We studied their history, and their impact on what is now the state of California. (At the time they were built, beginning in the late 1700's, the land was still owned by Mexico, since California did not enter U.S. statheood until 1850.)
20 years ago I was in the 4th grade, and even though it was a rather dismal school year for me, there were some good things that came out of it. Like studying the California missions...and even visiting one on a field trip (namely, the San Fernando mission, since it was closest) on Groundhog Day of that year with my class.
Also, each of us in the class was assigned to build a model of a specific mission; I had to build a model of the "San Francisco de Solano"; I used sugarcubes to build the walls, and wooden sticks to make the tile roofs.
Cool!
Lots of missions down in California.
Our church visits the mission here once a month and we siong songs and preach a gospel message. Sometimes my wife goes to help prepare set up tables for them to eat.

maybe from the picture right now, but that looks grassy, I cant keep anything grassy cool enough to look nice if it doesn't die on me. It's going to be a field of snapdragons and lupine and a passion vine will be put on the trellis. This left section in my current picture is my fall and winter part sun section.

Enjoy. I haven't been to a wedding in years.
I last went to one in early 2000. My second-cousin married a guy who turned out to be a cheater.
One of my other second-cousins (a guy) married a young woman who works in the field of medicine; this was almost two years ago...but I couldn't go because the wedding was in Reno and I had to stay home that weekend to take care of our dog. And study, because I was getting close to graduating at the time.

We expect to have to do loads of work on ours when we move back. Dai and I were making some plans the other day (depending on what we find).
In the front of the house we left it with a rather rickety wooden fence which we'd like to replace with a brick wall. Behind the fence were several spiky spindly shrubs that we will dig up and a sparse lawn that we will dig up and replace with gravel. Also we had a beech hedge just starting to develop. The hedge was planted in 2002 (January 27th to be precise). If we are lucky it will just need a bit of a trim. If we are unlucky it will now be a row of small beech trees andw e'll need to cut them all down and start again.

I'm going to grow me some tomatoes and stuff like that. The lupine that is flowering is against the fence and behind a snapdragon. that tells me all flowers will be grown under the shade thing I'm building (3 4x8 lattis). The rest I'll do some raised beds. You know my dad has three raised beds? don't know what he's planting.

cool I'm not quite sure what my garden is going to look like or whats going to come up and look good. Have to consider the 7 feet of space that get less then 6 hours of sun when October comes. If I put the shade cover in the center of my garden, I'd have about two feet in which I have to make sure they can take part sun otherwise they'll eventually die. Both lupine and snap are full to part sun, guess just throwing the seeds down to see what would happen was the best move I could make so far.

I've been trying to get everything to flower and look pretty. I'm putting them out in more sun to flower now, but hope they aren't going to end up all dead in the summer. I have a not flowering honeysuckle that would probably like to be moved into more sun and my potato bush makes me mad no matter where I move it. yeah so far so good, but that's only a small bit of my 15'. The gerbera gets hot and it's stem droops at about 4:00. I can make it come back with more water but think it would probably like some shade for summer I've been thinking about gazanias and I should be able to put a couple around the gerbera daisy. I've got a small pot of lantana shading it right now and the gerbera daisy is fine. If the wind isn't crazy tomorrow, I got a few more little things to do.

I wish some people would do that with their Walkmans or Ipods or any of those other portable listening devices. They sometimes turn it so loud so that others around 'em can hear it, which is inconsiderate. Plus, it can't be good for their ears at all.

I have one gazania flowering because it's in a pot and I put it at the side of the house in the shade to keep it's foilage green. I also have a little lantana with nice green foilage, but no flowers. I still haven't a clue how to do a lot of the tricks I can probably do with Pantshop Pro. usually just use it to resize the picture when I'm done putting it together on paint.
and yes I've raised rabbits and hares. They wouldn't eat the carrot, just the top.

Yeah, I often use MS Paint as well. Sometimes in my spare time I've used it to play around with images I find online. I've also used MS Photo Editor, which you can do some really neat things with.

That seems strange that they wouldn't eat the carrot itself. :-\\ I wonder why that is??

Our rabbits and hares loved grape leaves too.
