Yeah, me too. We are already planning the big bash in 3 years. And knowing her, she will still be around. It was funny, we were all talking about it in her livingroom back in Jan. She just had a look on her face and said, "I don't have any say in the matter." lol.  The woman is STILL as sharp as a tack.

My great grandmother (interestingly enough with an Italian Father) lived to be 103 as well.

I remember the last time i saw her she seemed smaller than ever, but she was still in good spirits. When she dided she was only about 4 and a half feet tall  :o

Had a busy day doing bit and pieces around the house.  Tonight a friend and I went outto dinner at a Turkish Restaurant and then went to see Glen Shorrock (former lead singer with LRB), Doug Parkinson and Wendy Matthews who were backed by an orchestra.  Fantastic show.  :)

That was taken last month at my sister's birthday-noticed the Spongebob hat lol. The pic I love was taken a few years back when my niece held a Harry Potter party for my sister and everyone-including Grandma were wearing the Harry Potter glasses. I don't have a copy of that pic (which I need to get) to show everyone-but it is still a great pic.

BTW, when I talked to her yesterday, she was made a my sisters (who took her out for her birthday) because they were telling everyone how old she is. But, she knows we do that because we are proud. But, she said she had a great time.  ;D

Today my wife and I dropped off our youngest daughter (4) at school for her first full day :(.
It's called Reception year over here, she will go into Year 1 next year, which is the equivalent of First Grade in the USA.
However they spend from 9 until 3.30 at school in Reception year and stay at school for lunch, so for the first time for 10 years we have no child at home in the daytime.

Our daughter had a lovely day but we both feel down - getting older, things changing, we're not parents of young children anymore.
It's going to hit my wife harder as she has had a close circle of friends whose social activities are based on having each other's kids around to play at each other's houses
during the day. She still be in touch with those mothers of course but with no toddler she won't be part of those activities. .

Ah well, all things must change I guess. Right now I'm wondering what it will be like when they leave home - I'm dreading that!

To think I was sad this morning because today is the first day that my three year old will be in a class.  She is starting ballet today. :)  She thinks she's such a big girl. ;D

Here in the states, you have to be 5 to start kindergarten.

That's why my son won't be starting Kindergarten until next year.  (He'll be 5 next month, but the school year started in late July...)

I went to the Brimfield Antiques Fair.  It is the largest antiques fair in New England with over 5000 vendors from all over the world.  I went early because you can always count on a minimum 2 mile backup waiting for parking.  I would say it is an indication of the gas problem that for the first time in 20 years there wasn't any traffic.  I drove up and parked where ever I chose, the vendors were discussing how they never thought they would ever see such a small turnout(It it a weeklong event), I would say there were probably more vendors than buyers(which made it good for us buyers  ;)  )

It's amazing how quickly one adjusts!  ;)  Having said that I know exactly how your wife must be feeling Graham.  When our youngest, Declan, started school I was lost but then you start doing things like going to the movies (to see big peoples' movies), leisurely lunches, etc.  :)

Had my two classes in the morning, came to this site for a couple hours, got some lunch, then went to do some volunteer work. I'm in the office right now.

Go to work (ughh.. my boss wants us working from 9am now until 6pm)... luckily my medical class got canceled Wednesday, so the teach said no homework but reading.. that's cool. Economics class always has reading.. so got that to contend with.. well that's actually my weekend in a nutshell :0)

I'm gonna unwind with some old buddies this weekend maybe take a little field trip to New Jersey Who knows ::)

Usual day at work.  I've got to take some photos of some new members of staff for our website and department notice board.  And write an e-mail trying to persuade non-members to join the union.

Hubby is away overnight tonight so I've got to do all the running around.  Elizabeth has a Beaver Scout meeting tonight, then they both have swimming lessons tomorrow.  In the afternoon tomorrow Elizabeth has her dancing lessons, she preparing for the next lot of exams.

It's my dad's birthday on Sunday - he'll be 65 - so we'll probably go round and see him at some point.

Tomorrow is Saturday, so nothing major. Need to go job hunting sometime soon, as well as catch up on some study. Fun.

I didn't get anything but my significant got another pedal car, he collects them along with other things.  This one is one he has been wanting, and he got a great deal.

I'm going to work on my database and regularly check e-mail and the 00s, maybe go out to Kroger during lunch.  Tonight go to high school football game and meet up with Cyn after that.

Today I plan on getting lots of rest so that I can feel better. This morning my mom and I took our dog to the dentist, so that our dog could have her teeth cleaned, but I was feeling so miserable that I waited in the lobby area. I had left my kleenex at home, but fortunately for me the receptionist had a box of them. So for the rest of the day, I'm gonna rest.

I volunteered at my hospital and it was busy today with a lot of xerox copying.

Went for a walk, watch some DVDs and got some sleep.  :)

This morning i took my Algebra exam, and.. i don't think i've done great, but i think i have passed it, which is all i am concerned about.

I got my Political Science exam back, i was dissapointed a bit because i was only 2 marks from an A but a B+ is good for my First College exam.

I got a new job at a record store, i start in a couple of weeks. The guy loved me, we are SO similar.

Then i went to my friend Steve's house, i am looking after it for him over the weekend, his dog loved me and he has a 50 Inch Plasma TV so that should keep me occupied  ;D

I got home and found a package from Jim (Jiminy) full of all sorts of cool stuff, so i am currently watching a video that was in there.

I'd be bloody happy with myself if i got a C first time round, i get the impression i may have to take the course again.. i dunno. I just hope to scrape through, hell if it's a pass I'll take a D. I freakin hate Math and just wanna get it done with.

I don't find Poli Sci that hard, but the test was pretty difficult. Nice one getting a B in it, i'd be pretty pleased with that.

I'm assuming that they skip "E" in the U.S. because in K-12, it's a "mark" for work habits and cooperation; "E"=excellent; "S"=satisfactory; "U"=unsatisfactory.

Going to work, again, but this time it might actually be fun. We're having a grand "re-opening" of the store I work at, because of a major remodeling project. There's going to be alot of fun stuff going on, and the employees get to wear their favorite sports team shirts, jerseys etc. and we can wear jeans today, which is a first. I found my husbands basketball jersey from Jr. High which makes it about 30 something years old, so that's what I'm wearing since I don't really have a fav sports team.

I am going to clean the house then I brought home a boatload of work to do.  I figure I am going to take advantage of the overtime while we have it.

I had an argument with a bus driver as well. He won.

I said, how much is it to Hampton avenue, he said $2.35, i said.. IT'S ONLY 2 AND A HALF MILES! He said, that's the fare, i said, I'LL BLOODY WALK THEN!, he grunted, i realised it wasn't far off 100 degrees.. it was 95 according to the bank i walked past.

Well, today, my parents, Chris and I went to this festival called, "Mountain Craft Days" in Somerset, Pa.  It's an old-time festival where you walk through the woods and there are tons of demonstrators showing how they make their wares (ex. soap making, chair making, herbs, needlecraft, butter churning, etc)...they had lots of neat samples and good stuff to buy, as well.


Then, in the early evening...we went to yet another fall festival, and we went to see a local oldies music band called, "Johnny Angel & The Halos"....it was a lot of fun!

Today I went to my friend's Halo 2 party. It was fun even though we only played it half the time. The rest was spent eating, trying to set the game up, and we went outside for a while. It was cool though because we had 10 people playing at once on 4 different tvs.

The first time i decided to go running i took her thinking i'd job for maybe a mile and walk a mile.. i started jogging, and she went faster, so i thought, oh.. wanna play do ya, so i started a brisk run, she ran faster, so i moved it in to a semi-sprint, she went faster, so i blew out in to a full on sprint.. she went faster. Now, i may be a fat guy, but i happen to be in good Physical shape (the doctors were suprised) and i can keep up a good speed.. GODDAM THAT DOG CAN SHIFT! She wasn't even trying and she was making me look stupid.

I am writing about colonial indentured servants and the origin of American money.. would you happen to know what "unit of account" may mean in layman's terms.. he explained it in class, but I have sort of forgotten and I didn't write really good notes on that (of course, lol)  :D

I've recently begun working out at the gym on a regular basis and can relate, though not playing squash, I am playing a little raquetball and lifting weights :P

Well...this morning after my dad and I went to church, we went to go see my mom in the hospital (she had been there since Friday night; we still don't know exactly what her illness was; I just know that it had been bothering her for a week and a half); she said that there was a chance she'd be discharged from the hospital today. And sure enough...this afternoon, around 4:00 (Pacific time), she was able to come home! :)

Thanks Erin... I sure hope so too. She has another doctor appointment in the morning. All is not entirely well with me, though...I'm still blowing my nose, but I should be better by this time tomorrow. :) I did not go to my diner's club dinner last night because of my cold.

Yep...my dad took her into the ER on Friday night...and things took forever there. I was at home, taking care of our little dog. By the time my dad finally got home it was almost 3:00 Saturday morning; I had been sleeping on the couch downstairs for an hour or so, anticipating that he might stay with her overnight. But that wasnt the case. :) By the way, this particular hospital is very close to our house, so getting to and from there doesn't take a mighty long time.

School for much of today, study for much of tonight.  :D
