2001 A Space Odyssey is quite possibly the most boring film ever made.... the only film that comes close to it is the original version of Solaris

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Solaris is a movie I haven't seen or heard of before.

Before George Clooney starred in the remake of Solaris, he was Dr. Ross on ER.  :-*

Right now I am listening to a CD by John Lennon.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 07/11/09 at 12:58 am

John Lennon sang lead on many of the Beatles' early recordings; Paul McCartney also shared lead vocal duties...and I think George Harrison also did some singing here and there.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: Frank on 07/11/09 at 1:03 am

Here and there Ringo also did some singing, songs like "Yellow Submarine" and "With a little help from my friends", but mostly John and Paul sang

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 07/11/09 at 1:05 am

John and Paul sang most of the Beatles' songs...even though all members did share vocals. They all played an instrument, too!

They all played an instrument, too and they were the greatest band ever, by far. No one even comes close.

Oldies stations today have the best music.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 07/11/09 at 6:13 pm

The best music is made by the best performers of music; I agree that there are lots of old songs that fit that category...although some oldies stations don't seem to play them anymore....that's why we have Youtube now!

Vacation all I ever wanted; Vacation having to get away; Vacation meant to spent alone- now those are lyrics I can relate to!

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

I can relate to those lyrics too; everytime I hear that particular Go-Go's song, I think about relaxation...even when I'm busy doing stuff and I hear it.

now I wonder if Jeff has never used the phrase "just because" its a stand in because it can mean so many different things... because I can, because I want to, because i said so, because I should, because I feel like, because I need to, because they made me do it.... .you know... just because.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: snozberries on 07/12/09 at 8:54 pm

Open a book now and you might find yourself reading again.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: snozberries on 07/12/09 at 8:57 pm

reading again would be fun if only I had the time.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 07/12/09 at 9:33 pm

The time to read again would probably be when you are on vacation again...whenever that is.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: snozberries on 07/12/09 at 9:34 pm

that is not something I do very often....or ever even.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 07/12/09 at 9:37 pm

Even once in a while I'm sure you could probably read one book...but depending on how much time it takes, you could read part of it now and another part of it later...but there may be some disadvantages to that. :-\\

In the near future I don't really see a vacation in my plans. The only place I want to go is FLA for the Harry Potter themed Universal...but that's not yet completed... then there's the sticky business of I don't like to fly and I don't have a whole lot of expendable income!

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Too is often confused with to, but when used in context they are two completely different words.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: snozberries on 07/13/09 at 12:33 am

Words are often used incorrectly. Another example of two words people often confuse are they're and their. The first is to be used when two are more people are in the act of doing something. The second is the possessive form of the word. It's quite annoying when people do this but I remain quiet because I don't want to be perceived as rude.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 07/13/09 at 11:30 am

I don't want to be perceived as rude, either...but sometimes it bothers me when common words are so misused. However, I have learned to remain quiet about it, especially in informal situations.

We have to wait a long time for that, I suppose. But I already know that several classic TV shows have been DVD-released, as well as some more recent programs such as Friends.

The best of my junior high years would be a toss up between 7th grade (1992-93) and 8th grade (1993-94), since those were the only two years that I was in junior high. The 6th grade was still elementary school for me, as most junior high schools in Los Angeles had not yet converted to middle by the start of the 1991-92 academic year.
