Well now, the mighty Leicester are playing in the FA cup quater finals.

They are my adopted team so i feel a mild obligation to support them, so i shall make a trip to the nearest pub and watch them and blackburn play what i can describe before hand, as a dirty bloody game, then i shall return home and sleep i expect.

You know we both could have missed it.. actually i for one would have been dead after 25 mins at that pace.

I play for an hour every Tuesday evening and the pace is fast there, when i am finished i collapse on the spot. Especially because i play as a Left Back (yeah make the joke) but I have what could be considered a free role. Essentially i have the whole Left Flank to myself, which is great for attacking, but awful when i defend (which i love to do) i usually have 2-3 players to deal with. So sometimes i shift over in to my ALL TIME favourite position, the Defensive Midfielder, watch roy keane play, that's what i mean, hanging back and defending hard, but being given the opportunity to make forward runs and plays. Love that position. Bad thing is my discipline. I have been sent off 3 times this year and have also been suspended twice for Yellow Cards  ;D ;D ;D

Last night I got home late and I didn't have time to post anything about what I did yesterday, so, I'm going to talk about it today.

Yesterday (Saturday) I was at home in the morning and afternoon, and in the evening I went to my monthly "Diners Club" meetings; this time it was at the Mimi's Resturant in Thousand Oaks. (We meet on the 2nd Saturday of every month; next month we're supposed to go to a place in Agoura that I haven't been to.) Normally we have a fairly big crowd, usually between 10 and 20 people; last night there were 21 of us.

had a reasonably busy weekend.  On Saturday I had to judge the District Cub Handicraft competition which was fun.  They had to make a marble run.  On SUnday we went up to Woollaton Hall for a walk.  It was sunny here when we left but cloudy and cold in the hall grounds.  We still had a good time though.

Today I will be busy at work.  I need to make a start on a presentation I will be giving next week.

Mercifully, Lord Beeching's teachings (cool rhyme huh ?) have never come to pass in my state - we have so far avoided the folly of being stupid enough to privatise the rail system.  *PS I know he was more branch line closure, less privatisation - but I just like sinking the boot into him  ;D

Give it time though, I am sure someone will think it is a good idea, I mean, just because it fails every time someone tries shouldn't be a deterrent now should it ?  :o ::) ::) ::) ::)  :P

Oh you work out at Curves ... a good friend of mine and her husband opened one of the first Curves here last year ... they have just open their third!  I've had a couple of work outs there but I prefer the gym I go to.  It's funny but I really don't like "women only" gyms.  I find it's the guys who offer the most encouragement and help.

I worked out at a Curves one time with my wife. The Curves she was going to was consedering letting men join and my wife and a friends wife talked us into going. THAT was wierd. After we left all the ladies that were there complained about men being there and so it didn't work out (so to speak).

Well, laundry's almost caught up (thanks to my cable crapping out this morning :P) and I've started packing.  Also threw some spaghetti sauce in the crockpot for dinner as my mom & dad are coming up.  In a couple of hours, I have to take my dad to get laser treatments on his eyes, come back and take the middle one to karate, go back and pick up my dad, then come back and pick up the middle one.  After all that's done, we're going to have spaghetti, then I'm going to relax for a bit, watch American Idol (since I missed it last night :(), get the kids their showers and hopefully get some sleep tonight.  I might finish picking up as my MIL might come tomorrow if the weather's supposed to be bad on Thursday :-\\

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think A.I. was on last night. I flipped around the channels and couldn't find it.

Took eldest daughter to GP to get her skin checked and immunisations up-to-date.  Watched the boys play in their final of the lunchtime cricket tournament at school.  They won.  Tonight I'm going out for coffee with all of the Year 7 mums.  :)

This morning I prepared for a midterm...which seemed to go well for me today. I was actually able to study with someone from class before the test, so it worked out great. (It certainly beats having to study all alone, which I've had to do in the past.)

Thanks, but it's pretty much going to be a lifelong problem for me, I've already had surgery which helped 98%, but there's still a little pain once in a while. I'm pretty used to it now, but just couldn't get out of bed this morning to go to work for some reason.   :-\\

I had all four of mine out 5 years ago this July...I remember what it felt like. After three days I was able to eat normally again. I'm glad you got through it. ;)

Yes, it was pretty bad. But, the pain was certainly worth it. I've had no problems since.

Did you have jelly and ice cream? It was a treat that a lot of hospitals in UK especially gave to young patients after they have had their tonsils out.

Why did you have to wait that long, Mark? That must have been excruciating. They must be have been big tonsils by the time they finished with you.  :)

Never had an organ, or tonsils out, but 5 teeth and a large lump of tissue have been extracted.

Have got an awesome scar that runs about 10 Inches on my side from the last one.

Eep, same thing happened to me. I was like this <.........> close to being dead. I reacted exceptionally badly to the penicillin and nothing was done about it for several hours, so i got worse, the Doctors thought it must be some kind of strange effect of the Pnumonia i had. I'm just thankfull they worked it out when they did.

I went to Torquay today (Sunday) and had a meal in a restaurant with family (not at 'Fawlty Towers', lol  ;D). We went to Cockington nearby in Torbay which was an Olde Worlde kind of place with glass blowers, potters, jewellery makers and the like. It was great. I think I enjoyed it a bit more because I had a drink or four at the hotel and felt a bit tipsy.  ;D

Patrick and his partner Bridget got into the semi-finals of the jive but didn't get past round one of the tango.  They learn dancing at school so they compete against other schools as well.  They also get taught line dancing, The Macarena and Nutbush :D  My youngest boy just flatly refused to do it.  His words "I'm not dancing with a smelly girl!"  ;D  Our school came 2nd overall in the competition.

We went to see a play at the college-a comedy called "The Rivals". It wasn't the best preformace they have done but it wasn't there worst either. We were going to go out to dinner but we were a bit early and the resterants were closed. So we came home. We will go out to dinner another day.

Hot Cross Buns...

Today I am flying to Melbourne with my family for a week.  The weather will be cooler which will make a nice change.  Going to visit family but we are planning to act like real tourists. :D

I've been sick for 3 days and feeling a little better today. Might try to get out and get some fresh air! And post here, since I haven't been on here in 3 days.  :)
