I don't even know what you're talking about. :-\\
The only "Six Flags" I am familiar with is the theme-park system, which includes Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbour in southern California.
It's the new 6 Flags commercial with the angry chinese guy barking out "6 Flags more fun". ::)

I have practically finished with watching television in general.
Whenever I am watching a program on TV and a commercial break comes on, I just change the channel to something else, and eventually return to the program I am originally watching.
The one channel I have been watching lately that doesn't show commercials is Disney Channel. During their "commercial breaks", they usually have some brief throw-ins, including a 'short' series called "As The Bell Rings."

Why, yes! I remember the TV sets with dual knobs to the right of the picture screen. The top knob was for VHF channels, and the bottom knob was for UHF. To access the UHF channels, one would turn the VHF knob to the 'U' (which was between 13 and 2).
And that V-shaped antenna thingy was called "rabbit ears". http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/02/BUNNY.gif

Yes I've heard about that. Fortunately for us, we have digital cable so we don't need to worry about that.
Our first TV set (which we had for most of the 80's) had one knob, with all the VHF channels (2 through 13), and six spots for UHF channels ("U1" through "U6"), which we could customize ourselves. However, due to our location at the time, we never picked up UHF channels very well at all...except for KCET (a PBS affiliate, channel 28) occasionally. That TV set conked out at the beginning of 1989, but we were able to get it repaired...however, we got rid of it permanently in 1995.

When I have an opportunity to take a digital photo of one of our old pictures (I have counted three that have our old TV in them), I will share it with you. (One picture is from 1982, one is from 1986, and the other is from 1988. The TV set is not the central focus of the picture, though. It just happens to be in the background.)

In the United Kingdom, the X certificate was issued between 1951 and 1982 by the British Board of Film Censors. It was introduced as a result of the Wheare Report on film censorship. From 1951 to 1970, it meant "Suitable for those aged 16 and over", and from 1970 to 1982 it was redefined as meaning "Suitable for those aged 18 and over." The X certificate was replaced in 1982 by the 18 certificate.

For a long time, however, I was reluctant to see an R movie, since many of them had truckloads of violence/blood&guts/etc., but sometimes an R movie has lots of humor. Even after we first got cable, in 2001, Nick still had some good shows on at night, mostly from up through the 70's (such as "All In The Family" and "Jeffersons"). Then sometime shortly thereafter, they went into the 80's with shows like "Cheers".

I think we have a copy of it here at home; maybe I'll take some time to read it. I honestly cannot remember when (or if) I read it.

Seriously? How could you have acquired two of them?
We have hundreds of books at home (maybe even close to a thousand); I don't think we have duplicates of any of them.

Oh, so that's how you got a duplicate copy. I see now.
On the subject of acquiring duplicate items...
For my 9th birthday, I acquired two copies of the movie E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial on video as presents. I think two of my third-grade friends knew I liked the movie but didn't own a copy of it....so they each gave me one. And I have kept both copies for the past 19 years.

He did?
I do know that later in the 80's, he starred in a 15-minute movie entitled "Captain Eo", which was shown exclusively at Disney theme parks from 1986 to about 1989.

Concerning ET, the British author Jeffrey Archer turned down the chance to write the adaptation of the film for the book version.
