Nature, in the broadest sense, is equivalent to the natural world, physical world, or material world. "Nature" refers to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general. It ranges in scale from the subatomic to the cosmic.

Reform school in the United States was a term used to define, often somewhat euphemistically, what was often essentially a penal institution for boys, generally teenagers.

Those years were before my time, as I wasn't born till '80... but I do know about events that occurred during that time (around the world, in the US, and in sports), as well as certain music that was released, and bands that were popular.

Duran Duran also continued to have success in the 90's with hits like "Come Undone" and "Ordinary World", but they were not as productive as they were during their heyday (mainly due to personnel changes and things like that)... but all five original members reunited in 2004.

Thursday also started the year 2009, but that was a common year, and anytime a common year starts on a Thursday, the month diagram for February is a perfect rectangle when the dates are arranged in the standard Sunday through Saturday format; it's the only possible scenario in which the fifth row is not used. This will happen again in 2015.

In 1948 the Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XIV Olympiad, were an international multi-sport event which was held in London, United Kingdom. After a 12 year hiatus because of World War II, these were the first Summer Olympics since the 1936 Games in Berlin. The 1940 Games had been scheduled for Tokyo, and then Helsinki; the 1944 Games had been provisionally planned for London.

In 1969, the San Diego Padres and Montreal Expos became new teams in MLB's National League, and the Kansas City Royals and Seattle Pilots (relocated to Milwaukee the following year to become the Brewers) became new teams in MLB's American League. A stroke was the cause of death for former US President Richard Nixon in 1994; he had been living in New Jersey towards the end of his life, but was taken to a hospital in New York City where he died on April the 22nd. He was buried clear across the country in Yorba Linda, California, near his presidential library and museum, on the 27th, in a memorial service which then-President Bill Clinton attended, as did all four ex-presidents who were still alive at the time, namely Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush.
