I had mentioned a company a few pages ago in this thread (Abbey Road Chimney Sweeps) and I showed a picture of their work vans but was unable to come up with a closer view of their logo. Last night, as I was reading the webpage of a local radio station, they had a link to coupons for local businesses. Lo and behold...Abbey Road Chimney Sweeps! So I saved the coupon and was able to crop the logo from the coupon and resize it so now you can see their cute logo.

While I agree it's a recognizable name, I don't necessarily agree that it's cashing in. I mean, I don't know *why* they chose Abbey Road for their name, as it has nothing to do with Chimney Sweeping, perhaps if it had something to do with road construction or painting zebra crossing lines or something, I'd think it's piggybacking on the success of the picture. Just my opinion.

Caught a single doing the infamous crossing, and his friend is taking the photo from our angel. It was taken just moments ago at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday April 26th (just in case the people in the picture happen upon this thread)

Is the company in an Abbey Road?
As far as I can tell, it a national franchise. There are other chimney sweeps with the same name in Nebraska, Oregon, Florida and here in Ohio (there are probably others but I really didn't fancy spending the morning researching a service I'm not going to use.)
Here is the company page for my local franchise. Apparently they sometimes show up in top hats. Well dressed chimney sweeps, I must say.
http://www.abbeyroadchimneysweeps.com/companyhistory.html
Don't know how the name originated, whether they were a fan of the album or whether the original company was on an Abbey Road.

I reckon the song involved is 'The long and winding road'.
None of those guys look like McCartney, ... but the pic is THAT bad in exposure ... it's tough to make anybody out.
I'm gonna guess, by the height involved, that the front guy is Sir George Martin.
The two yanks behind (assuming the above) remain a mystery. Phil Spector produced it .. couldn't be one of them ?

When you originally posted the pictures from what turned out to be "Spies Like Us", I was thinking it was something Sir Paul had done of his latest album, for the video for "Spies Like Us" has totally alluded me for all this time.

Cool pic Al, You did good!
I had made a compilation/photoshop pic of the group too back on page 6 of this thread, but when we changed servers, the attachments must not have gone thru because the picture isn't there anymore. I don't have the picture I made, it was on my last computer where both the harddrives got smoked at the same time. :\'(

Your signature picture really helps. If I notice a group preparing to cross, I will try to quickly get to the webpage so that I can catch it on webcam. Now if you ever take that out of your signature, there won't be as many catches. ;D

Now that I can view the Baker Street Webcam in daylight I can see the location, Baker Street Underground Station is on the left, the Tube logo sign can be seen.

Baker Street? Why does that sound familiar? Is that where the Prime Minister lives or is that Scotland Yard address?
What music related event happened here?
Nice one!
