I have the day off work, but I will be out for the morning.

Well...this morning I spent a little time online, and then concentrated on getting a paper done for my English class. Later, in the afternoon, we went out dancing! I just finished a beginning class in swing, so today at the dance studio, there was a celebration for that. Dancing is always fun. :) Then we came home, I walked the dog, and I finished my English paper!



Way cool. I have said (many times) that if you guys want to "catch" a lady-learn to dance. Yeah, swing is fun but there is nothing like a waltz. I suggest for your next class, learn to waltz.  ;)

I bet it isn't. :) Like I said yesterday, this instructor explains and demonstrates the dance steps very nicely, so nothing is hard when you learn from her.

The rest of the evening will be spent at home just relaxing.

I went to my program today.

I cleaned in the morning...then took Vaughn to the library to get more books/movies. We then spent the day with my mom (went shopping and out for lunch)...then I came home and took a nap...now I am here.

Going to vote in the primary election. Then we will be handing out "Bernie Sanders for Senate" literature, bumper stickers and pins for a couple of hours.

I went to the fair last night. Walked around, looked at the exhibits, went by the booths... Talked to the Dems for about 20 minutes. Mostly just people watched. I had a hamburger, a slice of pizza, a funnel cake, homemade rootbeer this guy sells, and as I left I bought a candy apple to bring home.

I did the same thing!  At first I thought maybe a mouse had died in the walls, then I figured I'd give cleaning the fridge and the smell has abated considerably.

Today I rolled over a CD, did a drop off at Salvation Army, bought some essentials(lightbulbs, batteries....) picked up Jake and had our weekly bowling game, and read some more off "Team of Rivals, The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln"  I recommend it to everyone.  ;)

Seems like I've been doing a lot of that today too, lol.

I worked the usual 8 hours, came home, took care of some paperwork that I need to return to my benifits dept. at work. They are verifying employees dependants for health and medical so i had to get copies of birth certificate, marriage certificate, home loan, tax forms, man these people are really trying to make sure that those people we claim as dependants are legal. With that done, I then made a pot of Jook, it's a Chinese rice soup, somewhat like porridge, but not that thick & made with turkey. It's quite good. My father-in-law showed me how to make it. I tuned up Julie's electric guitar & had to bang on it a bit, with headphones on, but turned way up  8) and now I am here.

Seems like I've been doing a lot of that today too, lol.

I am sorry to hear of all this, I know how hard all this is.  I am actually going to "visit" with a friend today. I sometimes bring two cups of coffee, one for me, one for him, and sit at his grave and talk, it is oddly soothing.

No university, but I have some things I need to do. I'm "free" up until about 5pm, then I have work tonight

Well I would have been working all day, probably until some time this evening as we wanted to finish off the roof of this house before the weekend, but alas, a huge storm has come through and we had to bail.
Ya'll nearly lost me.

I was up on the scaffold about 20 some feet in the air and I went to go around the corner of it so that I could climb down. Oops, wet hand + wet metal = no grip.
I have know idea how I didn't fall but I somehow or another ended up with my other arm hooked around a pole, dangling.. pulled myself up and climbed down a bit more slowly and carefully.

Still, after being rained out it now means I have most of the day to relax.

Tonight I'll probably go out and get obliterated with the lads.

So far I have taken approximately 190 digital photos of the new students, directed a few others to the correct building, sorted out a workman who needed access to the ladies toilets and dodged the heavy rain.

I'm just off to buy some lunch I think.

today was a day of rest for all of us (we all are sick with colds)...so we just took naps and hung out at home.  Tomorrow (if we all are feeling better)...we are going to a children's consignment show at the fair grounds.

We're packing my dad's stuff up tomorrow for the big move.  He's not taking a lot right now, as he's moving into a hotel until he can find an apartment, but we're packing up the necessities.

8) Well.....since today is over, basically..I am going to the Mid South Fair tommorow...My daughter is so excited, she is practically standing on her head!..lol...

I got up and did some setting up at my church, the kids room need chairs and tables and stuff put up & I'm on the crew that helps do that. Then went to a funeral for our friend that was killed in a motorcycle accident when he lost control of his Harley last Thursday & was hit by a truck. The funeral was packed with people in Harley Davidson outfits and they played an awesome video with pics of him and they played Bad To The Bone & Born To Be Wild. They had a live band play about 5-6 songs, Lady Di sang with them. It was quite a memorable farewell. Then we played poker at my house until 2:45am &
I was the big winner!!!!, I won $25bucks, so I'm buying the next round.  "A drink, for all my friends"  8)

Sounds like a great way to say goodbye.

I'm waiting for it to stop raining so i can go and do some food shopping (I have no car and it's coming down like a monsoon out there!) I'm then going to pack my bag for my trip tomorrow.  :)

it totally was, i was telling a friend, that was the best funeral/sendoff, good music, good video with pics from his life, of him on his bike. It was sad, but in his video he was smiling and looking joyful, so he apparently lived his life well.

I"ve been waiting all month and tonight, the premiere of Dexter is on!

Got up and had a big breakfast. Goldenrodd eggs over biscuits with sausage gravy, hash browns, bacon and sausage-stuffed baked apples. I went with my dad over to my brother's house for the first time, talked for awhile. Not too much else. I've been lazy the rest of the day.

Well I've had a busy 4 day weekend. Weds I worked a 16 hour shift, so that I could bargain for Thursday evening off.. I watched the Twins game Thursday, and ER.. saw Joe Mauer make his game saving home run in the 9th inning with 2 outs, during a commercial break, on Thursday.
Friday, I went and had a manicure and pedicure, and then went to cheer for my beloved Twins at the game, thanks to my friend Anita , who invited me at the last minute to go with her as her aunt had 2 extra tickets. Granted we did lose, but hey as of this post on Sunday evening, it doesn't matter.. it's all water under the bridge. We're CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPS!! It was a lot of fun.
Saturday, I went to my 20 year highschool reunion. Class of 86 KICKS!!! :P It was great seeing faces I haven't seen since graduation day... Then we had a little post reunion party at my house, and my friend Celeste slept over on our couch. Good Times!!
and then today... we had a Sports Sunday at our house... two tvs going simultaneously, watching the Vkings and the Twins.. The Vikes disappointed us, but our beloved
TWINS got the job done!! and a special thank you to Kansas City!!! Thank you , thank you!! We then headed downtown Minneapolis to the dome for a little post TWINS cheer... and then played Hunt for the Twins... by driving to various locations where they might be ... We DID see Bert Blylevan and Mike Redmond down near the Loon Cafe.. that was cool.. ! and now.. the weekend has come to an end... and it's back to work tomorrow...drat!! But it was fun while it lasted.
so yeah, I wrote about more than 1 day , but I figured I haven't posted in a few days so I can make up for lost posts in 1 post :)

Today I booked in 3 new jobs, meaning things are fully booked up until midway (near the end actually) of November. That's excellent seeing as most people don't want to have their houses worked on in the run up to christmas, especially with so much rain.

This does of course mean I'll be much busier and won't get to spend so much time with all you guys. You'll survive.  ;) ;D

Just another manic Monday for me. University from 3 until 6, then work from 7 til 11... then a 9am start at uni tomorrow  :(

She is 84 and has dementia.  She needs round the clock care, so the time is now.  There is a place just 5 blocks away that we always knew she would probably go to since it is so close and we will be able to stop by everyday and make sure she is being taken care of.  There is another place about a mile away that is a bit nicer, but it has a one year waiting list, and we need to get her in sooner than that.  :(

...I came home from worked and just lazed about like I said I was gonna do. I called my friend in Las Vegas and we each bragged about our recent softball accomplishments to each other (guy-talk) and told each other how good we are  ;D and just some tv and computer. nothing else.

Today....I think that I am going to start ripping down the wallpaper in Vaughn's room....we are planning on painting his room, our bedroom, and the kitchen...very very soon.

LOL!!!....I get so upset when I see gray hairs...I am almost 30 but people still think I am in my early 20's.....but they can't see the gray hair in my roots!! :D

Got to work around 9:15am and am working until 6pm. I have tomorrow off, so I need to tie some loose ends before I go.

I caught my husband plucking gray hairs this morning.  I told him to leave them alone, they make him look distinguished, but then I start plucking mine out!  ;D

^ speaking of grey hairs, this morning, as I was drying my hair - something was glistening in the light. I moved a bit and there, it still glistened. I took a closer look - and by golly it was one, long strand of mine that had turned completely white! Am I doomed? Or is this just a weak spot for me? I am only 24 (almost 25). Please, God, just give me some extra time - please?  ;D

I will be 30 in January....about 8 months ago I started finding random white/gray hairs....now, if I don't color mine...toward the top of my head...there are numerous gray hairs!! :-\\ So...needless to say, I WILL keep up with my coloring! ;)

I'm going to go for a haircut in a little while, take some folding out of the bank and get one of those photo both photos done to stick on my application for a HGV license.

Have to look at another nursing home for my mother.  Some of these places are just so depressing, others are nice, but you have to get on a waiting list.  Maybe I should choose the one I want to end up in and put my name in now!

PANIC!

The main Van failed it's M.O.T today and needs a lot of work doing to it. This basically means that there is no way to get a lot of the upcoming contracts done.

Well, got some good news. The ball joint on the van should be replaced by Tuesday.. so that's good.

So today I went and had a haircut, I forgot how dark my hair was.. it's nearly black, I got so used to it being blonde.

I started coloring my hair at the ripe old age of 19. I was starting to go grey at the age of 15.  :o :o  :o  If I didn't color, I would probably be just about completely grey. Actually, I should rephrase that, I would probably be completely WHITE. I like the color and I chose to use it  and will probably do so for many years to come. There may be a time when I chose not to color it. But I do respect the fact that you chose NOT to color yours. And yes, I did earn each and every one I have, too. I just don't want to announce to the world that things weren't always as good as they are now.

Yeah, what's funny is that my brother has about 6 or 7 hairs that have turned white on the right side of his head, and this is where I also found this white hair on my head. So, it makes me wonder, will it continue to get greyer as the next few years go on (like his have)? To be honest, I don't mind. I find it distinctive  :)

Sorry to hear that.  I was looking for assisted living facilities for my parents about a month ago.  We found a pretty nice one that was actually the CHEAPEST of the ones we went to look at :o

Mine started about age 19 :o  I used to try and color my hair about the same color it naturally is, but I found that they would just seem to show more so I started getting it highlighted with a few different shades of blonde and they don't seem to be as noticeable anymore ;)

mahaha..wish i could give it a stellar repirt but considering the highlight when i was there 5 years ago was the rollerrink and i didn't get to go this time..well,er..um..it was kinda cold and industrial and that's about all lol..i have to post a photo in the random thread in a minute..actually though i worked about 90 percent of the time i was there so it wasn't like i had much of a chance to hang out/sightsee/party..at all.but it was fun to get away  :)..oh and i bought two bee-yoo-ti-ful winter coats while i was there and had like 20 minutes to shop.so that's most def the highlight  ;D

thanks, we kicked their butts 25-4, and it felt good because these young kids beat us our first meeting 4 weeks ago so we paid them back, and then some.

Well, we got real lucky and found a top rated nursing home about 20 minutes away with an empty bed for my mother.  We will deliver her on Monday.  She is far gone in Altzheimers and needs someone with her 24/7.  The place is a palace compared to a couple of the places I toured.  We found it on a tip from a social worker.  Anyone who has to think about putting someone in care be sure to start before it becomes necessary. Today is a beautiful day and I think I will go bask in it.

Well, we got real lucky and found a top rated nursing home about 20 minutes away with an empty bed for my mother.  We will deliver her on Monday.  She is far gone in Altzheimers and needs someone with her 24/7.  The place is a palace compared to a couple of the places I toured.  We found it on a tip from a social worker.  Anyone who has to think about putting someone in care be sure to start before it becomes necessary. When we had to put my grandmother and her sister in one we happenend across a really great one, it was a blessing, they roomed together and when they went , they went together. So today I got sick and tired of sitting around the house in pain, so I got my crutches and went to the bank and deposited some money. I also bought a few new movies, I figure if I'm gonna be off my feet for a little while I should have some good stuff to watch.
I got around to replacing my VHS copies of 'The Blues Brothers' and 'Chopper' with the DVD copies of those movies.. plus a few more good ones.

I just realised, in the past month I've bought 19 DVD's.  :-[ I have a problem.  ;D

Now I'm going to get on my crutches and go down to the pub to watch the England vs Macedonia game with the lads.

Crutches = Sympathy beer.  ;D
