What is it you do again, Luke? :)
I have no idea what I am going to do today. I'll probably go out for a work as I have no money 'till the end of the month (apart from for food that is ;D).

Not that, just so much repitition and stuff, I'm sure they could squeeze a 3 year course into 2 years, easy. (Of course it's more money for 3 years, so that's why it's 3 years ::))
I'm heading off soon to sort through some more of my files on the computer, then do an hours study. :)

I understand. I had that trouble when I did training at the job I am currently on. Two weeks to train people when it could have taken one. Still, I wasn't complaining - it was a doddle. ;D

I suppose I can't complain too much. Especially with holidays starting end of next month and going through to March. :o 8) And next year is professional practice, so basically like working. :D

I woke up still sick, but I have been taking this medicine that has zinc in it...and it seems to be doing the trick.....so, since I feel a tad bit better, I am doing some mild house cleaning, laundry, etc.

I spent most of today in a meeting at work.
It is very quiet here in the labs, most people are away at conferences, some in Liverpool and some in Japan.
Today is my wedding anniversary but we haven't planned a nice meal or anything. We went to my parents yesterday for my dad's birthday and he asked if we were planning to do anything today. Dai was just puzzled till I reminded him what day it was!!

Tee hee. Your husband reminds me of me when I was with my ex. She said to me once, "Rob, do you know what day it is today?" I thought for a second and said "no" and she said. "Today has been 6 months since you moved into the house".
I thought "Good grief!" ::) ;D

Finally have a day off, after working six in a row. I usually put in a 40 hour week, which is what I'm used to, that 6th day kills me everytime. I know some people do it all the time, but I need my 2 days off a week! So, I'll probably stay home today and catch up on alot of housework and spend some time on here.

Just gettin' some quality time in here before I go off to my job interview this morning.
When that's over I've gotta get my hair trimmed again (I've since decided to leave it buzzed - WAY easier!) at the barbershop I usually go to.
I've also gotta stop by the DMV to update my ID photo (expired on my last birthday, lol). After that I'll just play it by ear.

I'd say our election is quite similar to yours. With 2 major candidates going for the big seat (Prime Minister), I'm voting for the one currently in power (I'm sure you've heard of her)
Kinda like voting the best of 2 evils. ;D

There is a quote I always adhere to when it comes to voting, Luke, and it basically says that people usually vote against rather than for a person. ;D

Today I had my hair cut.  Tonight we will be getting ready for tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the orienteering club champs and we are organising it, setting out the courses and starting people etc.  I'm looking after the children's course.
When we've finished that I'll take Elizabeth to her dancing lessons in the afternoon and then go and help my mum and my aunty prepare the buffet for the party in the evening.
My dad was 65 last Sunday, my mum will be 65 this Sunday and tomorrow is their 45th Wedding anniversary so they are having a big party for family and friends tomorrow night.
And on Sunday we collapse and say "wibble"

Today I (hopefully) will be able to find enough time to finish the book I am reading-Disordered Minds by Minette Walters. I also am supposed to dine with a friend of mine(old roommate) she has just turned 50 and has been battling cancer since she was 24 years old. It started in her breast so I would like our younger members to not put off breast exams. They tell you to start at 40 but I have known at least 3 women who contracted the most virulent forms before they hit their 30's.

Today was supposed to Applefest here in town but it was postponed probably due to the weather. But, the library is still holding its sale. We will be heading over there in about an hour because they will start their $1 a bag sale. All the books you can fit in one bag only costs a $1. ;D ;D Goody, goody. More books to add to our collection still on the floor because we don't have enough bookshelves. ::) Hopefully, our next "home improvement" project will be getting more shelving.

Over in England most bars and pubs close at around 12ish.. then the clubs tend to close around2-2:30ish. Some stay open later and most do special nights but generally your looking at being done by around 2. So anyway it's so weird when you go out on the continent.
By 2 your drinking as much as possible cus your sure the bar is gonna close soon.. by 4 your repeating the process.. at 6 your so wasted you don't know which was is up and can't feel your legs but keep going on Principal, when the sun comes up and the place is still packed you just don't know what to do ;D ;D

heheheheh Now that sounds like a good time. :D

If you're going to drink. Drink until you feel good and then leave it alone. :)
There is nothing fun about coming home and puking out what you spent that night.
Right. However, even though I have been old enough to legally drink for the past 4 years, I have no desire to do so. :-X

I am the same way. I've been eligible to drink for 8 years now, and I've never even touched the stuff. I have no desire to ever drink alcohol. The smell of it just turns my stomach.

I rarely drink either. I will drink maybe some wine or sherry or something like that at wine tastings (I do live near Napa and Sonoma, so sometimes you kinda just "do it" to sorta fit in), yet I really hate the flavor. I really don't see the fascination with it. Also, when I was in Arkansas, they had one street just tailor made for college kids and it was full of pubs, bars and clubs where everyone just sat around half-drunk and just tried to fit in. I was so pressured to drink that I finally drank a beer called Fat tire, which was sick! ANd then another guy gave me a mix of red bull and vodka and that tasted like Robitussin. Eh.. who wants to drink cough syrup? I try avoiding that at all costs even when I'm sick.. lol Anyway, nope, I don't like alchohol, mainly for its taste.

No. Practically every I know started drinking at about that age. I hung out with a group of slightly older people and many of them said that if there was another option to going to the pub then they would have done that instead. But there was nowhere else to go. All the coffee bars and whatnot that my parents used to go to have all been closed for a long time. Most of us lived at home and it would be a very tolerant parent that would let 10 - 15 people just hang around at their house each week.

B. Don't try to clear your ear by holding your nose and mouth shut then blowing... :\'(

I hope the ENT doctor is able to fix it for you. Sometimes they can heal themselves. I've had perforated ear drums before from both ear infections and not clearing my ears when I was flying. The ear heal after about 3 months or so. My aunty, however, had a perforated ear drum )don't know how she did it) and it never healed.

You'd be surprised how a lot of people still do this! Crazy!
The ear is, believe it or not, a self-cleaning part of the body which only needs a wipe with warm water should earwax discharge occur...
If earwax should build up for some reason, don't poke it - get it syringed (which is not an unpleasant thing!)
Hope your lughole heals soon...

Oh I had a similar experience before...I was using a q-tip to clean my ear...and somehow I went to do something with my hand...and actually shoved the q-tip real hard in my ear...I thought I broke my eardrum...I went to the doctors and luckily I didn't...but it hurt for a while!!
Anyways.....today I have been doing some more cleaning/organizing with my bedroom...I finally got the last of the boxes that were still sitting around, unpacked. Now I am in the process of doing more laundry.

I admit that I use Q-tips all the time but that is because I have excema in my ears and they are always itching-so I use the Q-tips to scratch (which isn't DEEP in my ears). I have waken up in the middle of the night to find myself clawing at them (and yes I have the claws-meow.) But, my cat also loves the Q-tips. She plays we the them all the time and we find them all over the house. lol
Sorry to go off-topic.

Got work... the Big Dig still lives. They have some entrance and exit ramps, I maybe there for a month or
so. That's good. Went to pick up a new pair of eyeglasses. Yesterday I was crossing the street and they fell out of my pocket, when I turned to retrieve them a car came along and ran them over, it was like something out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon. I laughed until they told me that the new ones cost $350 :o .

Aarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..........I kinda know how that feels. A few months ago my daughter broke the arm off of my glasses. I though I was going to have to get a whole new pair, but it turned out that they just popped the lenses out and put them in a new frame. I only cost me $110. :)

he tries the same "I can't do it" crap with me here at home but I won't let him get away with it so he eventually does it.

I was the opposite (in school), I didn't really mind working at school, but hated bring stuff home. My mom was always asking me questions so it was hard to concentrate. Whenever I'd try to type a paper at home, my cat would bat at the typerwriter bars as they struck the paper. It was funny.
Got my ear suctioned out, basically looked like some fish aquarium tubing attached to a vacuum cleaner. I kidded the doc, told him not to suck too many of my brains out (I couldn't hear if he laughed or not.)
In other news, I finally got around to cleaning off my desk (it's a miracle)! I now have nearly all my cd in cd racks on my desk and all pop cans in the trash. I have to find a way to organize my geneology stuff and all my pictures, but enough excitement for today. My heart can only take so much.
Went to Subway, would love to lose weight like Jarod, but it's not gonna happen when they have so many yummy fattening sandwiches (like Spicy Italian). I'm gonna miss saving all those crappy stamps they used to give out for buying their subs. I eventually did manage to fill a card or two.
Thanks to you all for the well wishes (about my ear.) They are very appreciated. :-*

I have to take my daughter to the hair stylist. :\'(
Has this happened to anyone else? My daughter has/had beauitful long hair, while I was helping my son with his homework, my daughter got ahold on the scissors and chopped the hair on top of her head right down to the scalp. :\'(
I am hoping that the hair stylist can fix it enough that she still looks like a girl. :)

I woke up around 6:30 or 7am, watched some TV half asleep and then got up officially at 7:30 and got ready for work. There was lightening and thunder outside last night and boyfriends balcony had a spectacular view of it all. We live near a mountain, so it looked very creepy outside... I guess we were getting remnants of a hurricane out in the pacific. It also rained.

I just read an e-mail from my mother.
She was dog walking and an Adder (type of pit viper) bit the dog and struck at her but missed.
She had to take the dog to the vet who oddly enough had the anti-venom required.
Today, my ankle got worse and worse (i believe i have sprained it) it's now fairly swollen and kinda browny colored.

Working construction is feast or famine. Either no work or overtime. Today was overtime. Perosnally I don't like it because I like my life an my family, but it is only for a couple of days so I can tough it out. :P

Hey!
I am located approx 350 miles NorthWest of Houston.
If you don't get far enough out and you need to go farther.... lemme know! :)
We have tropical storm warnings for high winds and heavy rain so hopefully we will fare ok.
We are praying for EVERYONE along the Gulf Coast!

That can still be a little scary Tam. Just try to be aware of tornados, as best you can at least. Hope you stay safe too.

I think Hubby is more concerned that I am. We were in WalMart tonight and peeps were buying up water and stuff like crazy - he says he feels exactly like he did when he was first deployed... that nervous stomach feeling and stuff.
We are in lowlands and tornadoes are likely... we generally have about 3 - 7 a year so we are prepared for that situation ;)
Tmr all the outside patio stuff is going into the storage, we're cutting the grass real short to help with water run off and getting some short term supplies that we might need. Road Runner already notified us through email that they are shutting down from Fri around 10pm and will be back up Sunday around noon-ish.
The only other thing I am really concerned with is wind damage cause the houses in the neighborhood I live in are older - dating back to 1940 or further - and the trees are huge around the area.
We should fare well all in all.
{And I just keep on saying my prayers} ;)

Sounds like you guys are prepared. I'm sure you know this but.......it's a good idea to have a portable radio and some lanterns and lots of batteries. Our power was out for over a week with Ivan and about 1 1/2 days with Katrina. It sucked! ;D It would have been ok if it wasn't so dam humid!

I'm praying for everyone there too! :-my area is never affected by things like this. Being on the west coast does have its advantages.

;) We do have the flash lights and batteries. Two of our cloack radios are battery back-up which actually powers the radio too.
The humidity is gonna get to us if the power does go out. Today we hit record highs at 101F - the weekend is supposed to be cool... in the 60's but next week it is going to go back up to the 90's! Ah well, such is life right? ;)
