I'm working now, then a few errands, and tonight I'll be cooking.  I am making the stuffing for tomorrow and a pistachio salad.  I went grocery shopping last night and bought three loaves of bread.  I also had french bread and bagels, so the girl who was bagging my order commented on all of it.  I told her I was making stuffing, and she looked at me kind of blankly and asked me what I meant.  After I explained it all to her, she said "I didn't know you could make it.  I just thought it came in a box."  Oh the horror!  There is nothing better than homemade stuffing!

Funny thing is all my life I grew up on homemade mashed potatoes. I liked them a lot, but then one year my mom got this brand from Costco and those were the best damn instant mashed potatoes I've ever had! I would serve those on Thanksgiving because everyone I know who's tried them likes them just as much. It just goes to show there are exceptions.  ;)

As long as they're not too creamy.....I think that's the problem I have with them, I like a little "lump" in my potatoes ;)

If you use a little less water than directed and then put the pot back over the stove, some of the moisture cooks out so the potatoes aren't creamy and they're thicker.

I'm on disability.When you work and your on Social Security you have to report to them that you're working and also if you have paychecks or paystubs around you have to show it to them that you are or were working so they could lower your SSI but if you don't report it to them within 30 days you might wind up with an overpayment.

I will be going to my boyfriend's family Thanksgiving dinner around 2pm and then coming back out this way to my side of the family's dinner around 5pm.

Picked up my in-laws (on time I might add) & had a early Thanksgiving gathering & meal. Dropped them off afterwards, came home & been doing some house cleaning, snacking, watched some of The Nutcracker video we have. and posting here & there. Today was a really nice day.  We got up and watched the Macy's Day Parade and then got ready to go to my parent's house. We helped my mom prepare the meal, then my grandma & grandpap (from S. Carolina) and my grandma (that lives around here) came over for dinner. Afterwards, we hung out the guys watched football...then Beth and I picked up our sister Brandy. At night, we all went to the place that has Christmas light displays/ a bonfire, Santa, train rides, food, a gift shop, nativity scene, etc. It was really nice.

Got the house cleaned up in the morning and began preparing all the food for our Thanksgiving soiree!! We began eating around 3:00.

I got my week planned out.. for next week. Finally, back to work!!

I put a load of the floor down in the kitchen. Raising the level so it meets the dining room. The current kitchen is part of an extension and the floor isn't at the same height, so I battoned out, insulated and laid plywood on top of it, it's going to be some sort of laminate floor eventually.. I believe.

I also spoke to the folks on the HGV course. (Heavy Goods Vehicle) I'm planning on taking the HGV test so I can drive a truck. Not.. a pickup truck.. like a truck truck.

You know what?  I'm the same way.  Mom always made homemade mashed potatos.  I always liked them.  But sometimes they were too watery or not enough salt or whatever.  I only make instant potatos and I love love love them.

Nothing but play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and watch a little news, really. Vice City is helping to hold me over(well kind of) until I get to Florida. :P

We had friends over for dinner and it turned out great. good food, we played some good Christmas music and then played cards. Things were going well for me the first half of the card game, but it was all downhill the second half & I ended up the biggest loser  ;D

My mom had French Silk pie for dessert, I just had a cup of eggnog. ( I already posted this in the what did you last eat post..)  Mom stayed awhile, then my husband did the dishes, and I came in here to fold some laundry and sign on here. Now it's almost 3 am.. Hubby is still up, playing music in the kitchen, having a few brewskis, me, I'm listening to tunes in here.. He comes in and checks out what I'm posting about from time to time. He finds it extremely amusing that I am so into this site.. I told him it's addicting.  It is!!

For the past week I've been having incredibly vivid dreams, scary, horrifying dreams.. anyway at about 5am last night I was woken up by a knocking on the door asking If I was alright. Apparently I'd been literally screaming and shouting. All sorts of weird sheesh like "Get off of me!" "I'll f'n kill you bastards!" "Let me go!" I don't really remember a lot of what was going on.. but that was totally weird. Anyway, I went back to sleep and then at about 7 I woke myself up shouting.  :-\\ Very strange, I guess there is some weird phase going on in my head.. must be my brain doing something odd.

So that's what I've already done today.  ;D

For the rest of the day - I'm gonna go play Rugby today. There is a big game for charity and my mate talked me in to playing. I haven't played a high standard game for a couple of years, but the guy that taught me to play, Martin Johnson - Rugby Legend, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Johnson) is playing a part so I feel an obligation to play. That should be fun. Then I suppose I'll have a few beers after and wander home... rather bruised up.  ;D

I got called for a job that is supposed to start Monday over in East Boston.  I'll take a ride over today to scout out the location, make sure there is parking.  Then Sig is coming down to do more work on the living room(plaster and paint).  It's so nice to have a man around the house(who doesn't live here, but is available for repairs) :)

Ate breakfast. I'll probably play some more Vice City today, and daydream about Florida!

I hardly ever drink coffee and I only drink tea in the morning.. and I drink caffeine free soda.  :-\\ It's real weird. I mean.. everyone has nightmares but these are SOOOO real.

We won the Rugby game, it really isn't important as it was a charity game (raising funds to help build a new clubhouse for the county team) but it was a lot of fun. My being there didn't really have much of an impact but I did make 2 excellent bone crunching tackles and add myself to the overall pack weight, which is always important.

I phoned the agency to report the roof needed mending.
We went to put them in the loft, haven't been up there since we moved in. There's a huge garbage bin up there presumably to catch drips from the leaking roof, two of the beams were soaking wet !? ! So I rang the agency again  *SIGH*

I woke up around 7:30am and took a shower. I washed the bed sheets as it's been at lesat 2 weeks since they've been washed. I did some stuff on the computer and am now about to get my regular clothes on and maybe go out and shop for a bit. Thereafter, I will proceed to go to Antioch and help my mom with decorations. Lets see if I can stick to this plan :0)

Scum  :o  LOL, are you kidding me? it may not bother you but your subconcicious takes those violent movie scenes and creates it's own little scary movie in your head while you sleep. at least that's my theory.

With the boards down, I was forced to watch more Tv and what a treat it turned out to be. Probably the best show I've seen in a long time on VH1. the UK Music Hall Of Fame. It was good, the performances were excellent and the awards were just a bit special  8) Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys performed Good Vibrations and it was awesome. Bon Jovi performed 3 songs and were great as usual.

Yesterday we took a drive to San Francisco to take a self guided tour of SF State College. Bridge toll for the Golden Gate is frikken $5.00 dang!!! plus we also had to cross the Richmond bridge, another 3 bucks. The college is small, but it is very nice and Julie liked it. We'll be taking drives to a couple more in the next couple months.

I went to Starbucks earlier, and now I'm typing up an article.

Went into Reading to do a bit of shopping and go to the cinema. Got bought lunch too so I can't complain!  ;D

I put on my raincoat earlier this afternoon and raked leaves in the rain. The green waste collection is done tomorrow morning so I figured I better take advantage and get rid of some leaves.

well, we came home from our weekend retreat around 3:00 today. I cleaned up the house and got the Christmas decorations ready to unpack tomorrow....then I took a nap...and now I am here.

Work and wait to hear from our rental agency about sending someone out to look at the roof. It turns out from our neighbour that there had been a problem with the roof leaking before, on that occassion a huge chunk of the bedroom ceiling came down!  :o 

Back to work today.

Working now, then I have to find some obscure furnace shop to see if I can get some filters.  I'm hoping to make it home before a big storm hits this afternoon.

Misc. stuff around the house, then tonight we have to go to the funeral home, and later decorating the house for Christmas.

Went back to work after having a few days off.... and broke my toe.  ;D I have NO luck. I didn't do it at work though, I caught it on the sideboard as I was walking through the hall this morning, DOH!

Carlos went to the doc because of a skin irration.  :\'(  He was waiting for the blood tests results to come back. My cat is going to the vet because he seems to be dehyrated again.  :\'( :\'(  And I'm going to the chiropractor.

Well, the guy from the roofing company came by to do a preliminary look-see and give us an estimate.  Then my sister and I went to the pet lodge to find out how much it would cost to board the dog for 2 days while the roofers are here, and then we went to Target so she could buy some socks and then later tonight I'm helping her with her presentation she has to give tomorrow.

Working today. Got a call saying a gift for my boyfriend has arrived at the store and I need to pick it up (probably tomorrow morning before work).
