as big as he is, a third his age and much stronger.
She was terrified when I got home, which to me say's she was upset.. she isn't an agressive dog but this can't be ignored so I'm really going to have to think long and hard about it.

I don't know if he'll be alright or not, he has a puncture wound in his neck but the bleeding stopped pretty quickly which indicates that no arterys or anything were damaged. It'll be the shock more than anything, he's a 12 year old dog. He's always been a fighting dog, he's picked fights with every dog under the sun, Dobermans, Alsations, Rotweilers etc etc etc (considering he's just a terrier!) but not for a while.

I guess I'll have to see what happens.

She's still upset. She's gone in her crate and hasn't come out for ages.. and she never goes in her crate anymore, I went and sat in there with her for a while, she really knows she's done something seriously bad.

Well...doing some laundry and other misc. things around the house today. Later I have to go to the post office to mail a package and some *Christmas cards* ;), and then we are going grocery shopping and off to Home Depot & Lowe's to price some home improvement items.

i have similar jobs to do, but i think i'll blow them off and watch Pride and Predjudice in the AM.

Yeah, I'm not a very sentimental guy, nor am I a soft-sort, but I love my dogs!!

He's about 11. He was a stray so I have no idea exactly how old he is, but he's certainly in double figures now, so he's getting up there anyway. He's fit though, I take him out miles every day, he's fed well, kept healthy etc, so he's got a fighting chance.

I can't punish the other dog. I've pretty much worked out what happened and it was indeed a fight over food that he'd stolen. I did some investigative work and figured that out. Like I said, she isn't aggresive at all, in fact, she's terrified of most things and he is by far the boss dog in the house so I guess he must have gone for her when she tried to eat some of what he'd stolen. The little bastard loved a good fight and would go for anything!  ;D

His digestive tract is breaking down. Every morning (and sometimes in the evening) he lets out yowls because he is in pain. Then he goes to catbox but sometimes he doesn't always make it in time.  :-\\  And it is not solid so he gets dehyrated all the time. We have to keep bringing him to the vet from time to time to get fluids-plus his anal glands keep getting clogged.  :P  They suggested that we do an ultrasound on him (for $250  :o :o ) and even if they did find out what exactly is wrong, there is no guarantee that they could fix it. And yes, he is on special food (which the other two like, too-they keep eating his food and he tries to eat their food.  ::))  The joys of being owned by a cat-or should I say three of them.  :-\\

Finished a C program for one of my computer programming classes. There's a final project that's due on Wednesday and I have to get started on that soon. The professor says it shouldn't be too hard, and I shouldn't have to write too much code...so I should probably get started on it soon. :)

Dropped my daughter off at school this morning then went to my 2 1/2 year old son's Christmas show at his school. I've got to wash and iron clothes, pack a few things for our trip next week, clean out my car, cook dinner and a few other things.

Spent the day cleaning out Vaughn's playroom....I got rid of 5 bags of old broken toys/garbage....it looks SO much better now! :)

Talked to my sister about arranging a visit to my mother's (and talked to my mother about our visit). Started addressing envelopes for Christmas cards.

I was out like a light yesterday. I got sick overnight on Monday and was even too tired to stay on the computer yesterday to visit here. I had a 101 temp. It's now gone down and I'm back at work, but still feeling under the weather.

I was out like a light yesterday. I got sick overnight on Monday and was even too tired to stay on the computer yesterday to visit here. I had a 101 temp. It's now gone down and I'm back at work, but still feeling under the weather.

Feeling a tad bit better today than from yesterday. I am working until 6pm and then planning on going to the craftstore for a frame and then the dollar store for some white tissue paper and other wrapping materials :0)

After shoving a bunch of pills down my cats' throats (all three of them are on meds), I got my hair done, did a little shopping (got more Christmas cards since I didn't get enough the first time around). Hopefully, I will finish them up SOON!!! Man, I hate doing Christmas cards.

I know they will.  I'm so proud of my boys.  One boy asked his dentist if he could have an extra toothbrush/toothpaste/floss to send over with the letter he wrote.  Well, the dental assistant overheard this and told the receptionist who went crazy and started calling people to donate stuff so we have an entire box of dental supplies to send as well as other goodies they all brought to our meeting last night :)

Poor darling.

So I took my niece to her first big gig. She had a great time, so did I. We had about 6 feet around us because everytime somebody bumped in to her I explained in a clear and consice manner why this was not an acceptable course of action.

I went to work, watched some of the Karaoke Christmas party in our cafeteria and watched the publisher of our paper don an Elvis wig  ;D

Been busy today. First I did some holiday shopping, then came home because we were gonna have a new refrigerator delivered. And then I baked an apple pie which we'll be eating later. And tonight we'll be going to a dance, so my posting for today (Friday) will be minimal.

It's super-crystal clear night tonight, so I went out with the binoculars to see what I could see, and aside from the usual suspects (Orion, Sirius, Taurus, Gemini and Saturn), I also saw Cancer more clearly, and just for the Good Mike, I found the Pleiades.  They really are beautiful.  :)

It's 'nerdish'  ;D    I imagine you've enjoyed stargazing for a long time. we used to when we were boys and had sleep outs in friends backyards. we saw so many UFO's  ;D  kids are so impressionable and imaginative. You should see the night sky during the summer at Yosemite Natl. Park. it's quite beautiful

Each month's issue has a pull out guide for all the stars or planets positions for that month. The magazine is
also available at newsstands or magazine racks in the supermarket.

Most of what I know, I learned from my sister who's the astronomy buff in the family.  But for star charts, I go here: http://www.astronomy.com/asy/default.aspx?c=ss&id=7


The first chart is the one you want to focus on, which is the Winter Sky.  Personally, that's the sky with the most fun stuff in it to see, and on a really clear night, you can see most of that without telescopic aid.  Obviously with it you'll see it better, but some of the stars in these constellations are bright enough to be visible with the naked eye.  A good way to remember your directions, is that Orion is always to the south.  That way you'll know where to find something in respect to it on that map.

This morning we went over to my parent's house (Vaughn & I)...because Chris, my dad, and a few of their friends went to Hershey, Pa. to watch a high school football championship game.  So...I took a nap, then we went shopping. I got Vaughn's stocking stuffers. Then I stopped and got Subway for dinner...and I came home. My mom is keeping Vaughn for the night....so I am relaxing! 8)

Helped my neighgor rearrange furniture, picked up a storage tower for her, went to the bank, went to the mall, dropped a television off at my sisters, went to another mall, went to the video store, went to my neighbors house, now I am home, and home I will stay.

I went to a new softball complex 75 miles away in the town where I grew up to pick up tee shirts I could only get at that location as Christmas presents for my 2 closest pals. I love going alone because I take a stack of CD's and rock the whole time. After I bought the shirts, I went and cruised around the old neighborhoods and the city and ended up at the library where I spent 2 hours looking at yearbooks from my school and the other 2 high schools there. The annuals were from 1971, 1972, 1974. It was fun and brought back many memories. I cruised around town some more before I headed home & then I hit a couple of malls on the way home for some more Christmas shopping and came home and had to go right back out to get Lady Di some red and green tissue paper for gift wrapping. and now I'm here.

Sometimes seeking out a great uncle or aunts information can lead you back to direct ancestors. Also if you are able to get the middle names of great greats you will find that they are surnames from the mothers side.

The party last night was a lot of fun. Many people were coming up to me and complenting me on my dress (I'll post a pic later). They had a band there and we got them to play a waltz and when we started dancing, people started applauding us. Saw a lot of people we haven't seen in a while. The governor was there. Carlos went up to him and shook his hand and said, "Congradulations on the election" and after he walked away, he said to me, "But I didn't vote for you".  ;D ;D  I didn't talk to the gov. And we ate, and drank wine, and ate, and ate and ate.  ;D ;D  We did get an invite to a New Years' Eve party which is good because we didn't have any plans-now we do. As always, very enjoyable. The only problem (and it happens every year), there were so many people there that it was hard to navigate through the crowd.


Today, we are going to a reception for Senator-Elect Bernie Sanders. Should also be fun.

As for me...today, Chris and I went out for Chinese food for lunch, then we came home and I wrapped all of Vaughn's Christmas gifts from Santa (he was at his grandma's house for the day)....then we picked up Vaughn, and he and I watched, "The Santa Clause 2", and I put him to bed.

I got on my Yahoo! personals account and did some searching for awhile. Ones that interested me I saved, to pursue at a later date. I don't have a subscription so I can't do much but search however after I get moved to Florida and get my living situation sorted out(either my own place or rooming up with my best friend) I'll pay for a subscription and any proiles I have saved I can make contact then. Also in that time period I'll get my vehicle, and work on myself(get in better shape, get my wardrobe in line, etc). I have a fairly good idea of what I want so I'm going to stay close to that and see how it works.

Well, I just got dinner together in the crockpot. I have to do things around the house, mail out some items later, and then I have to help my mom with something tonight.

I guess, but I lived like.. right near you and didn't know anybody who did that.. and when I lived in Illinois some of the people I hung out with were still in school.

Only 15? Try 46.  :o :o :o  And yes, I FINALLY finished them!!! (YAY)-now they just need to be mailed. And once again, today we are going to the vet. Hopefully, this is the last time for a while.

I made out about 70 Christmas cards this year!! I am not mailing all of them though, thankfully.

You got me beat. There were a few that I didn't make out because I don't addresses. Next year I have decided that I am plug all these addresses into the computer and print them out on labels. Hopefully that will make this chore task easier.

oh, that's a really good idea! I always end up losing addresses....so maybe I will do that as well.

Took my first final at 8 AM; I took the entire 2 hours to do it. My next one is tomorrow morning at 9, so tonight I will be studying hard for it. In fact, after I sign out for today, I won't be returning to the 'puter until tomorrow afternoon.

Yes.  I usually send out more, but I lost all the info on my ipaq (although it should be backed up somewhere on the puter, but I can't find it ???) and those are the only ones who have sent us cards that hubby didn't throw out the envelopes ;D  I have a few more, but those aren't going to be mailed, just handed out at the family parties ;)

Back from my weekend away, though I think I left my brain back somewhere along the journey home, I feel spaced out today! As ever we crammed in alot but did get to see everyone we wanted to. I did get talked at by strange people twice which was rather alarming I seem to attract them somehow. ;D

Ours is new so it's the "new design", which means there's no rhyme or reason to where things are....at one end of one aisle is cereal....at the other, beer & alcohol ::)

I'm off to work in about 10 minutes, I'll bet they're gonna tell me to go home after a couple hours. I've got a throat infection (AGAIN!!!) and can't stop coughing, plus I've been sick 3 times in the last couple of hours.

I took my final for history. This is a lower division course, but it seems much harder since the prof had lectured on so much material and expected us to know it all. :o There was a really tough essay question on there, and essay questions really aren't my thing. I gave it my best attempt, though. ;)

here at work for another 35min, then shopping at the bookstore, then go home and eat or make some salmon & rice pilaf, depending on whether Di makes it or is gonna wait for me to get home & make it.

I went there when I was younger...we should really take Vaughn though..he would LOVE it...he has a thing for trains right now.

I'm at school now. I plan on going home and sleeping for an hour and a half before I have to go to work until 11:30. Blarg. Still have some Christmas shopping to do (Okay, so I still have to start Christmas shopping..) I guess I'll be doing that on Thursday.

Not a lot. I had to call in sick for work yesterday afternoon, and I've spent today mostly watching the telly.

We are going to go to that Christmas store today, and also the Italian Distribution store.

Just got in and am having a well deserved cup of tea! My arms feel about ten foot long from carrying all my bags. I did have the nice surprise of an old work collegue paying a visit so we had a quick drink in the pub before I hit the shops, I had diet coke I hasten to add. Now I'm waiting for my parents to come round with my nephew.

Not much as I feel like I got run over by a truck....I HATE being sick >:(

I did call in to school and get my grades:  A in both classes so I currently have a 4.0 (since they don't count my grades before I transferred ;))  I guess my one teacher didn't ding me too bad for getting my literary periods screwed up :)
