In late 1989 I was in the sixth grade, and it was one of those years (school-wise) I would rather forget.

Written By: nally on 04/01/09 at 3:17 pm
I would rather forget parts of my life during that time period as well; I was in 4th grade at the time and had a pain-in-the-butt teacher who didn't seem to think very highly of me for some unknown reason.

Bed too long will not fit in room.
Subject: Re: Fantastic word game
Written By: nally on 04/02/09 at 11:27 am
Room - that is, space - must be available for a bed to fit in a bedroom; for example, you do not want to put a king-size bed in a room that is too small.

to put a king-size bed in a room that is too small is odd, but that's exactly what we have

The neighbours of mine often have guests who like to park their cars in front of our home, something I am not entirely comfortable with...but I know that since it's a public street, anyone has the right to park there....just as long as they don't block other people's driveways; that kind of thing is forbidden.

Of course, former Cubs players, like Bill Buckner, screwed up the postseason for other teams.
Subject: Re: Fantastic word game
Written By: nally on 05/25/09 at 11:02 pm
Other teams such as the Redsox, that is...as Mr. Buckner was a member of the Red Sox in 1986, when he let the World Championship slip away.....so the Sox would need to wait yet another 18 years before finally winning the championship.
Subject: Re: Fantastic word game
Written By: Indy Gent on 05/25/09 at 11:06 pm
Winning the championship mean you need to play at least 11 games during the playoffs.
Subject: Re: Fantastic word game
Written By: nally on 05/25/09 at 11:09 pm
The playoffs in baseball consist of 3 rounds - the Division Series (best 3 of 5), the Championship Series (best 4 of 7), and the World Series (4 of 7), so yes, that is true; the team that goes all the way must play at least 11 games (and win them all), and at most 19.
Subject: Re: Fantastic word game
Written By: Indy Gent on 05/25/09 at 11:11 pm
19 just seems to be such an odd number, they should increase the first round to a best-of-7.
Subject: Re: Fantastic word game
Written By: nally on 05/25/09 at 11:18 pm
A best-of-7 requirement in the Division Series would increase the number of required wins to 12, and the maximum number of games (to be played by one team) to 21, which is also an odd number, but at least it isn't prime like 19 is.
