Right after Hogan turned on Savage. I think they were fighting over leadership of NWO.
can't remember the exact year but it must have been around 98-99.

The Rumble looks interesting... my prediction for the rumble will have to wait until after Armaggedon.. well ok i will explain.
Basically if Eddie Guerrero or The Undertaker wins, then i think it will be either one of them that lost or Booker T. (I wanna see RVD win but he won't)
However if it is a Raw winner, i would like to see Jericho win it.. and i can actually see him doing so.
He isn't involved in anything big at the moment, and Vince ain't that stupid, he knows Jericho is a big draw.
I expect for JBL to probably cheat his way to keeping his title at Armageddon.I think JBL is starting to be a title hog just like HHH is now. ::)

Since when? As far as I can figure it, Hogan is just as good now as he ever was, but that's because he never could wrestle. He was just a magician with the crowd.
That's very much it. Hogan was not there for wrestling in it's technical form (though I know he can wrestle and have seen him do it). He may be a crap actor outside the ring but he puts a performance on selling his opponents moves before the hulk-up.
I believe his lack of in-ring imagination is probably what makes audiences like him as well. It's all familiar and safe to the fans.

I am going to predict that at New Years Revelouiton 6 men will enter the Elimination Chamber.
Triple H, Edge, Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and then either a returning Kane, (it's too early for a HBK return) or maybe somebody like Maven or with any luck Christian.

You are right, Howard. It wouldn't work because before 1998, the WWF had a different mentality (focusing on role models and heros). When Steve Austin became the anti-hero in 1997, role models and heros in their proper sense were no more.

I liked the idea that wrestlers had stable motives for what they did and everything was done in context. For example, Spike Dudley turns from being the runt of the litter to 'Little Napolean' without any kind of character development. Once you have watched ECW, the idea of D-Von and Bubba Ray following Spike's every whim seems all the more ludicrous.
I couldn't imagine 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan, 'Ravashing' Rick Rude or The Ultimate Warrior changing personalities!
By the way, is it me or does the Armageddon P-P-V card look pretty awful?

RVD & Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Dupree & Suziki
RVD is out first along with his partner Rey Mysterio Jr. This match is for the tag team titles and next out we have Suziki and Dupree. RVD leads off as he hammers on Suziki, but then quickly gets Rey Jr. tagged in. Rey takes a knee to the midsection as he is grounded to the mat and Dupree is tagged in.
RVD finally gets the tag and he hammers on both members of Suziki/Dupree connection. RVD tosses Dupree back into the ring and Rey Jr. goes to work on him.
Double team by RVD and Rey Jr. with a monkeyflip and kick to the chin and pin attempt, but Dupree is able to kick out.
Finally Dupree gains the advantage and sends Rey Jr. to the outside. He then goes on the offense against RVD and tags in Suziki when he returns to the ring apron.
Suziki locks in a reverse chin lock in the middle of the ring as Rey tries to get the crowd up to help RVD fight out of the move.
RVD delivers a kick to the jaw of Kenzo and gets over to Rey for the tag. Mysterio hammers on Dupree now in the corner as he runs in. Dupree is able to take advantage when the referee is distracted and they gain the advantage.
Torrie Wilson runs out to the ring apron to aid RVD & Rey Mysterio from outside interference. Dupree continues to work on Rey Mysterio on the inside of the ring. Dupree places a knee in the small of Rey’s back.
The crowd tries to rally Mysterio as Suziki now works him over in the middle of the ring. Rey tries to get to the corner, but Dupree is able to cut him off and then turns around and delivers a cheap shot to RVD which sends him off the corner. As RVD tries to crawl into the ring and return the favor the referee is distracted and a double team ensues.
Suziki nails Rey with a huge right hand. They now have Rey backed into their corner. Rey Jr. is still in the ring and is hurting. He hasn’t been able to make a tag in quite sometime. Finally Rey hits the hunacanrana and he tries to make the tag. He finally does and RVD hits the ring taking out Dupree. RVD hits a moonsault and goes for the cover, but Dupree is able to kick out.
Rolling Thunder by RVD and then a cover attempt, but Kenzo breaks up the count. Rey finally is able to aid RVD as he hits a double 619 on both Kenzo and Dupree. Then RVD goes up top and hits the frogsplash and the champions retain the titles in tonight’s opening matchup.
Winners: Rey Mysterio & RVD
Kurt Angle vs. Santa Clause
Kurt Angle’s music hits as he is escorted to the ring with two armed security guards. Angle tells us that he is going to put his gold medal on the line tonight in a match with Santa Clause. Santa Clause hits the ring wearing his suit and with a bag of gifts.
Angle tells Santa that he “does not like him†because all his daughter only wants to write to Santa Clause. Angle hits the olympic slam and an ankle lock on Santa as Santa taps out. Not quite sure what that was all about.
Winner: Kurt Angle

Tough Enough Boxing
Next up is the Tough Enough Boxing Match as they recap the entire show up until this point. I will try to do this round by round as each round is one minute long.
Miznan is first out to the ring, wearing his boxing trunks and gloves. Next out is Puder. They have a boxing referee for this and are using boxing rules, such as no knockdown rule etc…
Round one begins and headgear will be used. The guys are going nuts on one another…Miznan actually has done well and Puder goes down, but the referee ruled it a slip. They are slugging at one another pretty hard.
Round 2 begins and Miznan comes out firing and Puder catches him on the back of the head. Not alot of action, because they look to be tiring. It looks as though Puder won that round. Puder did get a sucker punch in however.
Round 3 starts and Miznan is out of breath, but he is giving it his all. He is really laying all out there and is actually doing very well, because he was not supposed to win this thing. Puder got one good shot in and Miznan got some small shots in.
Since there was no knockdown the crowd gets to choose the winner.
It was somewhat close on the crowd reaction, but they give it to Daniel Puder.
As i expected, Puder is talented.. let's see how he goes

1.7 buy rate for The Survivor Series!?! Shocking! They want to make the whole thing a grand 4 on 4 elimination contests thing and then get enough decent tag teams to make those classic 10 team matches. I bet they won't get a 1.7 crappy buy-rate for that!

I thought about this too, SkyLowLow. You are probably right. With the amount of money they pay on pyrotechnics and the like, I can't see how a P-P-V every two weeks is going to make this up. Especially when people will realise the whole idea is boring and will refuse to pay for it (me being one of them).

The WWE tag team division has been pitiful ever since 1991 (tellingly, when The Hart Foundation split up after Wrestlemania 7). The main problem is that the WWE seem to lump any old Tom, Dick or Harry with each other and make the fans swallow it. I doubt we will ever have another Demolition, Rockers or Hart Foundation ever again because the whole thing is based on chemistry. If the chemistry or conviction isn't there between wrestlers then what's the point?
I long for the WWE tag team hey-dey of 1987/1988. Here is how much things have changed, at Royal Rumble 1989, 8 tag teams entered the battle royal and that's excluding The Hart Foundation and The Fabulous Rougeaus who had a 2-3 falls match the same night! That's some tag team rosta (admittedly, Hulk and Machoman were a tag team but at least, as The Megapowers, they were singles wrestlers who tagged up for a length of time for a reason).

Here is how much things have changed, at Royal Rumble 1989, 8 tag teams entered the battle royal and that's excluding The Hart Foundation and The Fabulous Rougeaus who had a 2-3 falls match the same night! That's some tag team rosta (admittedly, Hulk and Machoman were a tag team but at least, as The Megapowers, they were singles wrestlers who tagged up for a length of time for a reason).
tag teams seem to break up for some stupidass reason.EGOS! ::)

He's is still pretty popular, although I have noticed some backlash from the attempt to become undertaker again. Personally I don't think anyone is going to go the way of Terry Funk. He's an anomally.
His matches are brutal, he has no cartalige in his knees, and he won't retire completely until he he can't walk.

It wouldn't be quite 15 years though, Howard. I am being a little pedantic but his debut was around November 1990. That means he ought to retire at The Survivor Series next year - and not come back as a biker.

Well I was just saying in 2005 it will be 15 years.I understand his debut was November 1990 so I'm thinking they should give him a good sendoff with a tribute to Mark Calloway(The Undertaker) on Smackdown.

The trouble with giving The Undertaker a send-off is that he is supposed to be a wrestler without sentiment or emotion, especially since he has reverted back to his old gimmick.
I think messing The Undertaker up with that 'Bad Ass' gimmick was the worst thing the WWE could have done with him. Even his special move looked inferior (The Tombstone was much more impressive than The Last Ride).

Continuity errors are always going to occur in wrestling. One of my favourites is the one between Jake Roberts and Rick Martel. The two feuded with a passion from 1990 to Wrestlemania 7. Come the run-up to Wrestlemania 8, who is on Jake Roberts side in a wrestling quiz? Rick Martel!

There was no continuity errors in that feud, Howard. It seemed that, at least in P-P-V, the two have not even met each other after Jake left the WWF after Wrestlemania 8 (even when Jake came back in 1996 and left around 1997).

Basically after over 2 years of not seeing his daughter, Jake decides that he has to go to 'sleep' before he even talks to her. The next day he talks to her for a short amount of time. She is a bitter physchology student who was ignored as a child.
My impression of either of them was lukewarm as people. But to see Jake's relationship with his Dad was pretty strange and it goes to show that it's easier to be a father if you have one.
Other than that, he smokes crack in front of the camera and goes into a little monologue about his life and how he got there. The movie does a piece on him coming to a small town and his thoughts on the locals meeting the 'Great' Jake "the Snake" Roberts.ÂÂ
Overall, it was pretty entertaining.

Roughly. It got more noticeable around 1990/1 though.
My favourite Jake Robert's storyline was definitely him against Rick Martel. There was a straight-forward motive (Martel squirted 'Arrogance' perfume in Jake's eyes) and followed up with Jake getting treated by a medic which culminated in The Blindfold Match at Wrestlemania 7. It wasn't what I would call a wrestling classic but it was certainly entertaining and an ideal way of blowing off the feud.

Mordecai,John Layfield,Bikini Contests,etc...I don't know what's going on with Vince but WWF is getting to be a borefest once again. The ratings seem to tumble more and no one's tuning in! I think Great American Bash should be called Great American Trash! >:( :P

Wrestling today is pure crap. Give me the Von Erichs/FreeBirds, Iceman King Parsons, etc any day of the week.....wrestling back in those days proved you didn't need a cheesy gimmick or stupid storyline to sell a match.
Vince relys waaaaay too much on "eye candy" (the divas) to distract us from the fact that the finished product sucks.

Heh heh. I'm just repeating the angst that almost every true wrestling fan has while watching the WWE and now defunct WCW. I just started watching wrestling NWA-TNA on TWC and I am concerned that it is heading in the same way WCW did - In fact, there are a few similarities it's quite uncanny (Mike Tenay announcing, Jeff Jarrett's control over the federation etc). I may be behind on things but there was a big build-up to a Jeff Jarrett/AJ Styles match for a P-P-V but it was executed so ridiculously, that I was put off the match (Jeff Jarrett unconvincingly storming into a radio show and beating up a disc-jockey and millions of interviews from wrestlers that are hardly involved in the match took place in strange surroundings . . .) With a bit more thought, subtlety and a sense of adventure, this match could have been booked to an explosive conclusion.
I have started to get into the Japanese wrestling (especially NOAH and New Japan). These guys do wrestling in a big way - the intensity is incredible and it looks like they put the wrestling before pandering to the crowd. ;)
It's my opinion that the low-budget federations (the indy feds) do a better show than WWE. They have to rely on their wrestling skills, whereas WWE could just have the divas dance around for 2 hours, and still get the same results as before because of "brand marketing".

Well stated.....Eugene is just another generic "lunatic". Hurricane looks like a page from a Marvel comic book (which is where it should remain).....I have a hard time taking anybody named "Rosey" seriously.
At least John Layfeld is going by his given name.

Ring of Honor and FWA are pretty good and I enjoy watching the Japanese wrestling. They put on a better show than the WWE has done as of late (to the point of not caring about the P-P-Vs). However, as usual I look forward to The Royal Rumble - which has got better in recent years (despite still being as predictable as ever).

Yeah. The sexual orientation of the WWE started around 1998 when the 'Attitude' era began. Sable and Deborah McMichael started the whole thing off. I used to hate Deborah's teasing because, the way I saw it, it's half-way house. Either they do what they suggest they are going to do or don't show it. The WWE are wanting their demographic cake and eating it.

It's so funny how you have a thing against Hogan but Flairs your man.

LOL...
Flair isn't my man... in fact im sure you will be able to find one or two posts where i rag on him.. it's just that he is the logical opponent for Hogan (in my opinion).
There is no way you can say Flair isn't talented, yeah he is past it now, but it pisses me off to this day that Hogan the moving sack of crap recives accolade after accolade because he was shoved down peoples throats whereas Flair was pushed to the back when Wrestling went mainstream and wasn't bought to the forefront again until he was reaching the end of his career.
Flair vs Steamboat is arguably the greatest match EVER... compare that to some of Hogans apparent greatest matches. The Ultimate challenge was good in my opinion.. because Warrior made it good.. Hogan was always Flairs lesser.. it just seems that the powers that used to be didnt figure that out.

I absolutely think Falir is one of the most over-hyped wrestlers today. I really do not appreciate what he or his company stood at the time when he was most lucrative. The way I figure it, he was a champion so many times because he was such a company stooge that he might have been the most trust-worthy to put-over when needed.
In fact, I have the Steamboat vs. Flair match on my computer and while it was good, I wouldn't place either Hogan or Flair anywhere near the top of my list in my favorite technical matches. As much as it might frustrate you Flair never has or never will receive the kind of Pop that Hogan did. Which just goes to show why wrestling is so great to watch, there are so many things that you can look for and respect in wrestlers.
So instead of discussing this topic, which will debated forever I suppose, lets compile some of our own favorite moments:
Best "Pop" in a match:
- Hogan vs. Rock (Crowd Reaction = Absolutely Shocking)
- Goldberg vs. Nash (Goldberg's first loss, Nash received huge credibility and hatred for the cheat)
- Flair vs Steamboat (Lot of good matches, title change being the best)
- Santana vs. Hammer (For the IC, crowd was more nervous than boisterous, until the title changed)
- Shawn Michaels vs. Anyone (Love him or Hate him, everyone knew where they stood)
- Hogan vs. Andre the Giant WM III (Andre was all but crippled, fortunately the crowd did not know how much)
- Demolition vs. Strike Force ( I actually watched this title change on television! Can you beleive that!)
- Hogan vs. Warrior (Title change in the middle of the ring, the crowd erupted for Warrior)
- Undertaker vs. Mankind Hell in the Cell (We can still hear about it constantly)
- Superfly Snuka vs. Don Maraco Steel Cage (The one where Snuka jumped off the top of the cage)
Best "Technical Matches:
- Jerhico vs. HHH (For the United Title)
- Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels 3 falls match (Great, great Match)
- Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart Steel Cage for title
- Sgt. Slaughter vs. Pat Patterson (can't remember the name of this one but it's a 'bloody' classic)
- Eddie vs. Chavo (they just have chemistry working together or against each other)
Worst Title Holders:
- JBL (Not too many gonna argue with me on this one)
- CCC (Apple shmapple... or should I say Apple Snapple?)
- Bob Backlund (Man oh man was wrestling hurting when this man was at the thrown)
Best Heavyweight Title Holders:
- Flair (Let the Flair vs. Hogan debates continue)
- Hogan (or let them stop, either way I'm happy)
- Harley Race
- Bruno Sammartino
Best IC Title Holders:
- Shawn Michaels
- Bret Hart
- 70's/80's Tito Santana
- Ultimate Warrior
Add or subtract to this, anyone :)

Some other amazing Technical Matches.. ok
Take your pick of Super Crazy vs Tajiri matches from the mid to late 90's in ECW
Juventued Guerrera vs Rey Mysterio at Big Ass Extreme Bash
Savage vs Steamboat... this one told an amazing story as the match went on
Dusty Rhodes vs Tully Blanchard (again there are several great ones the best being there ladder match in '87)
I can think of loads from Japan (where technical wrestling takes the front seat whilst 'sports entertainment' takes the back seat)
These involve Jericho, Malenko (arguably one of the best technicals ever) Jerry Lynn and others...

Amazing how I could forget about guys like Malenko when I'm putting down technical matches.
But I just wouldn't have the time to put in all the exceptional lightweight matches I have witnessed over the years. My favorites continue to be Ultimo Dragon and Psychosis.

Hart Foundation V Brain Busters (Summerslam 1989 - opening match for crying out loud!)
Rockers V Orient Express (Royal Rumble 1991 - opening match again for crying out loud - what is the matter with WWF/E?)
Bret Hart V Gosh! Mr Perfect (Summerslam 1991) Roddy Piper (Wrestlemania 8) British Bulldog (Summerslam 1992)
Roddy Piper V 'Ravashing' Rick Rude - Cage match (Saturday Night Main Event)
Bret Hart V Owen Hart (Wrestlemania 10)
WCW
Four man match (I think it was Juventud Guerrero, Blitzkreig, Psychosis and Billy Kidman) - Nitro
ECW
Chris Candido V Tommy Rogers (November to Remember 1997)
Almost anything with Jerry Lynn in it
Almost anything with Rob Van Dam in it
Scaffold match - Tommy Dreamer V 'Prime Time' Brian Lee (1996 I think)
Super Crazy V Yoshiro Tajiri V Little Guido (I think this was Anarchy Rulz 1999 but Guilty as Charged 1999 was a cracker as well!)

There have been rumours. I'm not sure. I believe it would depend on how badly Bret needs the money.
Bret's fine for money, he's actually doing very well in a Canadian production of Alladin that has gotten good reviews and he is constantly on television. He is really a homegrown hero up here.
He has, in fact, squashed his fued with MacMahon. To his credit, Vince came by to see Bret a few times since Owen, and then after Bret's bike accident that caused his stroke. They were recently in negotiations for a Bret Hart DVD, which should be coming out sometime soon. Vince needs to do something to help rinse the bad taste in most of Canadian's mouth since SS 97' and having Hart in the next Wrestlemania woud be nice. But, since he will never wrestle again (one thing I am sure of) they need to find a decent place for him.
I bet Vince didn't have a clue that doing to Bret what he has done to countless other wrestlers would have had such terrible reprocussions, but it did here.
So you definately can't fully count out the Hitman.

They are excellent. I have all of them to date (except the Fab Four/Manchester double because I think that is rubbish and won't help my collection one little bit).
I have Wrestlemania 1 - 4 on DVD, Royal Rumble 1989 - 1992, King of the Ring 1993 - 1994, Survivor Series 1987 & 1988, Summerslam 1988 & 1989 and In Your House 1 and 2. I'm looking forward to the end of February because that's when Wrestlemania's 5 & 6 come out (at last - I'm sure 'Mania 7 & 8 will follow shortly).

It would be nice to see one last match between the pair. I think my favourite match of theirs was probably Survivor Series 1992 when the whole idea of two men, both leaving their tag team careers behind, to face each other for the IC title.
I am one of the rare people that didn't think their iron man match at Wrestlemania 12 was the best ever.

Tyson Tomko & Christian vs. Eugene & William Regal
The event kicks off LIVE from Puerto Rico.(heads up Carlos) Tyson Tomko and Christian are making their way to the ring to get this night underway. William Regal & Eugene are next out to the ring. It looks like there is a nice crowd on hand tonight for the Pay Per view.
Eugene is in the ring and is terrorizing Christian and gives him a wedgie. Eugene has on a “Hulkster†shirt. Christian finally gets it going and attacks Eugene and then locks on a side headlock. Eugene is all over the ring, running around outside saying hello to the fans among other things. Eugene finally gets back in the ring where he knocks Tomko out of the ring and almost rolls up Christian. He then goes for the airplane spin. Tomko finally gets in while the ref is distracted and knocks Eugene to the ground and now Christian takes control of the match.
Tomko gets the tag and he is now back in the ring. Quickly Christian is back in the ring and he “hulk†up and blocks Christian’s offensive attempts. He then makes the tag to William Regal, but Regal runs into Tomko who almost takes his head off with a big clothesline.
Tomko then lands an elbow and goes for a quick cover, but Regal is able to kick out. Tomko now isolates Regal in the corner with his front face lock and takes control of the match. Regal’s nose is busted open. Ross comments that he would be surprised if it was not broken. Regal is still in trouble as Christian and Tomko continue to work on him. Tomko hits a back body flip. Regal continues to bleed out of his nose. Regal finally gets a knee up and gets some offense, but Christian gets in a cheap shot which stops all of that.
Regal almost gets a tag, but he is pulled back in the ring by Tomko. Regal again gets free and is trying to get to the right corner to make the tag. Regal just can’t make the tag. He keeps going to the wrong corner. Regal is barely able to stand, but somehow makes a tag to Eugene.
Eugene is in the ring and scoring with several right hands as he ducks a clothesline. He then hits a dropkick. Eugene looks like he hurt his leg as he is barely able to get the rollup pin to retain the title for his team. That ending seemed to be botched, so Eugene may have really hurt his leg in that match.
Winner: William Regal & Eugene

They show Christy Hemme outside by the pool in her bikini earlier today talking about everyone being down in Puerto Rico.
King and Ross talk about the upcoming Women’s Championship match, that looks like it will be up next.
Trish comes out wearing all black and looking very nice and she is followed by Lita who is wearing a pink top with camo pants.
Lita vs. Trish Stratus
Lita quickly sends Trish over the ropes and out to the floor. Lita takes a huge leap through the ropes and now she is holding her knee. No offense, but Lita’s boobs are about to pop out of her top as you can see below. I can’t tell if Lita really hurt her leg, but it looks like it may also be a legit injury as she can barely stand also.
Trish is now hammering away on Lita’s other leg in the middle of the ring. Trish goes for a quick cover, but Lita is able to kick out. They continue to show the replay of the injury to Lita. It looks like it may be legit. Trish then quickly pins Lita now. It looks like the injury may be legit as Lita was not even able to stand up. People are now out in the ring looking at Lita’s leg.
Winner: Trish
Not sure if that was a botched match either, but I would be willing to bet that Lita is hurt. That match was VERY quick as you can take a look at the replay and see where her leg buckles. They are trying to help her out of the ring as I type this now.
Back outside we see Maria taking off her clothes by the pool. We get a good look at her. Backstage we see Edge trying to convince Eric Bischoff to let him out of the Elimination Chamber tonight and let Christian in his place, but only under the circumstances that Edge gets a shot at the title tomorrow night on RAW. Bischoff says NO. Edge argues that there is no way HBK will let him win this match tonight. We then see HBK walk backstage, saying he is gonna call tonight’s match down the middle.
Shelton Benjamin vs. Maven
Shelton Benjamin makes his way down to the ring. Maven makes his way down to the ring next for this IC Title matchup. It appears that Eugene’s injury was legit. Ross just announced he has a dislocated kneecap. You can check out the injury via the live images below. As this match gets started, Shelton gets the fans into the match as they start to really get on Maven’s case. Maven gets out of the ring and walks around the outside.
Maven goes and gets on the microphone. He says that he can’t understand what they are saying? He tell’s Shelton he will deal with him in a minute. Maven then makes fun of the crowd and say’s he will talk real slow for them. He tells the crowd he can’t concentrate with them screaming. This is nothing more than a time killer if you ask me. They are running short on time because of the previous two injuries that occured. Maven continues to mouth off saying he is gonna leave the ring etc…
Maven pretends that he is leaving and then quickly jumps back in the ring, but as he does, he is rolled up and pinned by Shelton. That was VERY quick.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin
Maven then gets on the microphone and say’s that did not happen. He want’s a REMATCH right now. He then taunts Benjamin saying they now have “two women’s champions.†Maven acts like he is disgusted because of what has happened. Shelton starts to walk back towards the ring. Shelton runs back to the ring and hits a T-Bone suplex and defeats Maven again!
Winner: Shelton Benjamin
Looks like they are giving the Elimination chamber plenty of time

It will be somewhat of a screw.. special ref matches always are.
Well considering that 3 matches have already come and gone and there is only Kane v Snitksy left as a real match. Hassan vs Lawler won't go on more than 10 minuets.. i can assume we shall see an hour or so long main event. Superb.. WWE aren't totally stupid, they know that all this PPV is.. is the elimination chamber the fueds have been built up for months and that they can't screw with it.

Hassan vs. Jerry Lawler
Hassan hits the ring first, followed by Jerry Lawler. J.R. has left the announce booth, so we have no announcer for this match, which is weird. Lawler gets in a bit of offense as this match starts off slowly. The King is able to get in some offense. Hassan tries to take the turnbuckle off the top rope, but as he does, Lawler rolls him up. The ref was distracted so he was unable to make a count.
Hassan now gets advantage in the match and goes for a quick cover, but Lawler is able to kick out.
Hassan now hooks Lawler into a submission move in the middle of the ring. It looks to be a version of the camel clutch, but he lets Lawler out of it. He then continues to beat down Lawler.
Hassan goes for a cover, but Lawler is able to kick out. Hassan now hits a suplex in the middle of the ring for another cover. Lawler finally begins to fight out, but as he does Hassan counters and again goes for another cover attempt. Hassan then hooks on a reverse neck breaker as Lawler is laid out in the middle of the ring. Hassan then sends Lawler into the turnbuckle and the crowd begins to chant boring, as this match is very slow paced.
Hassan nails Lawler with a right hand, but Lawler fights it off and looks upset. He begins to “hulk†up and nails Hassan with a few bigshots. Lawler then hits a nice dropkick. Lawler goes to the second rope and hits Hassan, but Hassan is able to kick out.
Lawler almost gets a 3 count, but Hassan gets a leg on the rope. Lawler then goes on the outside, but gets distracted and when he gets back in the ring is decked and covered for three.
Winner: Hussan
Yeah less than 10 mins

Well now the elimination chamber was an amazing match right.. however.. have a wild guess who won... ohhh dosen't take much guessing to say TRIPLE H does it.. Bullsheesh my friends.. we now know for sure who controls this promotion.
Going in to this match he has consistantly been getting no crowd reaction, his ring work has been stiff and his promos have been lacking. Yeah yeah you can say oh well HHH is the standard bearer, he will have to be in the mania main event. Yeah whatever, face it, there are a good 6-7 people who are.. for lack of better words.. BETTER! Than he is.
Haitch, we are all on to your game.. drop it.

I'm with you all the way on this one. HHH has never been a good wrestler. He started mediocre and has just got bigger in physique. IMO Foley, Rock and Austin have carried him through matches in the past and I'll never forget that under-a-minute job he did for The Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania 12! Hmm . . . Maybe this is why HHH is in the limelight these days - because McMahon never forgot HHH's selfless job for the Warrior. ::)
HHH = Sports no entertainment
As for New Jack, I wonder if they will allow him to fly off the balcony like he did in ECW? I regard New Jack as a garbage wrestler (wrestler who wrestles mainly in weapon hardcore matches) so to see him wrestle would be interesting.
Yes, I remember hearing about that. A bit stupid really.

When Randy Orton made his debut in the WWE a few years ago, it was shoved down everyone's throat that he was a "third generation" this, and a "third generation" that. Heck, Jim Ross kept spewing out his family history until he was blue in the face. While JR may have informed the newer viewers about the Orton family tree and the past in-ring exploits of Randy's father and grandfather - Bob Orton Sr. and "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr. - it seems he forgot to mention one infamous family member. Most families usually have that one "wacky" uncle running around, and Randy's clan is certainly no different. JR may have forgotten about him, but anybody who followed the WWF in the 80's definitely never will. He is this week's Jobber Of The Week - from the fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada - Barry O.
Here is a little story about the infamous Barry O.

Well, it's one of two things to me: either Mick Foley is coming out of retirement or maybe the WWE are brave enough to enter the territory of barbed wire matches (in fact, Wrestlemania 14 was to have a barbed wire match - New age outlaws V Mick Foley/Terry Funk. Last minute changes became the introduction of the dumpster match).
I have only seen two barbed wire matches. Cactus Jack V Sandman which is pretty good and Terry Funk V Sabu (which really was a mess of a match - it ended up with both men locked together in barbed wire).

Just watched the Rise and Fall of ECW and man oh man have I got a new respect for Heyman. Not particularily how he ran the company, but how he treated a lot of the stars.
Not enough on Lance Storm, but I guess that makes sense even though he was a multi, multi, multi, champion in WCW and WWE he only felt heat for a short amount of time.
Anyways, it let me see a little bit more of New Jack, and I take it back. I don't think he will really be a factor in WWE. They just would not let things slide like they did in ECW.
Great Movie though.

I certainly can believe that was Scott Steiner Skylowlow but that is because I have been watching wrestling since 1991. In fact, The Steiner Brothers were certainly a contributing factor to why I love wrestling so much (that was until Steiner turned stupid and became 'Big Poppa Pump' (did anyone in the business realise how stupid that sounds?)).
Lance Storm was great in ECW.
You may unfortunately be right on the New Jack issue. They may allow him to blade on a regular basis but that is probably it. I mean, look at what they did to the man himself, Tommy Dreamer?

That man can do it all, Howard. I've seen him pick up a lot of heat as 'Mr Monday night'.

Just looks at the WWE Talent that used to be in ECW... Raven, left because he was underused.. aldo montoya.. need i say anymore...RVD.. forced to use the same move set every weekl, no wonder people are bored... Tommy Dreamer, he is now just a walking punch bag, or was until he became a trainer.. Steve Richards.. stevie heat?... Rhyno lost in the midcard and there are more.
Taz was really the only one that got a proper push and then of coure he ended up hurt.
I think, despite The Dudley Boys, Tajiri has faired quite well in the WWE - but he is so mediocre, it hurts. Andy, we need to give wrestling fans an education . . . ;D

BRING BACK FONZIE! If there is anybody that you can hate on sight it's Bill Alfonso. Have RVD & Sabu team up, reak havoc on the Tag divison, attack Taz (who is such a face now), and then fued with Eddie Guerrero and maybe... oh hell Tajiri (he and Eddie were a great team) Oh yes what an angle that would be. Thursday evenings would be A'OK!

Fonzie was such a headcase. You wouldn't believe he had a cameo at Wrestlemania 9 as a referee checking under the ring after the Crush V Doink 'match'.

When you understand that the heels have to come across as effectively as the faces, that's when you truly appreciate the wrestlers.

Saying that.. it is easier to get Heat alll you have to do is act like a jerk (which face it anybody can do) and you will get booed.
