My husband would triple this fudge... HE seems to Hate cyclist, especially those riding on busy roads, at night, wearing black....  His blood pressure just seems to rise as soon as he sees them. He always wants to hit them with the mirror, or reach out and grab them.  He thinks they belong on a bike path - and that is it.... :-\\

The police now say that even adults can ride on the pavements as long as they aren't causing a nuisance/are riding sensibly.  I was encouraged to ride on the pavement with James by a police officer the other week.  We still ride on the road because it's easier than trying to get James to safely dodge pedestrians if I'm honest!

That lady was traveling at great speed for a bicycle, and therefore not riding sensibly, I could had always stepped out into the road to avoid her, but that would had been dangerous for me.

Really???  When I was growing up, I remember bike riding was allowed in town on the sidewalks, till a kid hit a pregnant woman and caused her to abort....  I haven't seen anywhere around that allows bikes, rollerskates, or skateboards on sidewalks now.

Dittoed! I've encountered people like that in grocery stores as well...including one time when a person moved their cart so that it blocked the flow of traffic (which I'm not gonna get into) ::) :P

I will second the fudge to young derek (am I the only one actually giving him fudge?)  he's not a member of the club and he is a member of the boards but I'm going to break the rules and say this...

1) that shaken cat in his sig line annoys the crap out of me.. it gives me a headache if I leave it on the screen too long.
2) his topics bore me
3) he has yet to (in the posts I've seen) offer any substantial or relavant point of view or opinion on anything

To be pedantic, the Eagle Watch Spammer is just that - a spambot.  It's a Markov Chain text generator, likely a variation of Dissociated Press.  There's no AI involved; I had a half-decent implemenation running on a 12-MHz '286 back in the late 80s.  

By contrast, the Philip Eno post in that thread is a MadLib riff on a human-written story at the core of this epic random story generator - the first version of that text that I encountered featured Ecco the Dolphin.  (As long as I'm posting the spoilers, if we ever get bored of the 350 Chevy Small Block, I'd consider the the-elite.net Randumbness Story Generator a good fallback option.)

Oh yeah.  If it weren't for The Punching Bag, I wouldn't have found the 5-year-old thread that made me look up the difference between the two versions of that 1989 Milky Way commercial, where someone else explained that one was from the US and the other was from the UK.  So as tempting as it is, I'm pulling my punch for another night and cutting the guy some slack.  If he gets bored and bails on us, so be it.  If he turns into a contributor, so much the better.
