I got surprised with a DVD of the girls band performing at various shows over the last few months. Watched it a little bit ago. Very cool!  8)

So we didn't go and see Ice Age 2 at the weekend.  My daughter decided she wanted to go to Alton Towers theme park instead  ::)  Then, when I said it was abit too far to go, she remembered a part of Dak's parody (read it here ) Is this the way to Alton Towers? I've been in this car 5 hours and agreed with me.  It's actually only about an hour's drive from our house but hey!

In the end we went to Twin Lakes park which was o.k.  I ended up having to play on some huge climpbing equipment because James wasn't tall enough to go on his own.  Didn't stop him running off through various gaps that I couldn't fit through though!!

At least you came home to your dog, I'm totally confused, mine isn't here but all the doors are locked, no note, and I've called everybody who I could think might want to take her out for a walk or something.
I ought to call a few more people, but the odd thing is I was the last to leave and first to get back today  :-\\

I hate that. A few months ago, I went to get a new prescription for glasses. They INSISTED on dilating my eyes even though I didn't want them too. What good would it do? They said, "Yup, you have RP" A DUH!! I know that. In fact, I told them that-which is why they wanted to dilate my eyes. Stupid me gave in to their demands. And then, after I couldn't see because of that stuff, they decided to readjust my prescription. I was told that having my eyes dilated would not matter. Now, I feel that I can't see very well out of these glasses.  >:( >:( >:(  Next time I get new glasses and if they want to dilite my eyes, I am going to say "HELL NO!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that.  My oldest gets migraines quite a bit, but he's never had a cat scan done.  I think I'm going to get him in, though, because although he's been on preventative medicine, he's still getting them :(

She's on a medication now for something else, that could be causing the headaches. So, the medication isn't working? What kind, if you don't mind me asking?

I'd take the glasses back and tell them you can't see well.  That way, they'll check your prescription without your eyes dilated ;)

I have to go to Cub Scouts tonight and teach them how to tie knots and I'm getting a migraine.  I'd have someone else do it, but I'm the only leader so I can't >:(

I had something like that happen with the last guy I went to.  He was prescribing me contacts that I kept getting a glare with.  I went back twice and both times I had the same problem.  I eventually gave up and didn't bother to get another exam until today.

The doc thought they might be caused by sinus problems so it's just allergy medicine, but it's not working so the next step is the pediatric neurologist who will most likely order a CT scan.  I'm currently on Atenolol & Wellbutrin for mine, and I'm getting less than I was, but I still get them every few weeks or so :-\\  I've been getting them since I was 9-10 and he started at the same time so I know it's hereditary :( 

Wow, I guess I'm lucky, I've never had one. Poor little guy, it must be painful for him  :(  I hope hers turns out to just be a change of medication.

I'm not doing anything right now.  the pathetic thing is I'm here at work.  my work is done, so I'm just chilling and gettin paid to do it.  I think i have a softball game tonight, but I'm hoping it's rained out and that the fields are still too wet to play on otherwise I'm gonna get muddy and yucky.

I had a steak burrito with cheese, guacamole, and salsa, and a couple handfuls of tortilla chips. it was completely scrumptious  :)


We have a bunch of small taquerias that we go to every once in awhile for good Mexican food.  Other than that, I could live off of Chipotle :P

no, i've driven by it many times, but there's a walk in taqueria going back towards bonaza street and i used to go in there. i will try your favorite when I can.

the eat street of the world.  A friend just came to visit from NYC(she moved there from here 25 years ago).
She has traveled quite a bit and says when it comes to food Boston, and vicinity, has the best authentic everything, and its "authentic" restaurants are just that, whether it is Mexican, Indian, African, French, American etc. Probably the reason I am so pro-immigration, once again thinking of my stomach  ;D

to New York City for his birthday(15th).  This year, if I don't get called for work, we are going to do two nights in New York and three in Washington DC.  We leave saturday and I want to get the lawn and garden

yesterday I did a time management course and this morning I was at an 'organising your office' course.  So I will be busy sorting things out here.  One consequence of that will be trying to spend less time here.

You know something the damaged pier is still there in the sea gradually falling to bits, while the County Council makes up its mind what to do with it. I suspect it will eventually be preserved, but in the mean time the art shops/galleries do a roaring trade in selling paintings/posters/photographs of the structure as it is.
You know there is a larger main pier further along don't you? about a mile from the damaged one it has lots of amusement games/restaurants and fairground rides on it.

Those delicate iron and wooden framed structures wouldn't last very long if they were in the coastal area I'm from near the North Sea - we have stone built ones there

I went to Boston one time to visit a friend of mine. She took me to a place (not too sure where it was) that had just about every kind of food you wanted in one place. I was walking down this hall full of different food venders trying to decide what I wanted. I stopped looking when I came to one that sold lobster.  ;D (I will bet that you know where I am talking about).


You can get just about any kind of food you want in D.C. also. I can recommend a really good Afgani restaurant close to the National Zoo.  ;D

I went to Boston one time to visit a friend of mine. She took me to a place (not too sure where it was) that had just about every kind of food you wanted in one place. I was walking down this hall full of different food venders trying to decide what I wanted. I went to my program and saw my job coach.

Mammogram this morning, which is a good opportunity to treat myself to breakfast, and maybe even

Hmmm, I did my mate's laundry last night. He put the load in and then put it in the dryer and then I took it out and folded it. He was too sleepy. I had a long day on the job. Tonight after work (6pm) we may just eat dinner and then finish watching "Capote"

I get off work in 45min and start a 1 week vacation, but I'm not going anywhere since my kid is going to Los Angeles for a couple days,  and my wife has to work a couple of days next week, so I'm on my own to do as i please. If you guys want, we can have a big 2day party at my place.  Tonight I am planning on shopping for some clothes and shoes and whatever else I find when i get off work, and then i have a softball tournament to play tomorrow, should be 3-5 games all day tomorrow. first game at 9am, so i wont be around tomorrow until late.

I'm sorry I laughed at this Tia, but you have a way of making even horror dying incidents sound funny. Nice that you didn't need the Heimlich. My friend and I saved this 300lb dude's life at a Wendy's a few years back. He hadn't swallowed the food he was chewing and took a 2nd bite and inhaled the first bite of his Wendys TRIPLE killer burger, and he turned blue and dropped to the ground. I helpd hold him up while my friend Buster heimlichd the victim and out came that big nasty chunk of hamburger. Meanwhile the 2 othe people with him at his table never stopped eating and didn;t try to help the entire time. That was rather odd.

We went to see the spooky film An American Haunting tonight and it was excellent, starring the superb DONALD SUTHERLAND and SISSY SPACEK.  I loved the film, but now at 01.25 it's almost bedtime I suppose  :(

I forgot, I just got home from my softball tournament in Concord, Ca. and my team won the whole thing. we went 3-0 and were victorious in every game. I even played We Are The Champions in my car on the way home. Now this old guy (me) is a little sore from running, sliding, and diving after ground balls and and in need of a hot shower and some advil or tylenol, whatever I can find, but it's a good kind of soreness, and the victories make it bearable.  8)

So far I've already gone to church. I had breakfast when we got home, fiddled around a bit, took a wee little nap for an hour or so, and am now reviving myself for tonight's Easter meal with the family.

slept in, got up, made coffee, drank coffee, went to church, came home, ate lunch, assembled a green bean casserole, vaccumed carpets, made a cup of tea, and ended here at the computer with all you fine people. In an hour or so, I'll put ham in oven and will have friends over for dinner and a movie. tonights film of choice is Chariots of Fire.

Got up early and took my dad his birthday cake- chocolate on chocolate, it was delicious.  Unfortunately the halfway house hes in don't let him bring in prepared food so he couldn't take the rest with him.  Bright side.. we have it here. 8) ;D

Since midnight, I have...

1) Going back to last night... my parents had gone out to church because my mom had to sing at an Easter vigil service, which is usually at least three hours long, so they didn't get back home till after midnight. While they were gone, I spent time on the computer, did some laundry, had dinner at about 10 PM (I was not hungry until then), played some of my CD's on the downstairs stereo, and about 12:30 my parents came home.

2) Went to bed, not getting to sleep until about 1 AM.

3) Woke up just before 8 AM, getting less than 7 hours of sleep altogether.

4) Ate breakfast.

5) Went to church; my mom had to sing. While Mom and I were at church, my dad went to go pick up my grandma and bring her out with us.

6) Went to a Macaroni Grill restaurant to have an Easter lunch.

7) Came home.

8) Posted on the computer.

9) And later on, I plan to walk my dog, and possibly study.

Today, I go back to school (after being off for a week)!

It's incredible isn't it 27 days!!  they do seem to get soo many holidays at this school, the odd thing is it was classed as their Easter break, but they started the holiday on 23 March and come back this Wednesday19 - 2 days after Easter Monday??  Personally I think it makes more sense if they'd moved it all a week ahead.

I go to a community college, which isn't quite a university but more of a transitional thing until you get to where you wanna go. People make fun of my college as it's LMC (Los Medanos College), but people call it "Last Minute Choice" SO unfair!  >:(  ;D

Sunderland is the only place in the UK which has it's easter holidays later than everyone else. everyone else's easter holidays will have been from Monday 27th, but ours was from the 10th April.

Anyways. Quite enjoyed my night at work, wasn't half as bad as I was expecting it to be. Tomorrow I need to start getting my things ready for the caravan... and get a harcut  ;D

Now waiting for friends to come by so we can go out to dinner for friends birthday, and then coming back to my place for dessert and presents for the birthday girl.

I think most places I know of usu. have it during Holy Week so they can make Good Friday a non-work day.

It's a small bird.  They've also made a nest at the top of our chimney.  It's not looking like it's going to be cheap to get them out, either as the CHEAPEST I've found is around $150 >:(  DAMN BIRDS!!!


I'll do it for less than that.

ummmm.....I wouldn't recommend setting a fire in my vent :o  The chimney one doesn't really bother me since there's a wire mesh cover so they can't get inside, but I'm afraid they'll come all the way in the vent and sometime when I turn the fan on, I'm gonna' have birdie stir fry :o

I have to work tomorrow so I just made arrangements for my sister to take Jake to the Aquarium, it's school vacation and I had planned on taking him.  I told her I'm paying for it, she kinda protested, but she hasn't taken a child to the museum and doesn't realize that it is 17.50 per ticket, and extra 14.50 each if he wants to go in the IMAX theater(which we do when we go), then, because it involves going in town and she has a bad hip, there is parking for the 2 or 3 hours they will be there it should run about 20+ dollars, then out to lunch, that should be about 10 each(easy).  So we are talking a 100+day to visit the Aquarium(without a trip to the gift shop).  I find the price of this all so obscene, and can't imagine what people with 2,3, and 4 kids do. 

Just finished some work at home on the computer, of which will earn me sometime of work.

Had to go to work on my day off  >:(  Went and bought some flower seeds and in the process of planting them in some seed starting pots and hopefully they won't die.

Oh and Khali.. is enormous.

Cena is a similar kind of size to me.. he's 6'1 like me and probably outweighs me by about 10-15 lbs right.. well Khali makes him look like a dwarf. Literally, he makes him look like Mysterio.
I have not seen Khali, and am sure I won't miss him if he's on. I used to watch faithfully but have missed much tv because I've spent the tv time on the computer at inthe00s. and now I can get all my WWE updates right here at the board from you.

I watched the Benchwarmers today. it was fun, some laughs, if you like jokes about boogers, farts, spitting, vomit, wedgies and titty twisting. And the nerd kids play baseball games against the bully kids.

Just got back from Reno this afternoon.  When we drove up on Saturday, the weather was fine.. however, a snowstorm came through on Sunday and the highway we needed to take going home was closed, so we had to stay an extra day.  It was fun, though even though I lost about $500.

Glad you had fun...not glad you lost $500.  Must have been a pretty big snowstorm to close down the 80.  Did you play in the snow too?

I went to the beach for about 1 1/2 hours.  Then the moving company came over to inventory our things.  Then I talked to my sister for about 2 1/2 hours.  Since then I've been looking for some flowers for my mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day.

I go to a community college, which isn't quite a university but more of a transitional thing until you get to where you wanna go. People make fun of my college as it's LMC (Los Medanos College), but people call it "Last Minute Choice" SO unfair!  >:(  ;D

Well...I did laundry this morning and then this afternoon, I took Vaughn shopping for some summer clothes, and then we went to lunch and then to the playground. Now, I am leaving in about an hour to go to my Weight Watchers meeting (I decided to join to lose some weight). ;)

You did?  Oh of course you're a trainee chef arntcha - that's so cool, a man who can cook..are you gonna do patisserie training too?  I'd like a chocolate cake sent over please.  :)

I cut some flowers from my yards and took a drive to Manteca, Ca., picked up a friend who I grew up with and went to cemetary to place at my moms grave and at her husbands. He died 2 years ago and she hadn't been there yet to see the headstone and it was a really good thing for my friend. Had burgers and fries at Fosters Freeze, then went to an old church that's been converted to the local museum and had a good time enjoying the towns history. and came home where wife is quietly napping and I'm trying to decide whether to do some chores.

I have to go to the Oakland airport and pick up my kid, so I'll see all you fine people later  8)

Thanks for that tip. I should've read this post before I left. Wowee... a $54 meal - just for me! She and I do these sorts of meals very rarely, so I thought it would be okay for this one time. But, she goes on her own and spends this money on meals quite often - I don't know how she makes it.. lol We had a great time. Got to catch up on a lot of girly talk. By the time we were done, we were stuffed and she thought she was going to hurl up her meal,  :o  ;D All $63 of it down the toilet.

Anyway.. that was sweet of you to put the flowers on her grave. I'm sure she's with you every day, watching over you.  :)

hey Kristen, you had to kick down some serious cash at V.S., but the food was probably excellent. The restaurant is a hangout for the Walnut Creek elite, and there you were, right in the midst, unless you are one of them  :o thanks for the thought on my dear mom, I enjoy taking flowers and having memories of her. I did drive alot today, and am tired but I'm on vacation this week, so I don't have to get up for work. My daughter is safely tucked in her bed, thanks. Julie thinks she's some sort of jet-setting traveller now that she's flown alone.
