Well....we took Beth to work earlier and then stopped up to visit my grandma for the afternoon.  Then...I picked up Chris from work, dropped him and Vaughn off at the house, and went and walked 2 miles (it felt good to get back into walking again). Then...we got dinner and have been home ever since.

Tomorrow 2 friends are coming over to meet me so we can go to Manteca, Ca. to do a couple of things. First I'll be taking some flowers to the gravesite of my mother. She passed away in 1988 at the young age of 57. Then we'll have lunch. That is where I grew up as a boy/teen/young man. It was a small town of 12,500, now close to 70,000. unbelievable!!!  After lunch we're going to have our pictures taken for the Big League Dreams softball complex that's being built there. Once built we will play ball there. If you look at the pics you'll notice what looks like fans in the bleachers, but it is just painted backdrops to look like real major league ballparks. If this is true, it your father won't let anyone leave the house, then you have a problem, a huge one, that will only escalate.
You have to get some outside feedback on your father and his actions, if not for your own sake for your Moms.

After a 'healthy' 2 hours sleep last night, I went to work another 6am shift, followed by a trip down to my nanas for my dinner. Then me and my mam went shopping, then when I got home I collapsed on my bed about 3pm, and just woke up about 10 minutes ago. No plans for tonight, but I don't have to bed in bed early because it's half term and I don't have school or work tomorrow  8)

So yesterday (Saturday the 11th), I went to the mall in the morning; my dad and I had some Valentines Day shopping to do. I got a card for my mom, and then I went over to See's Candies to get a little bag of heart-shaped chocolates wrapped in red foil. (Every Valentine's Day for the last ten years, I've been giving them out to all the girls I like.)

Then in the evening, I had to go to Santa Monica; I was being honored with hundreds of other young adults for my work and contributions to the young adult events from last summer. I received an award for it. Afterwards there was a party with food and music and all the good stuff. A lot of fellow young adults I knew were there, too...it was lots of fun. And I didn't get home until almost midnight, so I couldn't talk about it at all yesterday. On here, that is.

I walked/ran 2.60 miles on my treadmill while listening to Alanis and ELO. that is the highlight of my day. whoopdee doo  :D  At about 2miles I started getting a euphoric endorphin high from working out. My plan is to work my way up to 3-4 miles, 3-4 times a week.

Went to a birthday lunch for my friend Maree.  Her two sisters also joined us and we went to a winery for wine tasting, bought some lovely wine and then had lunch there.  We had a couple of antipasto platters.  The weather was terrific and we sat out on the terrace.  My idea of a perfect lunch.  :)

Not sure :-\\ I don't hang around there very often; the last time (before last Saturday) when I passed through Santa Monica was August 2002, when I went to a friend's wedding at LMU. But I like to travel on PCH; it's very scenic.

I'm told on of the advantages of not marrying them is that they continue to do what it takes to hold on to you.
Of course these are obligatory flowers and candies, I said in another post some non-obligatories would be nice, but
that doesn't happen.  I worked with a woman whose husband gave her a flower every week to put on her desk.  If
I could find one like him then maybe I would be more prone to saying yes.    ;)

Well, the one time I got flowers from hubby was our 1st anniversary so we were already married.  He "doesn't do flowers"....I suppose I shouldn't complain because he DOES 'do' jewelry ;)  It would just be nice to get them once in awhile :-\\

I had my computer-related classes today. I think I will enjoy them. They are basically a review of things I'm familiar with, but a lot has changed with Windows operating systems in the last five years, so I will learn some new things.

I treadmilled 30min, not a long workout, just under 2miles, but it's late and that makes 3 nights in a row. I was telling my friend that my impending 50th birthday is my main motivation plus the fact that softball season is almost here. I am feeling it building into a routine which is good, makes it easier to get on the thing. Now I'm finishing up the night with a workout on the keyboard.

At wrok today ,usual sort of stuff.  Tonight my mum and dad are coming to babysit so hubby and I can go out.  We are going on a ghost walk around Derby city centre.

Think I'll take a ride up the coast and get myself a Powerball ticket.  If I win biggest the 00's reunion is on me  ;)

well..today I went to the driver's license center to get my updated license and my picture taken (YUCK...I hate it), then we went over to my parent's house for dinner and now we are home.

Today I'm working. I got in later than I wanted today (around 11:25am) and have had some frustrating customers, but it may be because I'm just very, very tired of my job and the routine of it. The only thing I have motivation for lately is that I'm making my goal this month by 133% !! So, that adds up for a nice check next month - just in time for Spring Break and Tax time, when I should also be getting a decent Federal and State Tax refund.

I am possibly meeting my mate tonight but I don't have a clue as to what we'll be doing. It would be good to get some homework done tonight, but I'll see how I feel. I feel like seeing a movie for some reason - it's been awhile.

At work today.  Not long finished a lab session with a bunch of undergrads.  The whole experiment is described on a sheet and each group had an explanation of the procedure from one of the helpers.  One group still managed to do it all wrong though!  Maybe if they'd listened more and gossiped less it would work.

Tonight we're whizzing down to the in-laws for the weekend.  Still haven't packed

Mod cuz' I forgot the stupid Cub Scouts meeting tonight that is supposed to be for parents/den leaders only, but hubby's gonna be really late tonight as he's teaching a telecom class for one of his customers so my kids are going to have to come and if people don't like it, OH WELL ::)

Yesterday I did have one of those fruity drinks with the paper unbrella in it.  ;D (A pina colada).  That was after I bought myself a new swim suit and before I broke the new swim suit in.  We went to a beach that we haven't gone before. It was kind of cool because you walked out on this pier and it was went around in a square-creating a pool of ocean water. They had a fence around it so no big fish could get in.

We had a excellent lunch today, a chinese banquet and then everyone came over to my place for birthday cake and presents, celebrating birthdays for my bro-in-law, his wife, and me. All 3 of us are the same age and always celebrate together. The kids watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory while we drank coffee and talked at the table. They left, and our friends are coming over tonight to play cards (Wild Horse Rummy) and have some pizza. I'm sleepin in tomorrow for sures.

well...this morning I ran some errands (post office, bank, grocery shopping)...then in the afternoon Chris and I ate chinese for lunch and went to see a movie (BTW, don't waste your money on "Date Movie"...it was La-la-la LAME)...then in the evening I worked for about 4 hours or so on my Ebay listings, etc...and now I am here.

My boyfriend's roommates live atop a hill in Lafayette and we had this fantastic view of Mt. Diablo and the snow-cap. It was so pretty. I felt like I had been transported to where the Olympics are, lol. I'll try and post my poor attempts of getting the snow captured. If it continues to be as cold as it has been, then there should definetly be snow up there until the next few days.

I saw my dad this morning, they let him outta the halfway house for the morning.

First day of Tech. (University) - what a bore.  :P Each class lasted about 10-15 minutes, leaving about 45-50 minutes of sitting around waiting.

slept in to 1015am, but I didn't go to bed until 4am. I went to auto parts store and got the parts to change wiper blades and brake light on my daughters car. I mowed my front lawn, fertilized and watered it, went to store to get food for dinner, sliced up a bunch of garlic and am marinating shrimp to go with linguini tonight. now for a little down time. I'm gonna go finish watching my king fu dvd.

Went to the gym (yes it was open) for my usual 50 minute workout, bought a few groceries and am now online while listening to my ipod.

well....yesterday when we came home in the afternoon, we noticed that there was water gushing out of something, only to find out that one of our pipes burst in the laundry room because it was frozen and old. :( Today, we got up early and went over to my in laws house..Chris had to be a pallbearer in his brother-in-laws grandma's funeral today...so we spent the most part of the morning/early afternoon there. Then we went and got our taxes completed...and then for the remainder of the night, Chris and his 2 brothers worked on replacing the broken pipe, and now it is back to normal! :)

I went to my day program.

I went to my computer classes and worked on lab assignments...which will be due on Monday.

Well Hell's Bells!! I was gonna leave a half hour ago to take my car in for minor service, but I got stuck here having fun on the board and now am thinking about not going. I better go do it. Then I'm going to see my long lost friends from 30 years ago when we were high schoolers. that's gonna be fun.

I volunteered today.

I took my car in for service and was out in less than an hour. Then I drove to Manteca, Ca. to have lunch with 2 of my closest friends from the early 70's. I picked them up at their house and all 3 of us were practically speechless. geez, 30 years since we'd last seen each other and partied like maniacs and now we had a reunion in 2006. We had a wonderful lunch of tri-tip sandwiches at the local brewery/restaurant that used to be the old theatre we used to go see movies at. It was quite a nolstalgic, memorable day, and a great way to spend my birthday.

No plans made yet-we may visit some of Carlos' relitives on our way to the beach. And of course, poker after dinner.

I cleaned the house real good, picked up Chris...came home and had dinner...watched a movie, and now I am here.

I went to the gym for my usual 50 minute treadmill run, bought dinner for the whole family and went home to catch up on my mail and email. I also looked up calorie charts for foods I typically eat and now I have an update sense on what and how much I should eat from where.

Went to the grocery store.  Checked out some women.  This one blonde in particular. The usual, basically.

I do have mixed emotions about it. I am sorry to leave my sister-in-law and father-in-law (I have the best in-laws in the world  ;D ) and I will miss this beautiful island but I am looking forward to getting home. I miss my cats very much. And of course, there is no place like home.

Absolute zilch!

I'm making Sloppy Joe's for my Texas Hold-em poker pals that are coming over to play cards. we're gonna be playing for a few hours, and then tomorrow after church is the funeral service for my daughters classmate who lost her life on Thursday. It's gonna be in the gym at the high school and there is probably going to be a lot of people there to show support. That is so heartbreaking. Anyway, having the boys over tonight, and hopefully I win their money.  8)

Back from the train trip to LA.  Had a wonderful time, the weather was great, so was the food and we saw some of the touristy sights.
Now I am going to have breakfast, put on all my warm clothes(it is bitter cold out) and shovel the driveway. :o

Went to church in the morning, I taught the 2 year old preschool class...then we went out to lunch with my mom and sister...then went over to my parent's house for the rest of the afternoon...came home and sent invoices (my auctions ended)..and now I am here.

Today I went to church with my parents in the morning (my mom sings just about every weekend, and periodically my dad lectors (reads from the scripture; today he was scheduled to do that)), and then had brunch at a hotel restaurant...and came home. Since I've been home, I've taken the dog for a walk, and did some more resting. I should feel better by tomorrow.

Went to church in the morning, ate lunch, found a couple of CD's at a local garage sale, went to Henry's Marketplace then came home. Afterwards I helped out my mother with the gardening and cooking.

I played hooky from church this morning and slept in. Me and my wife, Lady Di went to the saddest funeral I have ever been to, and as strong and tough and cool I may think I am or try to be, seeing that 16year old girl in a casket, wacthing her mom sob uncontrollably, watching her classmates weep made me shed some tears of my own, something I haven't done in awhile. Then we came home, I cleaned up the mess from my late night poker party. I won $20 bucks, took 2nd place  out of 5. Did I mention I slept in, now I feel guilty  ::)

I did not a thing all day, but one of my friends are having problems with his wife.... so we went out to play Golden Tee Live....

rejection sticker and went and fixed it myself.  I went back today to get the sticker since I had fixed the problem and they were going
to reject me again!  For the new wipers!  They said they didn't fall flat enough on the windsheild.  Then they wanted to know why I didn't
have them fix it when I was initially rejected.  I told them that there wasn't any way I would give them a penny for anything beyond the sticker, that the whole thing was a scam, they could reject me again if they wanted.  The owner asked to see the print out from when I had brought it in since it states why I was rejected, he read it, then didn't want to give it back. I told him I had a copy of it anyway(I did), and they could reject me if they want, I didn't have any qualms about taking it somewhere else and paying for an inspection somewhere else to
see what they said about the rejection.  I got the sticker.

Since it's Monday, I'm gonna have my computer courses at the community college. So far, they're both going well. ;)

I'd forgotten about the pancake thing,(but then there is a lot that has been jettisoned by the brain)when I was a kid we would do that.

We have a "pest control" service that comes and "takes care of them".  I had originally contracted with them to spray for those stupid Japanese beetles and wasps and, to my delight, found out that the contract includes ALL pest control.  The last time they came out (last week), they found 2 dead ones....one was sticking out of the bait box...and hubby had found one the prior weekend (hence the trip last week) stuck to the wall :o  Hubby thinks it's hilarious that I'm deathly afraid of them....to the point I will vomit if I see one dead or alive (like I did last week) :o  Needless to say, I try and avoid that room at all costs :-\\

We have pest control too, she's named Jello, our dog!  ;D  Really, she tries. Sometimes if she hears something in the kitchen, she'll post watch, just lay by the doorway and stare into the kitchen for sometimes an hour at a time. It's hilarious! I have a picture of her actually catching one, but I won't show it to you, because it'll probably make you sick!  :P  ;) 

I have a few mice that come and go, field mice seem to be much easier to be rid of.  The pests that are really driving me nuts are

ewww....doesn't sound like fun.  When hubby had his accident and his airbag deployed, there was powder EVERYWHERE. :(

It had a pretty bad smell, I guess from the air bag powder or something, but it wasn't bad, she didn't have too much in there, we just took the cd player out and her parking pass, and some little stuff and got the license plates off of it. Now, we need to find her another cheap car, unless she gets her license suspended, since she's a minor, then she won't be needing a car for awhile.

I started to watch a movie "The Phantom Of the Paradise" my friend at work loaned it to me and then my bro-in-law came by and visited so I'll have to resume the flick tomorrow after work.

today I am in an internet cafe about two minutes from where I live...(back in brighton with my dad now)

Go to the pediatrician and have the medical release signed so Jake can be in this weekends basketball tournament.  Weekend affair, overnight at a hotel, dance, and basketball. Absolute magic in his eyes.  :)

My MIL is coming today so hubby and I can go back to Minneapolis to see INXS so I need to clean up a bit more, pack, then Market Day is this afternoon (and I REALLY don't want to go :-\\)
INXS with the new singer that won the job from the tv show? It wont be the same, but should be entertaining, reminds me of the movie rock star where they get a new lead singer.
I am gonna hit the shower, have some coffee, make a lunch for work. you know, that daily thing.

well...today I did some things around the house...finished packaging auction items...went to the post office, picked up Chris, picked up dinner...came home....picked up our refund check, dropped off some movies, went to a class...and then...on the way home, I was about an inch away from running directly into a deer. I was about a mile from my house and I saw up a few cars ahead of me that they were stopped for some crossing deer...so I waited a while, then it looked like the coast was clear...I started driving and all of a sudden...the biggest deer I have ever seen ran straight across my path...I slammed on the brakes and I was about an eyelash away from hitting it....phew...that was close! :-\\

Last night I saw my friends' new baby. Tonight I"m cooking for 5, then band practice.
Tomorrow I"m going to do EVERYTHING at work so I can have a very very calm Monday morning.

I overslept and should be at work right now!  but I'll hang out here at home and go in a little later.

Had my classes this morning and now I'm here on the 'puter.

After my second class was over, i went to the library and did some posting on this site...but then I saw a girl who I know across from me; it was the first time I had seen her since May...so I went to go talk to her and I told her about my life since the last time we saw each other. She was doing some research for a paper she had to write; when she was done, we had some lunch together. Then I came back over here to do more posting.

I gotta log off pretty soon! :o
