Yay ! The end of the working week (here at least) at last ! Looking forward to a nice looong weekend 8)

I'm still trying to decide if to call the doctors or not.  I have a very sore throat, it feels at times like I'm swallowing razor blades.  I've had it since Monday.  Having spent all week taking Anadin Extra and Strepsils I tried paracetomol and Merocets today and that seems to be working better.

My computer still isn't working properly so I can't do any work on it.  Aparently it didn't recognise my profile (or couldn't find it, forget which) and so nothing stored in My Documents is there or anything.  And any work I do might not be recoverable after its sorted.



Yeah, you should call a doctor. That has lasted too long. If it is just a minor thing, it usually goes away (or starts to feel better) after a few days but it has been 5 days. Time to call the doctor.

Then it finally let me on and wouldnt let me in to any of my work because it didnt recognise some such code error or whatever the hell the stupid machines talk about. Anyway at this point i kicked the pulg out, and went gaaaaah very loudly, to the amusement of everyone else in the room >:(

Our group went to a Farm Museum where we pet some animals,walked around and went to a gift shop where I bought some Honey Apple Butter. :)

Have to go to the doctor for this yucky eye infection  :(  I was hoping it would be clearing up this morning, but it's worse so I guess I better go get some medication for it.  I have a problem putting eye drops in my eyes, so this should be very interesting.  :P

I went to a Health And Wellness Fair and I had my Blood Pressure,Blood & Glucose and Height/Weight checked for free and the result is that I'm pretty healthy. YAY! :)

It's the second game of the World Series in Boston, the Patriots going for their 20th win in
Foxboro, and the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge.  Think I'll stay north of the
city,  Farm stands, falling leaves and apple pie.  Life is good.

Well,I was gonna go out to meet Robin for a second time when she told me on the phone she had to cancel cause she has a small cold.hopefully,she'll be better by next week on the 30th or 31st.I'll just go shopping for myself today. :(

Well, right now the plan for today is to be relatively normal for a while, then sleep, and try and get over whatever depression appears to have been hanging over me (which shouldn't be such a hard job), and following that, I might go and spend lots of money making myself feel better.

First of all, catch up on the boards (I'm sure most of us missed it). Then I have to take the cats to the vet-follow-ups basically, besides a new thing that one of my cat has been doing. And of course as soon as I made the appointment, he hasn't been doing it. Figures. Then this evening, I am going to watch the game and watch the lunar eclipse (weather permitting of course).

you know, i thought about you when i was wandering around the bus terminal for nine hours. oh, how i loath that terminal now...

Buddy, beat O'Haire International for 16 hours.. I kid you not, got in and was expecting a 2 hour wait, so we were informed that due to bad weather in the St. Louis area we would be waiting another 2 hours, ok i can deal with that. So after 5 hours, don't as where that extra one went, we were informed that it would take an hour to sort out our plane. Ok.. OK.. 6 hours  :( im gettin annoyed now... anyway, about an hour and a half later the plane we were supposed to be getting, not only broke down but one of the engines burst in to flames, needless to say this scared me a bit, especially because it was the first time i had gone trans-atlantic on my own (i had arrived at O'Haire from heathrow). Anyway after nearly 10 hours we were told another plane was coming along, but it needed to refuel... grrrr then we were informed that something had gone wrong there and that the fuel tank or fuel coupling or whatever the hell it is called had caught fire and they would need to repair it. Right so finally after 15 hours, we were told the plane was ok.. (well this is a worry cus that plane had caught fire earlier but by now i didn't care) anyway after 15 and a half hours we were on the plane and some time later we were finally in the air. I could have caught the train or rented a car or something.. hell i could have gone greyhound.. but I paid $100 for my plane ticket, damned if i'm getting stiffed out of it  ;)

O'Hare is the WORSE!!! If I ever fly again I will make sure that the connecting flight is NOT through O'Hare. It never fails, you plane comes in one end of the terminal and your connecting flight is on the other end. You need to take a shuttle plane just to get from one terminal to the other. I was stuck there one time when my connecting flight was cancelled and what a mess that was. There was a long line (about 2 hours) to get your luggage-but that was only to say that you wanted your luggage-then it when you told them that you wanted it, it took another couple of hours to GET IT! I decided that I could live without my luggage for one night. (But, it actually got to my destination before I did). NEVER, NEVER again will I EVER fly through O'Hare!!

LOLOLOL i had to walk through that big massive underground tunnel twice.. cus i got directed to the wrong place. But.. at least they had that kinda museum thing there, that entertained me for about an hour, and i talked to everyone waiting to get on the flight, and i mean everyone.

Worked all morning and Just got home....soon it's off to run some errands :D

No doubt.  I was flying to SLC from Kentucky one New Years.  I had an hour layover between flights.  It took that long to get to the next gate.  Ridiculous.

The party was great (as always). We didn't find a pumpkin but our host had extra so I carved one of those-my usual cat. We didn't really eat dinner per say but we basically nibbled all day -and now I am full. The pumpkins turns out great as usual. One person did a carving of Johnny Cash which turned out cool. I did take pics-have to wait until they are developed (yes, it is on film-not digital) before I can post them.

We left early because we both were kind of tired (the rain started to come down just as we were leaving). We felt bad leaving so early but we were also cold. On the way home, this skunk jumped out in from of the car. Carlos had to stop the car and the skunk just stood there. He hooked the horn and the skunk just stood there. FINALLY he left the road. It was a big one, too.

But, it was a great party as usual.

Skipped church because the child picked up a nice case of head lice from school.  Spent the day washing, combing and cutting hair.  (those nit combs don't work worth a damn)  Then there was a ton of laundry to do.  Luckily I got my dryer fixed yesterday.  Sick of laundry, but now I need to wash clothes so I can wear them to work.  Boss frowns on coming to work nekkid.

I also colored my hair.  I was going to just let it go gray, but it continues to bother me so I colored it.

as for what i did today, i went to work which was busy and got really tiring, came home on the bus, sat about for a little while, talked to bobo on msn, got told to get changes into my authentic victorian dress, then got told to paint my face white by my kid brother and i took them, trick or treating, came in, got given loads of sweets :) sat about, did nothing, put me pjs on, and came online....fun fun fun!!!!

Tea tree oil shampoo works well as a general preventative.  The lice can't stand it apparently.

When mine have lice I use a ton of conditioner to get the hair really slippery and then comb out and squish the little buggers.  Then do the same a couple of days later and a few days later again to really get them all.

I woke up this morning to find snow on the ground....not the roads...and the board down again! Thankfully it's back :)

Well so far today I've failed to pay for my car tax at the Post Office because none of the insurance documents I took was the right one, handed another form in to the Post Office for them to give it back saying I need to fill the new version in and just managed to pay for my daughter's after school club in time for them to pick her up tonight!  Oh yeah, and I went to a funeral.

Wrapped our thermal manikin up in cling film and then restitched him into his top.  I sewed it up yesterday but then someone cut the bottom part off and the stitches undid!  >:(

Just got back from voting!

So, here's a head scratcher. My husband and I vote in different precincts, but both in Snohomish County. Oddly enough, I voted via touch-screen and he had a paper ballot. It makes me wonder how the percentages work out in our state regarding computer vs. traditional poll sites.

Stopped and rented a few vids on the way back home so we can watch something entertaining on our day off. I'm sure we'll switch to the news at around 10 or 11pm and see how it all turns out. Whatever the outcome, I just hope it's a quick process. 2000 was sheer torture, wasn't it? BTW, just saw footage on CNN of P. Diddy voting, so I guess he's not going to die?  ;)

Yes car insurance is dead expensive apparently (I don't own a car personally). What type of car do you own?

Well now.. Iv'e had a bit of pain in them recently.. not much but enough for it to be uncomfortable, like a dull constant earache. I know why, it's because i do a lot.. A LOT of swimming and i get water trapped in my ears. Basically i am going to ask the doctor if he can syringe my ears so the water dosent get trapped. I havent had them syringed before so there will be a lot of wax in there trapping the water. The other reason i am going is that i sometimes get a real sharp noise in them, but i imagine getting rid of all the crap in there will also sort that out.

I am getting a 1.8 Litre Puegot 206, that's why it is a bit Expensive.
Car Insurance falls under different bands. To actually insure even a relativley powerfull car is cheap, however the total figure is multiplied depending on things like how old you are, if you are male or female, where you live, where you keep your car, how many miles you do, what you use the car for and a number of other things.
So being a young male it is pretty expensive, however, because we don't live in a bad area, it is a very common car, it would be kept in a garage and i would be doing less than 10,000 miles a year (maybe) then it might not be totally crazy. I think i can get it for about 850-900 which isn't too bad.

Well now.. Iv'e had a bit of pain in them recently.. not much but enough for it to be uncomfortable, like a dull constant earache. I know why, it's because i do a lot.. A LOT of swimming and i get water trapped in my ears. Basically i am going to ask the doctor if he can syringe my ears so the water dosent get trapped. I havent had them syringed before so there will be a lot of wax in there trapping the water. The other reason i am going is that i sometimes get a real sharp noise in them, but i imagine getting rid of all the crap in there will also sort that out.

Ah I get you. I get it very occassionally. I haven't had my ears syringed either - I think I ought to.

At least it will help you once you start swimming again.

Car Insurance falls under different bands. To actually insure even a relativley powerfull car is cheap, however the total figure is multiplied depending on things like how old you are, if you are male or female, where you live, where you keep your car, how many miles you do, what you use the car for and a number of other things.
So being a young male it is pretty expensive, however, because we don't live in a bad area, it is a very common car, it would be kept in a garage and i would be doing less than 10,000 miles a year (maybe) then it might not be totally crazy. I think i can get it for about 850-900 which isn't too bad.

Umm. I don't think that was us. The boat has been out of the water for weeks now.  ;)

But, we had a hell of a time getting that tarp up-the wind was whippin'. At one point it came on really strong-I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that gust was a hurricane force gust-NO JOKE-it was that strong.

Tea tree oil shampoo works well as a general preventative. The lice can't stand it apparently.

When mine have lice I use a ton of conditioner to get the hair really slippery and then comb out and squish the little buggers. Then do the same a couple of days later and a few days later again to really get them all.


Sorry I didn't get back to this.  Haven't had time to go online lately, been busy at work.  I have a friend who told me about the tea tree oil shampoo, too.  I am going to pick some up.  The conditioner thing is funny, too.  My daughter washed her hair Wednesday and she used tons of conditioner.  I haven't seen any eggs or bugs since.

What really made me mad was that I called the school Monday to let them know.  They said they would check the other kids.  It has been a full week and no check.  I guess it isn't much of a priority to them.  Tea tree oil shampoo will be a constant in my house from now on.

Just came back from voting. I vote in every election, even the rinky dink city uncontested ones, and there
are never more than 4 or 5 people drifting in and out in the early hours. Today I had to stand in line and there were at least 75. :o


I love that there was a huge turnout.  I just hope it continues to be that way.  (I vote in all the elections, too.  Must make my voice heard.)

Okay. The first thing I have to do today is double-take at what 80s_cheerleader wrote. Seeing the words "butt" and "crack" so close together always kinda worries me a bit, as I'm forever scared of reading the wrong cryptic message into things. Anyhow..

Today is Saturday. And like all Saturdays, ever, the only thing to do is to do nothing. Apart from maybe go to the library and eat food and maybe meet some people. I keep losing contact with people, particularly this chick I met back in my original homeland of Sussex who I'm going to meet again at some point during the next week. No matter what anyone else says.

Then maybe I'll listen to music all day and generally kick heinie as usual.

Well I don't know how old you but 6 years is nothing really.Nearly all my boyfriends have been younger than me,not deliberatly it just seemed to happen that way.My fiance is 5 years younger than me and we've been together 7 years now.Never say never, you could knock back something that might be great,Just think how much fun you might have with an older, more experienced lady ................ ;)

because some think I was crazy to turn down money to vote.  I told them I take every opportunity
to "have my say".  Of course, they already knew that. ;) On voting day I was in a store with a
"My vote counted" sticker on that they gave away at the polls, and this 20 year old asked me
about voting and when I asked her if she had been she said she wasn't sure where to go
or if she was registered yadda,yadda,yadda.  Well I, and the two women behind me, kinda let
fly on her.  We tried to be diplomatic, but really... 20.  I would say that she was thoroughly ashamed
of herself by the time we finished talking to her and learned a big lesson about being flip about
the democratic process.

Took my big boy swimming. I told him when he can swim 4 lengths of the pool we will

I agree.  I am a firm believer that if you are eligible to vote and don't, you don't have the right to complain about who won and how they run things.

I have nothing to do today, nobody woke me up and i have decided to remain Brain dead for the rest of the day.. if that makes sense.. oh and my dog has just made an awful smell

Can't be all that bad.

Today is Thursday, the last day of the week, and therefore I'm going to do what I do every Thursday, which is to be eternally thankful that it exists and to generally do nothing.

Depending how I feel I either go motorway to 21, left and loop back along the ring road before Fosse Park, then down to Foxhunter Island and into Blaby that way (no idea what the roads are called) or I go through Leicester to Freemen's Common and out past County Arms.  I have occasionally been known to do some weird combination of the two when I wasn't paying attention!

I know a few places that are worse - honestly.  Coventry and Cambridge are two that spring to mind.

It's Veterans' Day here. At 11, the local high school band played the Star Spangled banner at the flag pole in the center of town (which I can see by looking out my window and of course I heard them). I must say it was quite painful to listen to because this year, the band is...well...let's just say that they have been better in previous years.

Tonight we are going round my mums so my daughter can try on the clown outfit my mum is making.  For some reason Elizabeth wanted a clown themed party for her birthday party.  We've booked Boo Boo the Clown for two hours on Tuesday and we plan to hit Sainsburys over the weekend.

Still haven't decided what we are giving her.  We bought some boots a couple of weeks ago and said they were an early present but she'll be disappointed if there isn't at least one parcel to unwrap on Tuesday morning.

If the weather is decent-ish tomorrow I expect we'll go round the street fair before it packs up for another year.  I have to have my carousel fix!

I'm managing to slow down after going nuts all week trying to get the house ready for the baby shower tomorrow. Today all I have to do is wash the bathroom mats and clean up the room. Then I'm done.

I thought that pregnant women weren't supposed to help with their own showers. Shows how much I know. :D

I faxed my ex-wife some papers so her paycheck won't be garnished nest week...or ever! Utah social services was threatening to do that because they said she had to prove I had custody of Brian and did NOT request her to pay child support. We both had already sent the court ppapers early this year but they claim to have never had them....morons ::)

i finally came to terms with my break up. i had a long talk with my ex today. it was hard because i wanted to stay away from her, at least in person. we have been friends for many years and we will continue to do so but the wound of breaking up is still raw. she has already moved on...we decided to talk over msn and through emails until i feel the need to see her again. the thought of her with someone else is something i have to deal with and she understands that i cannot be an impartial friend through this.

i am comforted in the fact that one day, in the far off future, we may one day be a couple again. i know it's fantasy but my gf was worth the wait for the first 15 years since we met, i can wait another 15 for our next time together...

Today is the big college day, which, as usual, means sleeping for half the day, eating at a fast-food outlet in both the morning (a 10:30 breakfast is probably on the cards) and the afternoon (because I'm too lazy to do anything else but fast-food). Or, as they call it in several neighbouring towns, painfully slow food.

Considering a radical life change....I may be moving out on my own. Today will go far in determining what my future hold. Sounds like a horoscope reading :D

Let's see, drop the littlest one at the neighbor so I can go to physical therapy for my back, then to the craft & grocery stores (thank god are right next to where the therapy is :P), sewing the Cub Scout den flag (again), cutting out tiger faces for my Tiger Cubs from foamboard stuff, getting old magazines together, printing out some more forms for the scouts (because I can't count), and hopefully cleaning a bit more before the CS meeting at 6:30 tonight.  So far, I've showered, put away 2 loads of laundry, gotten the 2 oldest ready and off to school & burned a CD for the 9 y.o. and have to go do my hair before I look like an electrocuted poodle :o  Oh, and I guess I have to feed my kids sometime in there, too ;)
