Since the early seventies, only two MLB teams have won back-to-back-to-back World Series championships (that is, "three-peats"): the Oakland A's (from 1972-74) and the New York Yankees (from 1998-2000). A fourth straight title for the NYY was averted in Game Seven of the 2001 World Series by the Arizona Diamondbacks, who jumped all over Mariano Rivera in the ninth inning of that game.

"Dreams" was the title of several different popular songs. Fleetwood Mac had a big hit with such a song from their album Rumours in 1977; the Cranberries had a song with that title in the mid-1990's; and Van Halen released one in 1986, shortly after Sammy Hagar joined the band.

The Band was an acclaimed and influential rock group. The original group consisted of Canadians Rick Danko (bass guitar, double bass, fiddle, trombone, vocals), Garth Hudson (keyboard instruments, saxophones, trumpet), Richard Manuel (piano, drums, baritone saxophone, vocals), Robbie Robertson (guitar), and American Levon Helm (drums, mandolin, guitar, vocals). All five members were notable musicians in their own right.

President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, which may not be part of the contiguous states, but it is a U.S. state nonetheless. So he is the first president to be born outside the continental USA (that is, the 48 contiguous states), which doesn't include Hawaii and Alaska.
