There were a lot of kids in my neighborhood so we were able to manage.  We were sent out of
the house after breakfast and not really allowed back in until lunch, then sent out again until
dinner time.  We always found something to do, ride bike, go to the municipal pool, go to the
park, steal mums cigarettes and try to smoke, swipe a candy bar at the store, get into fights...etc

I think I am going to take Vaughn to the playground today...it is beautiful outside!

That sounds similar to how it is here.  My daughter finishes the school year in late June, then goes back in for the next school year in late July.  Yes, her winter break is longer than her summer break, which is great because January and February are the nicest months for weather here.  :)

When I was in school there was no such thing as year-round schools.  We started in late August, got out in early June, then we had 3 straight months off...which usually led to boredom.

Yeah...the Year Round school system wasn't around until the early 90's (at least in California). With the exception of my 6th and 7th grade years, we ALWAYS started in September, after Labor Day.

Yesterday I did enjoy the Dodger game I went to...even though my team didn't win. We left the game after the 7th inning, when it was still tied up at 6.

The school system here started the year in august once-they said so that teachers can have more time to spend on each topic so that the students learn better. They ended the school  year the first week in June. Graduation and prom was in late May.

Ironic isn't it, they only started 1 week early and ended about 2.5 weeks earlier than usual.

I dare say that isn't a great idea. The front yard isn't vast.. i couldn't say exactly how many square feet, but small enough that it can be mowed in about 15 minutes. The back however is a bit bigger...

Going to the CSUN campus to do some more volunteer work. Lately I've had to add a few more things to the database, so now I'm going to have to re-print the directory and make a few more queries.

gotta start getting ready for work in around half an hour or so. I've gotta go in early because myself, a colleague and the manageress are having a meeting about an incident which occured not too long ago. Hopefully it'll teach this coleague to keep her mouth shut  >:(

Oh yeah, I've heard of it, but never played it. My mom's family has, being that she's half Italian. I've just never learned.

Last night we went to Friday Night Flicks and saw a Scooby Doo movie.  Today, I don't know, maybe
go swimming, and get some ice cream, read my book, ignore the clothes strewn all over the house.

Wee-Ohhh, The Lowell Folk Festival is today and tomorrow.  Free music, lots of different foods, arts and
crafts.  I would say it is one of the better more relaxed festivals I have ever been to.  The music is at
different places in downtown and ranges from traditional Greek, to rythmn and blues.  Signing off, I'm
gonna get cleaned up and go  :)

Not a blessed thing and loving every minute of it. :D

Well I went to the Jersey Shore today. The arcade was fun. I got the 100 point hole in ski ball and got 2 50 point balls in the same game too! I also played that stick figure game with the ball they use for ski-balls and I knocked down every stick figure in one game. I still can;t master that frog game though on the boardwalk where put the frog on this the hammer and hit the thing where the frog is on. That game is challenging. I also scored a 28 in that basketball game in the arcade. 

well, today we went out to dinner with my grandparents and then I went grocery shopping, and after that...we went over my grandparents house for my grandma's birthday cake.

This morning i went and got some tickets for the ball game on Wednesday evening.
Went and got 2 pairs of cut off jeans (long ones ala Raven) and a pair of.. smartish gay fashion icon (cus i am such) shorts. ;D And a shirt.

Hung out around the house for a little while.. arranged to BBQ Tomorrow night, pulled the garden chairs and tables outta the garage and set them up. Then went to dierbergs and got back about 10 minutes ago.

Woke up about an hour ago (12:30pm), made myself a cup of tea, burnt my own cd (which is the best yet!  8) ). Currently listening to the cd and posting. Work at 6 this evening, though so it's not all fun and games  :D

Had to take the day off today because of this cold or whatever it is that I have.  Probably just lay around all day with that woozey feeling that cold medicine gives me.

Almost 2am here!  :o Nothing much planned for today, Tuesday mornings are relaxed, Tuesday afternoon I have lectures.  8)

Still listening to that Cd that I burnt this morning, just got ready and cleaned my room up a bit. Have to go and get ready for work in a couple of hours time  :(

that's how I feel to about my family. Beth and I are very close...and I am very close with my parents. UGH!  I've only gotten a thing in the mail once and I mailed it back with the "I have small children at home, financial hardship (yeah right ::))yada, yada, yada" and they never notified me again.  Hubby's been called TONS of time.....the last one was for District Court, but it was in his hometown (where he hasn't lived for 15+ years ::)) which is in a different district than we live ;)


Yeah, I was called on about 5 years ago and somehow I got out of it - but this time around, I guess I felt I better at least be a good civil servant and attempt it (then maybe they'll never ask me again - yeah right - lol). I ran with some people from the cross country team for training at 7:30 and have been sitting around the house since.

UGH!  I've only gotten a thing in the mail once and I mailed it back with the "I have small children at home, financial hardship (yeah right ::))yada, yada, yada" and they never notified me again.  Hubby's been called TONS of time.....the last one was for District Court, but it was in his hometown (where he hasn't lived for 15+ years ::)) which is in a different district than we live ;)
Just tell them you're a redneck who thinks all people who do wrong should be locked away and thrown away the key. And say you never negotiate... ever.

I went into town and bought three pictures and a rug. My flat is starting to become a home.  8)

The pictures are quite small but fit very well into the front room. One is a red panda (my favourite animal), a kaola bear and a cartoony purple hedgehog.  8)

They weren't the pictures I wanted oddly enough but I will go back to the market and look out for those others (I like the idea of having pictures of animals in the front room  8)), I would love to go and get a print of a night skyline though.

Today i drove to my parents house to water thier plants....they're visiting my brother in Nebraska. Then I ran some errands, came home, mowed the weeds and went for a dip in the pool :)

Because i couldn't sleep last night, and only managed to get to sleep at about 4:30ish i didn't wake up until 11 which was very annoying.

I folded my laundry.. I washed and dried it yesterday.. but really couldn't be fecked folding it and putting it away. I e-mailed the College with some details that they had lost.. I can't believe i'm putting my Educational Future in the hands of people as amazingly useless as these guys are.
I accosted the mailman in a nice manner  ;D
Went and got some dog food for Muzz.
Went to some Greek place for lunch with a 'friend' (it's somebody i'm not particularly keen on.. but don't particularly dislike ;D) Then picked up some Hot Wings for dinner tonight.

Then in a minute i am gonna jump in the shower for the second time today, 'cus it's so darned hot. Then at about 6 i'll make my way downtown and me and my Uncle are gonna go to the Cardinals - Marlins game.

I ran again this morning. 8 miles with people from the cross country team, then 2 more going home. Since then I've been resting, my shins and knees are hurting a bit. And I just ordered a pizza.

Spent practically all day in bed and being sick. Fell asleep at about 3ish, woke up about an hour ago, and couldn't get back to sleep, so i've came down to say hello and see how everyone is  :)

Still feeling sick, although the vomiting appears to have stopped, and I also still feel very warm... hope i'm feeling worse tomorrow so I don't have to go to work  ::)
