I'm trying so hard to get some work done while it's slow.  I have to be majorly rushed to accomplish anything and I hate it!  At 1:30 I am going to work really hard until 4:00 pm so I don't suffer Tuesday.


You sound a lot like me - I get rather complacent without little to do and then when there are things to be done in a hurry, my adrenaline comes in and I start freakin' out - So, I'm always finding ways to avoid that pressure and get work done on a more balanced scale.

I volunteered and later went to talk with my Job Coach in the afternoon. :)

I just got home from work, and soon I will be going to bed for an early (by my standards) night. I think another 3am night would really do damage...

I enjoy seeing family and friends enjoy good food. Watching the cooking channels all the time and it  seems that the majority of cooks are men. We're gonna eat good this evening when our friends arrive. I just put a standing rib roast in the oven. It's a late xmas get together with the fellow vacationers since we didn't get a chance to exchange gifts, we will do it tonight.

Well...we spent the weekend up at the campgrounds with some of our family and friends. We had a lot of fun! I was so tired today because Vaughn got me up at like 5 am and I only had like 3 hours of sleep...so after we came home today, I took a nice long nap! :)

My husband's New Years Resolution was to start eating healthier... and mine was to start trying new foods..  So I'll be searching the internet today for some new, healthy-ish recipes that actually sound appetizing. :)

I had today off from work, so I am trying to motivate myself to do some housework. Yet, most of what I'd like to do is outside, but as some of you may know, California is currently getting drenched by the Pineapple Express.

Well..today I cleaned and started taking down decorations and moving Vaughn's gifts up to his playroom, so that I can see my diningroom floor once again.  I went grocery shopping, and now we have a meeting tonight.

We still have our tree and the decorations up...we'll take 'em down later this week.

Anyway, we watched the Tournament of Roses Parade this morning and had a special French toast breakfast (actually, brunch, since we ate it around 11:00)...and now we're inside trying to stay warm!

well, I like them. I like the fact that they aren't dripping with grease, like every other place that serves them. Quizno's subs are disgusting....when you eat them...all of the grease from the sandwich runs down your face...as is the same for most sub/pizza shops.  I like Subway because you don't feel like a pig after eating a sandwich there...and it's a lot lower fat than eating at McDonalds, etc.

I think Subway is ok. I don't like the bread.

I like Subway much better than Quizno's... but I like Togos better than Subway.

Today me and my friends went bowling.. then I had a driving lesson (it went well!). Came home, made myself something to eat, now i'm just gonna sit and chill until tonight when the season finale of Lost is on  :o

I woke up and got ready for work and got to work around 10am. Would have liked to have come in earlier, but I couldn't get my lazy butt outta bed. I'll be working untill 6pm.

On second thought, I'm hoping I locked my boyfriend's roomates front door right. He had the deadlock on, but that's rare. I don't know if that can be done from the outside as I've never tried it. So, I locked it without the deadlock and hoping I don't get reprimended for it! It's an odd door - one of those "modern" kinds.

Well....a few of our breakers went out this morning...I tried everything to get them turned back on, as I was attempting to cook dinner and all of the plugs were out in the kitchen...so I kept calling Chris at work, and he was giving me instructions on what to do...but it wasn't working...so unfortunately....he had to come home and miss a day of work, because when I tried to plug my crockpot into another plug...it sparked and more stuff went out.  So, wouldn't you know it...he comes home...flips a few switches..and it works for him! NO FAIR~ :(

Well, last night I got home before my boyfriend did so I started making our sloppy joes (he calls them "Slappy Joes") so I got it all ready by the time he got there and I felt rather accomplished. I felt even better when he ate at least 4 of them and finished off the saucepan that had the remaining sloppy joe in it. We also had corn on the side, too, which was tasty.

Today he left off for work and I cleaned up some bit and then left and am now visiting with mom. She's resting at the moment, but I've got to run a few errands for her as she's not been well enough to do them herself.

Well I woke up around 2 am this morning as my husband has had this awful chest cold. His cough has been really bad at night. I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and made coffee around 3 am. I signed on and played some of the  games here. Around 5 am I decided to put my coffee buzz to good use and I  gave my computer room, desk area and cluttered bookcases a good cleaning. Then I moved to the livingroom and cleaned in there.  I then started to update my new address book. I got to  J-K, when I decided I should take a shower. By this time the Pittsburg /Cincinatti Game is starting. It's  now 4:20 pm CST, and Cincinatti leads Pitt 10-0  at the start of the 2nd quarter. Hubby is camped out on the couch .. I decided to come in and sign on again, while I sort socks. Ah.. the feeling of accomplishment on a Sunday afternoon.  :) I will most likely retire early as I have to work in the morning.

Today we took down all our outside Christmas lights and put them away.

I found a few rolls of film that had been laying around and took them to get developed. Only to find out, one hadn't even been used, and the other was from Christmas 4 years ago. Went to the grocery, and then watched the Bengals get their butt kicked and listened to my husband's choice words through most of the game.  ;D He's not too happy right now.

Played in the arcade most of the day. AHHHH Sundays.

Actually, I AM jealous.  :)  I love to alphabetize.  Must be the librarian in me, either that or I'm being demonically-possessed by a secretary/office administrator (whatever the pc term for the occupation is now).

I grew up with that, too!  My mother(and now me) always took them down in the afternoon on New Years
Day, but the to have them up after the twelfth was understood as welcoming ill fortune for the coming year.  We had a family friend who would always show up early New Years morning, too.  The superstition was that the first person to enter the house should be a male.  I don't know where that came from, but that was another custom the was rigorously followed.

'First Footing' is more of a Scottish tradition.  I don't know why it is a man but I recall also that he should be dark-haired and bring gifts of coal, salt and bread.

Well at least I know it wasn't something they just made up, sometimes I did wonder because we were the only ones that I knew of who kept that tradition.

I just looked up "First Footing" on google and it gave me a good rundown on the tradition.  What is even
better is that it also involves cleaning the house on New Years Day, and that is also a tradition my mother, and now I carry on.  I don't know which side of the family this came from, but it is wierd thinking that this has been passed on down the generations without knowing the story behind it.

School was pretty average today, but then my driving lesson went really well. I'm gaining a lot more confidence now on busier roads, and even my instructor says that it won't be too long before i'm driving myself home  ;)

Tonight I think I might start working on the heap of coursework that I have. Although the deadlines for them differ from Early February to the end of term, I think it would be beneficial to get a headstart - you know, so i'm not rushing at the last minute again  ::)

What if they're just generic "winter" decorations?  Such as snowmen, etc.?  I have my "Christmas related" ones down (trees, santas, etc.) but all of my snowmen are still out and usually stay out until sometime in February.....


I reckon that would also be a British/American difference.  I don't know anyone who puts out different ornaments just because its a different season but I gather that it is fairly common in America

I did the stupidest thing, but it wasnlt my fault.

I had to get a new ID so the word is that Ii have to go to the city office and get a new photo.
I get there, it's not open till 11.
then he says my picture is on file and zoooom...here's the new one.
it took about 7 mintues.

then I had to wait for co workers so we could take the company van back to the office.

We took our ornaments down on Monday night...we still have to put most of our ornaments back in their boxes. Today I helped take some more Christmas decorations.

It is approaching 60 degrees in the Boston area in January.  I think I will go outside and just stand there  :)

I"m going to get ready for a showcase at 9 (so our band can  get booked at this restaurant)
and then, maybe, go to bed.

Finally have a day off, but.. I'm not really doing anything on said day off. Just drama practice tonight.

Just been to a Health and Safety meeting at work, now I'm working in one of the reading romms until 7pm.Loooooooong day *sigh*

Work from 10am-6pm. Have had bad allergies today. They seem to have dwindled down now, but my nose feels swollen, lol.

I'll be going to my "other" home tonight in Antioch and doing some laundry and cleaning out junk (a continuation from last night, in which I was cleaning stuff out until 1am!!)

Go home and eat.

Just finished work, came on here to say a quick hello, but i'm not staying on much longer because i'm knackered  :P

A friend of ours who is a wildlife biologist...and who has a sheep farm, asked if me and my mom would come feed the baby lambs that were born yesterday, because the mom's are having problems nursing them, so they need fed every 2 hours or they will get sick and die, so I learned how to go feed lambs today. It was actually kind of fun.

I am planning a trip this weekend to go spend the weekend with a girlfriend of mine who also loves the 80's, and I am staying at a resort Saturday night with my husband and son, but 'm planning on hanging with my friend and watching 80's movies all weekend.

Gotta watch Friday the 13th...since it is tomorrow...and I will not be far from the real Camp Crystal Lake, were they filmed the original movie.  And we are definately watching Private School that's one of our favorite movies, so I am busy getting all my stuff ready for the weekend.  It will be a blast!

My boss was so kind to let me off work an hour early because I was feeling like crap. So, I'm letting my dizzy head rest from a massive sneeze attack that lasted pretty much all day long.

Another high 50s day in the middle of January.  Tomorrow will be a different story, so I think that right now
I will shout the computer off and go wallow in the outdoors until sunset.  ;)

Wasted a lot of this morning waiting around at home for a repair man to come and fix an intermittent fault on our heating.  Of course the heating is working fine.  At least he suggests a couple of things it might be so we'll try those over the weekend.

Need to cook a quick meal tonight so I can take my daughter to her Beaver Scout meeting which starts at 6.30.

Busy weekend with the childrens swimming and dancing lessons and youngest has a friends birthday party to go to plus some other friends have asked us round some time this weekend.  Need to fit some laundry sessions in there and food shopping.

Um...neither. This guy used to be the handyman at my old apartment and I brought him with me when I moved in here. I even worked for him for a bit-so there is long history with this guy-but I always have to give him a hard time.  ;D ;D ;D

It's actually quite a busy weekend for me. I've just worked a seven hour shift, and tomorrow i'm doing 12-5 because a colleague of mine had a...*ahem*...fallout with a senior colleague, so she asked to be moved shifts. Instead, she got the day off... lucky cow!

Then i'm doing another 6am shift on Sunday  :P

Friday night was fun, I got nothing done. I should have cleaned my house since I'm having my friend and his family over as they are visiting from Las Vegas, and tomorrow morning must report to daughters high school to get parent service hours in. It's gonna be a mess cleaning up tonights crab feed and then setting up for tomorrow nights crab feed. Maybe they'll hook me up with some crab?

If you are working hard to keep a clean house and people mess it up then they are disrespecting you and the work you do.  Let them know nicely not to make a mess and if that doesn't work dump whatever they misplace in their laps, no need for explanation.  Don't you wish you could just slap them ::)

Bills suck, especially when incoming $ isn't keeping up with the outgoing. you just make a few lifestyle changes and do the best you can. That is one of the biggest sources of anguish between couples, i can attest to that. hang in there.  as for doing today, I've done alot and still have more to do, cleaned the gym at daughters high school after the crab feed, cleaned and am cleaning house so I can entertain my friend and his family from Las Vegas. Take my kid out to her babysitting job, and take the appetizers out of the oven right now so my wife can take with her to 2nd crab feed she's working at tonight at the school. and try to get some time inthe00s somehow. I'm usually not this busy. I'm a couch potato

Looking into flights to Puerto Rico. I have found one and now the only thing we need are dates.  ;D  The problem is, the flight has one of those little prop-jobs going from San Juan to Ponce over the mountains-and this Cat has an extreme flying phobia.  :( :(

The first time I went to PR, we went to the Bacardi distillery. They gave us two free drinks.  ;D  After we finished the second one, the bartender asked us if we wanted any more. We were debating it but it was 10 in the morning  :o and we hadn't eaten yet so we declined.

Going down there is 7 hrs. 25 min. Return is 8 hrs. 8 min. That include layovers (we change planes twice-in Philly and San Juan)I don't know why the flight coming home is longer.  :-\\

Friday Night - Ate dinner at Quiznos with Cooper and then we rented some movies and watched one (Wedding Crashers - Uncorked) and then fell asleep.

Saturday - We woke up early and decided to go up to Sonoma and search out some cheese places (we have a HUGE fondness for great cheese!) We spent the whole day there, but it kept raining on and off and due to some flooding a few weeks ago, some roads were closed off. Yet, it was still beautiful. The grass has turned green and all the rolling hills with the perfect rows of grape vines was totally pituresque. Came home around 8:30pm and put in "Chicken Run" which I had never seen.

Sunday - Slept in and devoured some cheese that we bought!

Plus, it's real small and cozy, it's not like a real popular place but they've got some fantastic cheese. Also just around the corner they've got the "Cheeseshop" I believe is what's called. They offer various Jack cheeses. Most are pretty good. A few blocks down is "Vella Cheese" but after going to those two places, Vella just didn't seem to live up to the other two. I guess cheese and wine kinda go hand in hand, so maybe that's why Sonoma has cheese shops :0)

That's the name of the "Cheeseshop" I mentioned. I couldn't quite remember, lol. They actually said they no longer make the cheese there like they use to.
