I hope so too. :)
Anyway, today (Sunday) I went to church in the morning, and studied in the afternoon at home.

Spent the weekend in South Wales with my husband's parents. My father in law had a stroke in May and he hasn't made a full recovery. The plan this weekend was to turn part of their large vegetable plot into a lawn so that it will be easier to maintain.
Therefore Saturday was spent clearing the ground of weeds and stones and turning the surface over. By late afternoon we were ready to sow the grass and we managed to find some netting to put down over most of it to keep the birds off.
On Sunday we went to the beach in the morning to poke around the rock pools and make sand castles. The weather changed to rain after lunch so we stayed in until it was time to go home.
Today I'm at work and still trying to decide what needs doing today.

Yesterday we went to Old Orchard Beach with the sun, swimming, amusements, and arcades. The last gasp of summer vacation. Today it is time to get in the back to school mode.

I am going to be a "big meanie" as my daughter calls it. I have been trying to get her to clean her toyroom all weekend, she keeps promising but not following through. I told her she can't play outside til it is done. She is not impressed.
(Then I am going to laugh at her as she stomps by, trying to be mad but she has the hiccups. Kinda ruins the effects. ;D)

Today we are going over to my parent's house for a picnic, and then we are all going out to the amusement park for our last time this summer.

"Tidy", "neat", "clean" and the like are all BAD WORDS in my house. Geez, when I ask the kids to clean the basement, you'd have thought I just shot their best friend or grounded them for life the way they go on ::)
Know exactly what you mean. I always tell my kids that it doesn't take a lot to keep me happy ... 15 minutes of tidying and not having to ask them to do the same job every day ... like put your dirty clothes down the laundry chute, get your lunch box out of your school bag, empty any rubbish out of it, take any dirty dishes to the sink, if the dishwasher needs emptying empty it .... I could go on. Honestly it would be easier to train a chimpanzee. ::)

I keep threatening to make a loop tape that just constantly plays the messages. Or maybe a CD so that you could play the relevant track.
"put dirty clothes in your wash basket when you take them off!
"put your clean clothes away in the drawers"
"use your knife and fork not your fingers"
"a chair has four legs for a reason"
etc

This morning I had a meeting with some of the Union committee and the regional officer. I've now got to prepare an e-mail to the members about the current round of negotiations and sort out what the state of play is between the three unions here and the management on the proposals. I've also got to prepare one lab area for some publicity shots that are being done on Thursday and have a general tidy up for some visitors that are coming this weekend and some others next week.

So, baking soda? Does it work? I don't mind scrubbing really hard, my gums bleed whenever i brush my teeth (don't ask) so that dosen't bother me.

Certainly does - there was even a toothpaste on sale some time ago which used it as an active ingredient...
(Tho' if your teeth are really stained, it may not be totally effective...try one of those 'proper' stain removal toothpastes, if they're that bad...)

They're not so much stained as i don't drink tea or Coffee and haven't smoked for a while just a bit yellowy. I'll give it a go, see if it works.

I may end up doing that just yet, Karen. I main problem at the moment is the heat. There is very little chance of sleeping in the humidity and I may have to get myself a fan (something I never would have dreamed of buying a few months back).

Well, the littlest one still looks like a leper, but hopefully, changing his medicine will help that ;DÂÂ
At least the medicine will do the trick, lol.
He has now gone from little red bumps everywhere to big red blotches all over his body. His face and neck look SERIOUSLY sunburnt as they're one red blotch and there are little pencil-to-dime sized spots everywhere else. I had to explain to the director and his preschool teachers that he wasn't contagious and to please call me ASAP if he seems to be short of breath or anything. Just what they wanted to deal with on his first day, I'm sure ::)
Yes, at least it isn't contagious. A lot of kids go through problems on their first day, lol. Me for example, when I started secondary school, I got time off almost immediately for having a mouth abcess, lol. Beyond that, I had an excellent level of attendance. :)

64% :-Today.
I FINALLY!! Understand what we're doing in my Algebra class. Shame i've only just worked it all out and the Exam is on Friday ;D
Took my Poli - Science exam. I think i have got an A on it, the question really were not all that difficult and i only had to get about 90% for an A.
Great stuff, man. 8)
I did my running yesterday so today it's 'Cardio - Stretching' ;D

I dunno... it was around 64%. I know it was more than 60 and less than 65, i think 64, i could be wrong but not by much :-[
Errrm.. it entails me stretching at a faste rate and headbanging at the same time.
I'll tell you something now and you'll laugh, but if i go down in the basement and stick on something like 'Reign in Blood' which is only a half hour long album, and just let loose.. i get a better workout than just about anything.
Bollocks to all this Yoga sheeshe, METAL'S THE ANSWER ;D

My great grandmother (interestingly enough with an Italian Father) lived to be 103 as well.
I remember the last time i saw her she seemed smaller than ever, but she was still in good spirits. When she dided she was only about 4 and a half feet tall :o

HOLY COW!!! Is that a recent picture? I can only HOPE a)that I live to be 97 & b) that if I do, I look THAT good :)
That was taken last month at my sister's birthday-noticed the Spongebob hat lol. The pic I love was taken a few years back when my niece held a Harry Potter party for my sister and everyone-including Grandma were wearing the Harry Potter glasses. I don't have a copy of that pic (which I need to get) to show everyone-but it is still a great pic.
BTW, when I talked to her yesterday, she was made a my sisters (who took her out for her birthday) because they were telling everyone how old she is. But, she knows we do that because we are proud. But, she said she had a great time. ;D

Today my wife and I dropped off our youngest daughter (4) at school for her first full day :(.
It's called Reception year over here, she will go into Year 1 next year, which is the equivalent of First Grade in the USA.
However they spend from 9 until 3.30 at school in Reception year and stay at school for lunch, so for the first time for 10 years we have no child at home in the daytime.
Our daughter had a lovely day but we both feel down - getting older, things changing, we're not parents of young children anymore.
It's going to hit my wife harder as she has had a close circle of friends whose social activities are based on having each other's kids around to play at each other's houses
during the day. She still be in touch with those mothers of course but with no toddler she won't be part of those activities. .
Ah well, all things must change I guess. Right now I'm wondering what it will be like when they leave home - I'm dreading that!

Here in the states, you have to be 5 to start kindergarten.
That's why my son won't be starting Kindergarten until next year. (He'll be 5 next month, but the school year started in late July...)

Actually, it's more like preschool than kindergarten. Here in the states, you have to be 5 to start kindergarten.
That's how old I was when I started. (In fact, tomorrow will mark the 20th anniversary of my first day!!) However, I think some of my classmates turned 5 later in the year; I know two of 'em did.

I went to the Brimfield Antiques Fair. It is the largest antiques fair in New England with over 5000 vendors from all over the world. I went early because you can always count on a minimum 2 mile backup waiting for parking. I would say it is an indication of the gas problem that for the first time in 20 years there wasn't any traffic. I drove up and parked where ever I chose, the vendors were discussing how they never thought they would ever see such a small turnout(It it a weeklong event), I would say there were probably more vendors than buyers(which made it good for us buyers ;) )

This morning my mom and I took our dog to the dentist, so that our dog could have her teeth cleaned, but I was feeling so miserable that I waited in the lobby area. I had left my kleenex at home, but fortunately for me the receptionist had a box of them. So for the rest of the day, I'm gonna rest.

I got my Political Science exam back, i was dissapointed a bit because i was only 2 marks from an A but a B+ is good for my First College exam.
I got a new job at a record store, i start in a couple of weeks. The guy loved me, we are SO similar.
Then i went to my friend Steve's house, i am looking after it for him over the weekend, his dog loved me and he has a 50 Inch Plasma TV so that should keep me occupied ;D
I got home and found a package from Jim (Jiminy) full of all sorts of cool stuff, so i am currently watching a video that was in there.

Ughh, I got a C in my college algebra course. And that doesn't even amount to HOW hard I really worked to get that C either.
Political Science is harder than one would think - Glad you did well for the first exam! I got a B overall in my PS class.

I'd be bloody happy with myself if i got a C first time round, i get the impression i may have to take the course again.. i dunno. I just hope to scrape through, hell if it's a pass I'll take a D. I freakin hate Math and just wanna get it done with.
I don't find Poli Sci that hard, but the test was pretty difficult. Nice one getting a B in it, i'd be pretty pleased with that.

Calculus is just a higher form of algebra, from what I gathered. My brother took it in college and aced it (arghh.. lol). I have been too scared to venture into higher math past the algebra course I got the C in. I will probably have to retake it in order to take Math 30 (Intermediate Algebra).
Yeah, Business Math may be more applicable for us working folks, especially.

The US is one of the few country's that goes straight from D to F.
For instance i got a lot of E's on essays ;D
I also got a U in Drama and Spanish. U is ungradeable.. you need at least 10% for an F and i didn't get that ;D
Not turning up to the exams or class kinda.. didn't help ;D ;D

I'm assuming that they skip "E" in the U.S. because in K-12, it's a "mark" for work habits and cooperation; "E"=excellent; "S"=satisfactory; "U"=unsatisfactory.

Going to work, again, but this time it might actually be fun. We're having a grand "re-opening" of the store I work at, because of a major remodeling project. There's going to be alot of fun stuff going on, and the employees get to wear their favorite sports team shirts, jerseys etc. and we can wear jeans today, which is a first. I found my husbands basketball jersey from Jr. High which makes it about 30 something years old, so that's what I'm wearing since I don't really have a fav sports team.

I had an argument with a bus driver as well. He won.
I said, how much is it to Hampton avenue, he said $2.35, i said.. IT'S ONLY 2 AND A HALF MILES! He said, that's the fare, i said, I'LL BLOODY WALK THEN!, he grunted, i realised it wasn't far off 100 degrees.. it was 95 according to the bank i walked past.

Well, today, my parents, Chris and I went to this festival called, "Mountain Craft Days" in Somerset, Pa. It's an old-time festival where you walk through the woods and there are tons of demonstrators showing how they make their wares (ex. soap making, chair making, herbs, needlecraft, butter churning, etc)...they had lots of neat samples and good stuff to buy, as well.
Then, in the early evening...we went to yet another fall festival, and we went to see a local oldies music band called, "Johnny Angel & The Halos"....it was a lot of fun!

The first time i decided to go running i took her thinking i'd job for maybe a mile and walk a mile.. i started jogging, and she went faster, so i thought, oh.. wanna play do ya, so i started a brisk run, she ran faster, so i moved it in to a semi-sprint, she went faster, so i blew out in to a full on sprint.. she went faster. Now, i may be a fat guy, but i happen to be in good Physical shape (the doctors were suprised) and i can keep up a good speed.. GODDAM THAT DOG CAN SHIFT! same here...I really enjoy baseball, and even hockey...but I could never get into football, however, the sound of it always puts me to sleep...so I guess that is a good thing! LOL! :D

It's been said already but, wrestling of that kind is not a real sport, therefore never on ESPN or in the Sports section of newspapers....but I digress ;)

I admit that it can get boring, just depends on if you follow a certain team and are a fan ;)

I've got a lot of reading to do for my classes. I don't wanna do it, though. I really need to wash my car - so I may go do that in a few hours.

I fell asleep during the Rams - Forty Whiners game today ;D
Of course, The Rams were getting the piss kicked out of them.
I prefer Baseball, Hockey, Real Football and Wrestling over American Football.. but i don't mind it and will watch it. I just hate the f'n start-stop bollocks. I don't mind watching College football, it's more entertaining IMO.

Church. Colored my hair, I don't want to go to Vegas next weekend all salt and pepper. Now I need to finish the work I brought home.

Well...this morning after my dad and I went to church, we went to go see my mom in the hospital (she had been there since Friday night; we still don't know exactly what her illness was; I just know that it had been bothering her for a week and a half); she said that there was a chance she'd be discharged from the hospital today. And sure enough...this afternoon, around 4:00 (Pacific time), she was able to come home! :)

Thanks Erin... I sure hope so too. She has another doctor appointment in the morning. All is not entirely well with me, though...I'm still blowing my nose, but I should be better by this time tomorrow. :) I did not go to my diner's club dinner last night because of my cold.

Oh, I can totally relate to how you are feeling...I have a horrible sinus infection...and I even lost my voice....I am feeling pretty under the weather myself.

Yep...my dad took her into the ER on Friday night...and things took forever there. I was at home, taking care of our little dog. By the time my dad finally got home it was almost 3:00 Saturday morning; I had been sleeping on the couch downstairs for an hour or so, anticipating that he might stay with her overnight. But that wasnt the case. :) By the way, this particular hospital is very close to our house, so getting to and from there doesn't take a mighty long time.
