That sucks big time.  >:(

What variety of pooch??

Does indeed suck big time, especially as most of what was stolen didn't have any real monetary value, just personal value. It looks like it was somebody who knew what was in there, only a small number of people could possibly have an interest in a lot of what was stolen.

At work at the mo'.

It's my turn to help at Beavers tonight.  Dai is away so I will have to take James along as well.

Usual swimming lessons, dancing lessons, shopping etc tomorrow.  Plus trying to tidy the house.

On Sunday Elizabeth has a dress rehearsal for her dance show next week.  And James has a birthday party at more or less the same time.  I hop that Dai is back in time.

Dai is actually going to his mum's.  His fathers ashes are going to be interred tomorrow.

Got my new dog today.

She's about 3 years old, jet black Collie/Alsatian cross. She's beautiful!

She'll be coming home some time around the middle of next week as she needs to have her shots, by spayed etc.

I'm thinking of names now, currently she's called Cleo but I'm really not keen on that name and she doesn't answer to it anyway.

Right now I'm leaning toward either Sasha or Freja.

Taking my cat back to the vet for another follow-up. He is improving but still needs to be monitored. And I am going to purchasing plane tickets for my step-daughter and granddaughter to go to Puerto Rico for the holidays. It is a graduation/celebration gift from Carlos and I for getting her LPN. They are going this year instead of us.

Tonight was not a good night at work. The boss was in one of her "moods", and to relieve her stress gave 5 jobs to the colleague I was on with, forcing me onto the till for 2 1/2 FRIGGING HOURS  >:(
The only good thing that came out of this was that my till came off first (at 10), which meant I was free to do jobs afterwards

Well, at about 2pm me, my friends and my mam and her friends will all be heading to the Sunderland v Leicester game. But beforehand, I have to drop my uniform off at work so that I can just go straight to work from the match (Matche's don't usually finish until 4:50pm, and it takes about 35-40 minutes to get home with match traffic. It'd be pointless going home because I have to be at work by 5:50). Then, as you may have guessed, I have work until 11, and then with any luck mam'll order a pizza when I get home

I luv Saturdays, me!  :D

Oldest sister and I are going to be sitting down with my other sister to talk to her about her finances.  She lives in the family home and is now in danger of losing it because she spends, spends, and spends, on everything she wants and not enough that she needs.  As a result we have had to bail her out more than a few times and with the economy the way it is we can't carry her load anymore if she isn't going to make some changes the house will have to be sold.

And I listened to my friend's show online.

Our stadium holds 40,000 or thereabouts, and the match attendance was about 36,000  :o

They tried to attack Roy Keane (to no avail) and threw bricks at our coaches when we played them (and stuffed them) on Wednesday - they're not fans, they're f*ckin' psychopaths!

Never mind, a 1-1 draw was a good result, bearing in mind how crap we were. Your fans weren't very good, were they? They were quiet all match until Leicester scored, then they shut up again when we equalised! You weren't there, by any chance, were you?
At least you did not lose?

The city faithful has gradually got smaller and smaller. When teams come down here they still get an 'interesting' reception though, but to be honest, if you want a big of a fight, then the only games worth going to are Forest, Derby, Chelsea, Millwall and Leeds.

We wouldn't be making much noise up there anyway, nothing personal mate, but on a competitive and rivalry based scale Sunderland are nothing to us, I was just trying to wind you up a bit.  ;)

I remember when Leeds came down here about 4 years ago, that was a right go-around.  ;D

That's cool if you have good public transportation around you. See, I live in a well populated area, but their transportation sucks. So I HAD to learn to drive. In a car with manual transmission, no less. :P

I always love driving a manual, I don't know why but downshifting is an out of body experience for me. ::)

Today I think we are going up to the Lowell to do a tour of the mills.  I love that place.

Me and your fella were having a discussion about this.

I explained that it needed to be the other way around. In most of the US a stick shift makes sense, long distances, less stopping and starting.. however in the UK (apart from the wear and tear on brake pads) an automatic makes more sense because everything is generally more bunched up, shorter distances, far more stopping and starting.

Anywho, I got used to driving an Automatic in the states so when presented with a Van and a stick here I about crashed numerous times. S'alright now though.  ;D

I'll be honest, I'd rather have an automatic. Less hassle for me. But I'm stuck, so I sucked it up and learned how. I drove myself to the laundromat today and only stalled once. The guy behind me got pissed and started honking right away, so I took my sweet assed time restarting the car and moving. Luckily there wasn't much traffic, so I was allowed to be a b*tch. ;D

Better to overpush and leave some rubber on the road. You won't stall and people will fear you.  ;D

I figured it was a good idea to learn how to drive different common vehicles, so that's why I learned to drive a manual transmission.  I also learned how to drive a forklift.  Maybe later on I'll learn how to ride a motorcycle.  I figure that if an axe murderer were after me and the only working escape vehicle available was a forklift, I'd be ready :D

Somewhere I have a piece of paper saying I can legally drive a forklift.

I thought this was odd because unless I lifted something exceptionally heavy and dropped it on somebody, there's not that much havoc I could cause with a forklift.  ;D

You've obviously never watched Halloween.

You actually need to cook and eat the Axe murderer, then take a laxative, excrete what's left of him. Burn that, chop it up in to fine pieces, rinse it through a sieve, pour sulphuric acid over the debris that remains and then scatter that from an airplane over the Pacific.. then and only then.. you have about a 40% chance of survival.

I'm pretty simple when it comes to cheeses, nothing to strong. I love a good Brie with crackers or frenchbread.  I love sharp, medium & mild cheddar in that order. I have some swiss which I only care for on sandwiches. My wife & I will splurge on good Parmagiano Rigianno to shred on our ceasar salads. I like many, as it looks like you do. If I were gonna eat some right now, it'd be brie.

and that mozzarella thing with tomatoes, basil, and olive oil drizzled over it, a little pepper. magnifique! Yeah, don't get the brie if it's not good.  I'm a pepper jack fan too, but to me that is more of a novelty than a traditional cheese, but heck. it's cheese. a good M-Jack works fine too.

Well, went into University and got my final timetable... s'okay, I suppose. I get Fridays off and I get to lie-in on Mondays, but then to compensate that I have 9 o clock starts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I also get to go home early on Thursdays, and I have 1-5pm free on Tuesdays.

The only problem with this timetable is that i'm scheduled for a practical from 4-6 on a Monday afternoon, and of course my work shift is supposed to start at 6pm. This gives me 3 choices:
1/ Lose an hour and start at 7 - of course, this wouldn't be my preferred choice as it means i'm losing money and it may be difficult finding someone who'll agree to work that extra hour EVERY week
2/ Switch Monday night shift to a Thursday - I hate Thursday nights, but i'll do this if it means i'm not losing out on any pay. Working Thursdays will also mean working 3 nights in a row. i'll also have to get another member of staff to agree to switch
3/ Drop Monday nights altogether - i'll only do this if there isn't ANYTHING ELSE at all that I can do... I need the money

The manager should be in when I get to work tonight, so i'll sort it all out with her then. I'm hoping I can catch her in a good mood and do a straightforward switch

and that mozzarella thing with tomatoes, basil, and olive oil drizzled over it, a little pepper. magnifique! Yeah, don't get the brie if it's not good.  I'm a pepper jack fan too, but to me that is more of a novelty than a traditional cheese, but heck. it's cheese. a good M-Jack works fine too.

Yes to the salad caprese or whatever it's called. I grow my own basil on my back porch so that salad may be in our very near future.

I'm not sure of the name, but it is a wonderful appetizer, but the mozzarella has go to be fresh. You grow your own basil? I need to plant an herb garden myself. Basil smells so good.

...well, I've been at work 48 min and have done nothing but inthe00s. gotta go!  8)

yeah, I heat up a big heavy duty, thick bottomed stainless steel stock pot and pour in some oil, and a few big handfulls of JollyTime popcorn kernels, get my oven nitts on and once it starts poppin' I shake it up real good until it's done, then I add the salt and butter right in the pot, then pour it all into a gigantic bowl.

Today was a momentous day.

As some of you may or may not be aware, about 3 years ago I destroyed my left knee in a horrible football (soccer) accident.
Well, It's been about 3 years, but today I played in my first proper competitive game.
I was substituted in the 50th minute, but that was fine with me, by that time I was starting to feel a lot of pain.
I'll probably never be fully comfortable on it, but the fact that I put in a good performance and am back on the books with my old team suggests that I can still play to a decent standard.

We won 7-1 and I managed to score once and get a yellow card (caution).  ;D

We then got up and picked up Chris' nephew Cody...and we all went to the playground and then out for ice cream afterwards. After that....we headed back to the ethnic festival and got us some hot dogs and watched the fireworks....it was very eventful...just how I like it...and the weather was gorgeous today! :) 8)

Well...this morning I spent a little time online, and then concentrated on getting a paper done for my English class. Later, in the afternoon, we went out dancing! I just finished a beginning class in swing, so today at the dance studio, there was a celebration for that. Dancing is always fun. :) Then we came home, I walked the dog, and I finished my English paper!

yes, it was! My parents began taking dance lessons at a place called "House Of Dance" in Ventura back in February; I came with them one time to observe and see what everyone was doing; it seemed like fun, so in May, I came with them to a dance party; the instructor gave us all free lessons in swing and cha cha. This instructor is a very nice lady; she explains the dance steps very well and tells us what to avoid doing so that we won't make certain mistakes. Anyway, during the summer I attended a few workshops, and in August I signed up for a six-week swing class!

one other thing: you don't need a partner in order to take the class. All the ladies rotate so that they dance with all the men. :)

Yup! 8) O0

I want to take some more dance classes, but right now I really need to concentrate on my studies. So after finals are over, I may consider dancing some more. So that would be sometime after Christmas.

Thanks Mike. I've attended a few cha cha workshops, so I have a background on that, too. Like I said above, I will be concentrating on my studies for the next three months...so maybe in January 2007 I can see about taking another dance class.

sounds exciting, I think Lady Di (wife) wants to do something like that and maybe I'll give in and go for it.
