Why the floor? That would be considered littering, wouldn't it? It's not good to throw anything on the floor; it makes for a not-so-nice environment.
So I smite Howard for littering.

You realize you could have also thrown it away somewhere, like in a recycle bin? Or if you can't find one of those, just a trash can? I'm sure you can find circular files just about anywhere.

Howard... You always complain about the people who leave the fliers in the bottom of the wagons, and what slobs they are... Don't you think there is someone who is picking up the the bus (probably the driver), complaining about all the paper on the bus. You should never leave it on the floor or the seat. Then it is just another person's job to pick up. You should either offer it to someone (I'm done reading this, does anyone want this paper), or throw it away yourself. How many of the Pathmark customers think, I'll just leave this flier here for someone else. Then they become a problem for you. You are doing the same thing, but as long as it is not a problem for you, you do not care.

I've seen them add 15% for large groups and I think that's fair that they have a large group and they are afraid of gettting stiffed on the tip... but they cheat themselves because for good service I am a very, very good tipper

I didn't notice it until this morning when I was checking my balance. The receipt they brought me didn't automatically add it, it had a space for write in that I put a 0 in. The bill was $33 and the charge on the card was $39. They are crediting the additional $6.92 to my card. 8)

Many places round here add 18% for a large group. One place added 18% to the bill, then tried to add 18% again to anyone who paid by credit card. (We'd split the bill equally and said put $35 on each card).

No, but I had a doctor's appointment in Encino this afternoon, which my mom accompanied me to. On the way back home we ran into some stop-n-go traffic in Thousand Oaks. I didn't drive because we had the other car today. If we'd had the Camry I could've tried driving again.

Also, on the way over there, we'd heard on the traffic report on the radio that there was a big accident on the S/B 101 somewhere in Encino (but they didn't specify which exit) that was backing up traffic into Woodland Hills, so we got off the freeway at Topanga Canyon (and that offramp merges with Ventura Blvd, which we took the rest of the way) since we could already see a huge backup. And that worked to our advantage because if we'd stayed on the freeway we'd undoubtedly be late for my appointment.

Me too. However, as we got closer to our destination (which is near a California Pizza Kitchen restaurant), the traffic got thicker, and I got worried that we might not make it quite on time (but thankfully we did). I also noticed in the 16700 block that a certain Mexican restaurant that we used to eat at is now gone; a car dealership is in its place (and has expanded).

i know!! I 2nd that smite. As well as the ones we know are good but close unexpectedly.
Last month my mom had to go to UCLA Medical Center for a doctors appointment so we went there via Pacific Coast Highway, and she told me that there was a Good Earth restaurant near there (actually close to the parking structure which she normally parks in), even pointing to the building where it was after we parked the car...but I couldn't find it anywhere. "Okay I give up. What am I supposed to be looking at?" is what I asked. Then my mom was shocked to find out that the Good Earth had abruptly disappeared in favor of some place whose name I now forget.

I wonder if all good earths went away cuz there was one in Santa barbara but it closed too.
oh yes, I remember that one so well! We loved traveling up there to eat, especially on Saturday mornings for breakfast. It was a nice place both inside and out. However it must've closed sometime in 2005, cuz the last time we ever went there was in December 2004, and my mom found out in late 2005 that it was gone.
However, there is still one in Studio City, at 12345 Ventura Blvd (which as far as I know is still there), but the only time I ever ate there was in March 1994 with my mom.
