Yesterday (Sunday) I was out most of the day. In fact, for the next four Sundays I'll be away from the 'puter most of the day (during the day) because I help out with a series of young adult activities in my area. For the past couple summers, I've been assisting with "Theology On Tap," which is a four-week series of sessions where speakers discuss religious topics to young adults (singles and couples usu. in their 20s and 30s) in a relaxed environment. I first went to one of these sessions three years ago and enjoyed the experience, so then I started showing up early to help set up the environment...and eventually became part of the planning team!

My Mom had spinal surgery today.

I was pretty much worried sick whilst she was in theatre but it all went real good and she was able to walk with some help a few hours ago.

I'm real happy now!

I ended up totally worn out and just dropped to the floor and slept in a corner whilst the she woke up properly.

A horrible day but a great outcome.

My mom had spinal surgery today.

I did that last week.  Granted, my hair wasn't very long, but I still got 4" chopped off :o  To make up for it, I got it highlighted pretty blonde ;)

That's where dryers come in handy...

I find if you take the clothes out immediately and hang (or fold) them, there's much less ironing needed... ;)

probably be on the phone all day with the mortgage broker that is going to hopefully help us consolidate all of our bills.

Pick up my dad/brother, drop them at my mom's van, go to the bank, go to another bank, pay some bills for the parents, go to bank #3, mow the lawn before the rain comes tonight and maybe go see my mom in the hospital.  Oh, and I have laundry to do (as usual ::)).

Ugh...I had to file my tax return or something for the first time in my life. To any teenagers out there who are in a hurry to grow up and become an adult...CLING ON TO ANY VESTIGE OF YOUR ADOLESCENCE YOU CAN!!!

Go to work.  Take my daughter to soccer practice.  Do lots of laundry in preparation for our trip on Friday (yeah!)

Today I paid my fees for the fall semester at Cal State Northridge. Then I did more volunteer work on campus. I've been working on this directory for almost two years; it's an ongoing project...I'm sure I'll be finished at some point.

Today, Tony & I both have the day off together, doesn't usually happen on thurs, but it's cool. Tonight going to see the girls play a show. That's it for me today.  :)

Took the kiddos to a place called "Boxcar Buffet"...buffet pizza, salad and pasta and then a HUGE game room.  They have all the arcade games, rock wall, mini-golf, play area (like McDonalds), batting gages, and go-carts.  And I thought Chuck E. Cheese's was bad this is like 100 times more insane!!  LOL!!

2) The REDNECK wedding from Hell...The bride is going to be driven down the aisle by her father on a 4-wheeler.  The brides-maids are wearing "Daisy Dukes" and tank tops, the grooms-men are wearing 'wife-beaters' and bandanna 'do-rags'...the happy couple will be toasting each other with mason jars filled with Mountain Dew (unless they decide to go with moon shine)...

I just can't decide.

Funny thing is that the bride's family and the groom's family come from a really small coal mining town in Va. and every other family has the same last name.  My neighbor's maiden name is the same as her married name, her daughter's maiden name was the same as her married name...so I guess you're pretty close.  maybe not first cousins but second and third for sure.

Both movies were excellent!  We stopped at Wendy's for dinner and brought it in to eat while we watched the movies. I love the drive-in..and we are lucky enough to have 3 working drive-ins right around us! :)

I went to church, and came home to an empty house, except the 2 guinea pigs Lucy Liu & Elfie, so I washed a sink full of dishes, marinated a bunch of chicken, cut up some romaine and cukes for ceasar salad and am now gonna brave the heat and fire up the grill to cook up that chicken.

Downloaded a ton of porn to enjoy over the next few days.

Used up the remnants of a birthday cake and cheese to make myself a great lunch.

Watched Lethal weapon and changed the sheets on the bed.

All in all a great sunday.

Went with my daughter to get her senior pictures taken. They did some really cool stuff, they should turn out nice. Tonight we're going to the free concert in the park series in town to see Eight Days A Week, a Beatles tribute band. It should be fun.  :)

I took my daughter shopping for school clothes and shoes.  Got those things plus a bunch of other stuff for my daughter and niece, so that they'll have the same things to play with when we visit my family in NY next week.  My son also got new clothes and shoes.

I just dyed my hair...a light golden brown.  :o  I haven't dried it yet so I have no idea how it turned out.

Just got back from seeing Guns n' Roses, was a kick ass show. Got right at the front and crushed everyone.

Much the same as yesterday.

Work tomorrow, then the BIG GAME, my softball team ended up the season with a nice 1st place record of 11 wins, 2 losses & 1 tie. the 2nd place & 3rd place teams will have a playoff to see who faces us in the Championship game at 8:40pm tomorrow night. I can't wait to go out & kick butt.  8)

Ugh.
I just am back to work after the mini vacation up in the mountains with CeeKay and her kids.  They are still there and will come back to the city on Friday.
I am now on mandatory overtime and will be working from 9-9 through Sunday- so expect to see me fairly often when I'm not doing work.
That is a drag.
Now I can't take them to the beach.  BUT we will still be having a party Saturday night- can't wait!

It was awesome to win in the bottome half of the last inning. The other team thought they had us & we pulled off a fantastic finish to win the trophies and the tee shirts.  8)

I was definitely gonna swing for the fence to hit a walk off homer if they had pitched to me, but I'm glad the kid came thru for us and got the game winner.  He needed it more for his confidence. I had a good night.

Well, we did go last Friday and there is another one on Sunday that we will probably go to. I would have to say in the last month we have been to 4 or 5 of them-so I'm not hurting at all.  ;D ;D

I'm going to my sister's college orientation today and tomorrow I'm going with her to the Rascal Flatts concert.  Now, I personally don't like country music, but she got 2 tickets and the person who was going with her cancelled at the last minute.  So, they're damn good seats and I love seeing shows at Philips.

My neighbor had a stroke.  His wife has to spend the day at the hospital so I am going over to dog sit. They have a pool so it will be okay, but I am worried about him, it is his second stroke and he is in his 80s(you wouldn't know it though, he is still working on the docks unloading crates).  This is the beginning of the slide for him.
