My dad is cooking something on the grill for lunch, and then I'm sitting down to watch A Capitol Fourth tonight while my sister heads over to Wills Park to watch the fireworks with some friends.

Supposed to rain off and today, so probably just enjoy the day off and have a little barbeque in between the raindrops.

The weather's cooled down a bit, so i've pretty much spent the whole day in bed/lounging around/playing videogames... not that there's anything wrong with doing that (it is my day off after all!)  :D

Of course, when I logged into here, I had one new PM in my inbox*.. what can I say, I'm gutted  :(

We went to breakfast this morning and then to a parade, now we are at my parent's house for a cookout. Later we are going to a fair, and then going to see fireworks.

man kevin, one of thebest shows I've seen was Foreigner at The Warfield in SanFrancisco about 8 years ago before the lead singer had brain or head surgery and they rocked the joint. And Blue Oyster Cult did the same at a smaller club in SF, I wish I were going to a concert tonight.  I'm now going out to light the charcoal for todays BBQ and will cooking for friends and family. have a good one.

This is how times have changed.  I remember (set the wayback machine) when groups would come to Boston, play at a club called the Boston Tea Party on Saturday Night, then on Sunday afternoon show up at the Cambridge Common and play for free.  Most of the folkies, and I remember Nazz(Todd Rundgren), and then one
day Timothy Leary walking around in a purple haze.  ::)

Went shopping for a few summer clothes, then my daughter wanted me to go look at the new bass guitar she's been eyeing at the Guitar Center. We might put it in layaway or wait until Christmas, not sure yet. Firing up the grill in a bit.

Did you know that filling a garden tub full of cold water and sitting in it (wearing a bathing suit, of course) is a great way to cool off WHEN YOUR AIR CONDITIONER STILL DOESN'T EFFING WORK.

The Philly Pops, followed by Idol winner Fantasia, then Comes Lionel Richie. Topped
off by one of the biggest fireworks display in the country. I would go but I hate crowds.

The stupid lightening/severe thunderstorms in the area right now put a hold on the fireworks and Lenox Square.  That's where my sister's at and she's been calling all frantic because every 10 seconds, there's a flash of cloud-to-ground lightening.

I had a good time today, & everyone that came over had a good time. we had a nice bbq & enjoyed the festivities of the 4th. I saw Aerosmith perform with the Boston Pops Orchestra, that was a surreal performance and honestly, I didn't like it. I don't like the combo, do one or the other, but that's me  8)

YUM .  I bbq'd chicken drumsticks and thighs, some with my homemade bbq sauce, some with teriyaki sauce, & simultaneously Q'd up a Tri-Tip that had marinated overnight & I threw on 3 packs of beef ball park franks & some cheeseburgers. Diane made a spinach dip, some vegies, watermelon, friends brought potato salad, cabbage crunch salad, chocolate cake, poppyseed cake for dessert. It was wonderful. My friends dad, an older & wiser dude than me sat out on the patio and talked for a long time. He's cool  8) the weather was perfect. It was warm out, but there was a constant cool breeze

yeah, it was quite nice, and I cooked up a bunch of food, but the leftovers will make nice lunch for work and when I get home for work.

*** all except my friend's brother came over with his kid and the kid starting gettin noisy and I'm not used to littl kids in the house and it was somewhat irritating when he started yelling  :o  last invite for him  ;D

I've got the afternoon off work so I'm going in to kick some arse at the estate agents as we STILL haven't had the paperwork through on the new property, we move in just over a week!!!!

Carlos had a follow-up appointment today. The doc said it looks great and took the bandage off. So he no longer needs to keep it covered. Then we stopped by my clinic to try to streighten out a billing problem (that happens EVERY year! Damn V.A.).  There is another auction tonight but Carlos doesn't want to go to it since we went to one last night and will be going to another one tomorrow. I guess he doesn't want to get "auctioned-out!"

It was written out before the Finals took place that there will not be any British interest partaking.

Yesterday I had to work the first Saturday(overtime) I have had in a long time.  I don't like overtime but sometimes you have to do it.  It ended up being a long long day. We had to prepare an on ramp to the highway, to do it they had to close a portion of the highway so we had to work until it was done so they could reopen that stretch.  I worked from 6:30am until 7pm.  Absolutely horrifying for someone who hates OT, but of course the pay check next week will look real, real good.  Today we will go to Rockport for a nice relaxing day.  :)

great story- ours exploded when it was on and streamed right in my neighbor's window and hit the daughter in the head...she was hysterical laughing and we were trying to catch the hose which was flailing all over the yard.

Well...this morning my dad and I got up early to go play golf, in honor of my birthday (which is Tuesday). My dad made two pars; I, on the other hand, used an average of six strokes on each of the nine holes.

Later on we'll go out for a late lunch/early dinner.

I agree, this was a very nice weekend spent at a hotel that resembled Hotel California, it had a mission-like/monterey style appearance to it. The coffee was good & strong, the food was superb and the weather was near perfect. like you said, "The way life should be"

Very much so. The problem is (as you know) is that he is feeling so good that he has to be very careful to not to mess things up. The other day, he brought in the groceries and I had to give him hell for that.

I went to group therapy

Very much the same as yesterday.

Help my daughter pack for her soccer tournament.  She's going tomorrow with her dad and I'm driving out w/ my boys on Friday.  The tournament is Friday a.m. through Sunday p.m. and is about 3 hr. from our house.  Beautiful location though, so it's like a mini-vacation.

So today I found out the list of people who'll be at my 'Suprise party' on Saturday.

You can't sneak anything by me, I'm far too aware... anyway, I haven't spoken to most of them for at least a couple years  ;D I'm gonna just get soooooooooooo wasted.

I got my car detailed at 9am before I went to work, got to work at 9:45am, took lunch - and am currently working on an Excel spreadsheet for vacation planning and doing price comparisons in between phone calls.

So today I found out the list of people who'll be at my 'Suprise party' on Saturday.

After all my party guests had arrived, I told them I'm gonna go outside & open the door & when I come in, everyone yell surprise & wish me a Happy Birthday. It was funny & they thought I was crazy  :D . I actually have a picture of that.

I don't like surprises and it was more of a joke to call it a surprise party. It was just a birthday party. It worked out well. I need to be in control when it comes to party planning and get togethers.

I'm taking a day off work so we can drive to San Jose State College & take a tour of it for my daughter Julie and she if she likes it for the Fall 2007 enrollment. She's still got a year of high school left. & after that, maybe come home and make some tacos  8)

It's just too dang loud and little wild kids are running around everywhere.  My son is 2 and he was being pushed off of rides by older kids.  I even saw one girl try to take his tickets.  Good thing he has me to stick up for him.

And that's how come the last time we went, some kid fractured his arm. Why? He was jumping off of a structure. Why did it happen? The parents were sitting in the corner gossiping. GOOD JOB! I'm sorry, after seeing all the sh*t that could happen, I do not let my son run around by himself. He got bit by an unsupervised two year old last week, which goes to show you how some parents are today.  ::)

Back on topic, I went into Chicago today and explored the Oriental Art Institute. Loved it. Absolutely loved it. The only thing that annoys me is when they insist on "restoring" old pieces. I think it takes away from the value of the actual piece.

And that's how come the last time we went, some kid fractured his arm. Why? He was jumping off of a structure. Why did it happen? The parents were sitting in the corner gossiping. GOOD JOB! I'm sorry, after seeing all the sh*t that could happen, I do not let my son run around by himself. He got bit by an unsupervised two year old last week, which goes to show you how some parents are today.  ::)

I think it depends on what kind of restoring they're doing.  Is it restoring, as in what they did to the Sistine Chapel when they merely cleaned it or is it restoring like touching up colors with new paints, stuff like that?

The latter. There was this piece from a tomb in Egypt (not sure of the pharaoh), where they filled in the missing pieces of hieroglyphs with colored paste. And then the giant statue of Tutankhamun they had was fascinating...until I read the description. When they got it, the legs, arms, and part of the crown were gone. So they added the missing pieces. :P

It was still pretty neat to see the stuff from Assyria and Babylon though. :)

I wish I could just sit and eat my food and let them run around, but I can't.  I'm always by my son's side.  My daughter who is 5 does get a little more freedom but basically she's a good kid.  Today she ran after a kid to give him his tickets he forgot.  :)

I was meant to be watching cricket in Brimingham, but circumstances stop me from going.

We were going to go to Maine, but ended up on Cape Cod instead.  Old Silver Beach for a couple of hours, then stopped for something to eat.  Came home, but I wish we had stayed overnight. 

I had a restful day at home, just watching television and the occasional post here.

I very nearly brought the box set of The Omen Trilogy last Monday, now I wish I did.

it's 2:41am, and i still have 3 friends over playing poker. I got eliminated so I'm just watching them play. winner gets $35, 2nd place gets $15.  I'm a loser and get nothing  :(  but I like having my pals over, the fellowship and comradery is cool  8)

  well morning got up at 4 am did some stuying for first time in 6 months lol and at around `12 noon went to university had to give some tests. it was Discrete Mathematics... The questions were superb and easy to understand but answering it took some stretching and moving and lots of eye exercise. i mean was trying to peek into others papers ;)
  Got back at 5pm and straight loged in here for some well  :-\\  i donno ..hehe tomorow another test to give so i might start studying after a while. or maybe go out with friends as usual. just hang out the whole time with friends ;)  8)

well...today started off just great. ::). We were leaving the house to go pick up Vaughn at my parent's house this morning, and I had on a pair of sandals that I had not worn in ages....so I was walking down the outside steps off of the porch...and my foot twisted and I fell, thus, scraping my knee badly.  :\'(  I cleaned it up and everything but it is pretty much sore. :( God...I am SUCH a klutz! :D


We are leaving in a few hours to go to Chris' niece Hayley's birthday party today.

I just saw Wolfmother in concert - they went off, once again, watching a concert has re-inspired me to form that band thats itching to get out of my head.
