Rain doesn't do too good of a job at washing away crayon marks...although they do eventually go away.

Sometimes it leaves a stain.

Yep, the crayon marks do leave a stain for a while.  I did see a neighbor one time scrub off the marks on the sidewalk in front of her house.

I bet lots of cleaning supplies were used in the process.

Chalk marks (on asphalt) wash away much easier.

I did that too! And the rest of the hopscotch as well. I always drew it with 9 boxes, since that's how I always saw it as painted on schoolyard blacktop.

Not necessarily; as stated above, a ball could bounce away if you tried to toss it. That's why a stone or pebble is often used instead.

I wasn't really good at some of those sports either back in the day, but I did enjoy 'em nonetheless, whether they were in P.E. or at recess. I kindof enjoyed volleyball though. In 2004 I played a little game of it at a young adult picnic, and my side won. That was my first time playing volleyball in maybe ten years (I'm pretty sure I'd played volleyball in P.E. class in junior high), but it was fun to do. And watching it on TV is fun too.

I didn't have cable tv growing up, but I knew some friends who did, so when I went to their houses, I got to see a few.

And now I don't watch Nickelodoeon very much, even at night, since they air much more modern programs now. The only show currently on Nick At Nite that aired in the 90's is "Family Matters", which was mostly on ABC network, except for its final season (1997-98) when it moved to CBS.

I don't think I've watch Nick at all since May 16, 2008, when they aired E.T. at 8pm.

Nickelodoeon doesn't show movies very often these days, but two years ago they did. I remember that one day in particular, since it was shortly before I graduated, and I was trying to take it easy during the weekend. And it was also around that time when I began finding out where certain movies were filmed.

I remember Double Dare on Nickelodeon.

Me too. But I didn't really watch it on Nickelodon, because like I said above, I didn't have cable when I was growing up. It was on broadcast TV (I think syndicated) in the late 80's, hosted by Marc Summers (who has hosted other television programs as well). By the 90's I think it was exclusively Nick.

What happened on that tv program?

I guess they went off the air after a while. I know that it was one of several "kid-oriented" game shows that was on during the late 80's. According to Wikopedia, the original Double Dare ended a long run in the 1992-93 season. (The final episode was filmed in 1992, but aired in early 1993.)

Several years later, I began to watch the reruns of Double Dare on the Nick Games & Sports (GAS) channel...until they went off the air. Brought back some memories

I doubt it. Some people may have links to certain messageboard threads on their Facebook page, but probably not too many to this site.

Or maybe someone found it while looking for a discussion about the Legend Of Zelda, so they found the one thread on this board and told their friends... and they in turn sent the link to others.... who knows?

I for one never played it, but there was a cartoon series about it in the late 80's. It was part of the "Super Mario Brothers Super Show", a children's tv program that aired in 1989 in the US.

I actually decided to take a look at the thread to maybe find a hunch as to why it was being viewed so much; the only reply in it had a picture of the diagram of the "world" in the game. Lots of video games had been like that; I know that the Super Mario series was. You would move the character to the next space in the diagram, and then click the OK button (actually I think it was a start button), and the particular level begins.

Still couldn't figure out why there was lots of viewing traffic just by looking at it. :-\\
