Had lunch with a friend. It was great. I haven't seen her for awhile. We were there for about 3 hours-not only were we catching up with each other, we were also gossiping with the waitress.  ;D ;D  We really had a wonderful time.

Had the day off, which turned out to be a snow day for school. So, my daughter was home. It was nice actually spending some time together. Went to Target, bought some stuff for my other daughters new house. 

Later on, I'll be taking my son to his T-Ball practice (since my hubby will be playing hockey at the same time)...

I went to my group therapy and spent time with an old friend.

I had my classes, then had lunch, came on the 'puter and posted on this board, and then did some volunteer work (for the first time in at least a couple weeks).

I spent the day at my parent's house...and then came home and made dinner.

I worked the usual 8hour day, stopped at grocery store on way home, and then came home and  cleaned house for my Texas Hold Em poker game tonight. Me, my wife and 3 of our friends are gonna get into a friendly $10 game of poker. winner gets $30, 2nd place gets $20 and got some good snacks, munchies, and drinks so it should be a fun Friday night and I won't be here much since I'll be trying to win some cash.  ;)

As for me, had a very busy day. The guys came at 8:30 this morning to do work on the furnace. Then the cleaning crew came in. I was supposed to have a dentist appointment this afternoon at 2 but they called this morning asking if I could go in earlier (12:30). Right before I was about to leave, my sister called me with another "crisis" of my mother's. I told her that I couldn't do anything about it just then because I was walking out the door. After going to the dentist, I tried to call my mother-no answer. (Yes, she is still in the hospital.) I did a little on-line search but couldn't find out much info. Tried my mother again and still no answer. I called my sister back only to find out, the "crisis" wasn't really a crisis and it all worked out-it was about my mother moving another facility.  Come to find out, I was calling the wrong # for my mother (which is why she didn't answer). I called her and she wanted me to talk to her for about 45 minutes because she had to sit in a chair for that long and she has trouble seeing so she can't read or watch t.v. So, I chatted with her so she didn't fall asleep. So now, I have a little time to post before poker with the guys tonight.

Man, am I tired!

Carlos is an Iron Chef  ;)  I like my male counterparts that love to cook, and especially the ones that do it well and take pride in it, which it sounds like he does. We love to see that look and the sounds of enjoyment as people dig in.

He is an excellent chef. When I first moved in here, I gained 20 lbs. (But then again, I was VERY thin and living on microwavable dinners.  ::) )  I think in all the years he has cooked for me, he may have made only botched up a few dinners.

He's certainly got the roots for gumbo. I was born in Fort Polk Louisiana, didn't live there long, but I like the idea of the cajun, bayou, louisiana cuisine in my roots too. I probably won't use the gumbo file' because I like mine the way it is.

My sister and I went to The Forum at Peachtree, which was a lot of fun.  We hadn't been there before, so it was nice to walk around and see what was there.  Yesterday, we spent all day cleaning our bathroom, and that included scrubbing the floors, walls, tub, toilet, sink, mirror, cabinets and counter.  I think we were in there for about 6 hours in total.  Thank God it's done.

Well, this morning I taught pre-school/sunday school in church and then went out to lunch with my family...then we went over to my parent's house to help them with some stuff.

Tomorrow there's a strike taking place, and there are a number of schools, colleges and universities closed for it. Thankfully, my sixth form is one of them so tomorrow me and a few mates are going for a game of footie at the nearby sports centre

the pink flamingos on his lawn.  He doesn't know about them, he'll be surprised and will get a chuckle out of them.  :)

I've came home with a cracked toenail, a scrape on each arm (one of which goes from my elbow to my wrist), extremely sore arms and legs, a headache and absolutely caked in mud, but I really enjoyed it. I guess it is hitting several fronts. We lost a dear co-worker here at my job who was manager of Systems and pretty much helped control the computers and kept them in good running order. He'll be missed. I'm still in shock that he passed so quickly. I guess he had a heart attack while doing a race/walk marathon in San Jose over the weekend.

One of my best friend's mother had passed away a year ago today. She seems to be doing okay from what I can tell.

I just don't get it  ::)

I'm gonna hang here another 15min, then try to get to bed a little bit earlier tonight, so I can be rested up for tomorrow. I really need to workout when I get home from work tomorrow since the softball season is almost in full swing. (pun intended) I'll be playing in Hayward this weekend.

Yeah, I think the last few I've been to have been night games which I really enjoy because the air is nice and warm *like in July* and a gentle breeze moves in and it's just lovely! I've been to about 4 games with fireworks and one time I got to out on the field and watch them from the grass and after they were over, we went out to the dugout and ran the bases.

Sorry.. went on a tangent there... now back to normal broadcasting..

I went to my program

Not much since last posting here. Spoke to some peeps on messenger, posted blasphemus images, you know? the usual... :D

Going out on my bike for a few hours if the strong headwinds die down  :(

Just the usual at work.  I've got a bit behind in things I need to do because I was on strike on Tuesday and spent yesterday afternoon learning to be a fire marshal.  We got to play with the fire extinguishers.

Tonight I am going to a leaving meal for one of the researchers.  He is going back to Japan after spending a couple of years here.  It means mssing my pilates class tonight but sometimes you have to make sacrifices don't you  ;)

Try to get over this cold.  The weather here is absolutely gorgeous, but I am stuck in the house feeling absolutely lousy  :(

So anyway, I had a full day planned in which much work was going to be done.

Then at about 10 past 8 this morning.. the whole left side of my left big toe POPPED. Literally I banged it in to the side of the washbasin cupboard when I got out of the shower and it just went "ppphhoooaaarrpphh' all this blood and puss oozed out and now It hurts like hell.

I decided, there are some things I can do at home so I'm gonna have a rest day (seeing as walking is v.painful) and finish typeing up the report I started like 2 weeks ago and then I suppose I could hobble downstairs, finish my ironing (It's a huge pile now), spend some quality time with the dog, go through my mail and see if I need to pay anything (probably), Get in touch with the NSCAA about my qualifications.. That's about it for now. I'll think of more things as the day goes on.

Well...just finished mopping the kitchen floor, putting dinner in the slow cooker, laundry, and getting Vaughn off for his nap...when he gets up we are going to the playground, the store, then to pick up Chris....and tonight we have to help my parents with some stuff.

So far to day, woke up, worked, slept and woke up again.

Today I had to turn in a paper for my geography class. I didn't have to do extensive research for it; all I had to do was write about a geographical region and incorporate the various themes discussed in class. I chose to write about the neighborhood which I live in; seemed simple enough.

I volunteered today.

I'm going to Kaspers  for lunch with a friend to get hot dogs  :)

Had my hair done. I walked there and back and enjoyed this BEAUTIFUL weather we are having-WITHOUT a coat!  :o

Staying up a bit later than usual tonight because I get to have a nice lie-in tomorrow morning. My mam says it's okay to skip tomorrow morning's liturgy (I convinced her of it's pointlessness), so i'm gonna go to school in time for English period 4 (11:50am), which means I get to lie-in until 11am  8)

Better still, since as it's Friday I get to go home early too!  :D

Ready to leave work in about 2 1/2 hours. Work has been busy. Schoolwork will have to abound tonight and after veiwing my hair the last few days, I've made the realization that I can't stand my hair being very long. It takes too much time to handle and it gets too straggly too easily. I may get a haircut (especially hearing that CatwomanofV had one, too)

Ahhh, good for you :0) It's technically a 2 day weekend because I still have to work 5 days this week and 5 days next week. But Easter will be coming around and Spring break at that, so I will have a little more time on my hands :0)

I think we're going to the mall today, but I don't know.  I hate going to the mall when I don't have a lot of money because it just makes me feel bad.

This morning at 10.30am I drove back down to the South of England after I'd decided to take all my pictures and Art stuff up to my house on Thursday afternoon - it was a spur of the moment thing and a 500 mile round trip.

Amazingly I just missed a 5 car pile up (in torrential rain) on the notorious M25 by 20 minutes..I swear to this day I have a Guardian Angel.  

Also went with my friend to see HUGH CORNWELL x of THE STRANGLERS in an informal gig last night performing his solo stuff..

;D Yeah, I'm about to go on Spring Break after this week's sessions, so I feel like it's going to really ruin me as far as remembering stuff come finals, lol I also have been working heavily (nearly 40 hour weeks), so I feel like I've been ran over by a truck.

My wife just got home from the grocery store and has advised me that there's a chicken on the counter that needs a good roastin and that I've been chosen as the guy to do it.  I've got one of those vertical roasters that you shove up the chicken and it cooks upright, so I guess I better use my kitchen wizardry and pick out some good poultry seasonings and get to shovin and roastin'.  8)

Went to the Dr. with my dad, to find out more about his possible dialysis. Then took mom and dad and sis out to lunch, went to visit my neice and her two kids, and then my nephew and his wife and two kids. It was nice to catch up with everyone, except I didn't get to see my other nephew who was at work. But, I guess I'll see everyone else at Easter dinner.

It's Midnight and I'm going to make a nice big mug of hot tea for the last hour or so that I hang out here. In the morning I will be taking my daughter to school at 730am, she got her license and has been driving but her singing group from school is leaving for Los Angeles for 5 days to perform at some of their sister schools down there and so I need to take her since we don't want her leaving her car at school. Then going out to dinner with a couple from our church that wants to go out for a nice italian dinner after work.

well....so far I have scrubbed the floors, vacuumed the livingroom, prepared dinner (in the slow cooker), cleaned up the kitchen/dining/living rooms, done a few loads of laundry....and it's only 10 am.  Later tonight Chris has to go to a technical rehearsal for our Easter play, and Beth, Vaughn, and I are probably hanging out while he is doing that.

I'm going for some really good mexican food and then off to the Continental to see a band.

Me and Chris went to take a look at 2 flats for short term rental in Brighton. On walking through the door of the first one, I took one look at the damp walls and broken electric switches and said 'OK sorry but I've seen enough.' and left.    The second one was not much better, infact we arrived early, took a critical look at it from the outside and decided it was probably lousy and stinking inside too.
Oh didn't mention the bum hanging out of the window of the first flat - smoking hash, it stunk!!   :D
