There is actually a Nintendo site where you can play games for free but you need java to do so.

Freecell was the first game I got truly into.

Same here, I began playing it in August 1998, when my mom began working at a new job (which she would keep for only 11 months) and her computer at that office was a laptop with Windows 95 on it. That same month, I began college, and all the computers there ran on Windows 95. I had been accustomed to using Mac computers for the previous few years.

I like playing freecell as well. I have played over 2000 games.

I've played several thousand of them already. Not all 32,000 of the games available through Windows95-98 though. I wanted to prove each and every one of them to be winnable (except for #11982, which has said to be unwinnable), but haven't gotten through 'em all yet. In 1999 or so, I even printed out a list of all the numbers from 1 to 32000, and then began highlighting the numbers of all the games I've played and won.

I have to try #11982 then, but if I lose it will lower my average...

I won't try it until after I've tried all the other 31,999 basic deals. No one has found or confirmed a solution for it yet.

I have absolutely no memories of my life in 1983 (I was 3), but I do have memories of my life in 1985. In fact, I was just looking at some pictures in our photo albums from that year and it brought back some memories...including Easter (which I kinda remember). Some notable events in my life from 1985 that we have pictures of, are.. 1) the time we went to Disneyland (which I think was early in the year; I even made my own version of it at home with my blocks and other toys shortly thereafter); 2) my birthday party; and 3) Halloween in my kindergarten class, when I dressed up as a clown.

I dressed up as a witch for Halloween when I was in kindergarten; one of my old neighbors made the costume for me.  I wore the same costume the following year, in 1st grade.

I went to Disneyland in the summer of '85; I went on all the fast rides at least twice.  ;D  I also still have the Minnie Mouse doll I got as a souvenir packed away somewhere.

I had an anaesthetic given to me before the procedure began, so that I'd be asleep while it was being performed. Before I knew it, it was all over.

Also, I had it done during the summer, so I didn't have to worry about missing school or anything. After maybe three or four days, I could eat normally again.

I had an anaesthetic given to me before the procedure began, so that I'd be asleep while it was being performed. Before I knew it, it was all over.

I remember when I had my teeth taken out and they gave me anaestheia.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out in 1997.  I was sore for a couple of days, but I was OK after that.

Mine weren't really pulled, they were just surgically removed.

I think my mom had hers removed at or around age 20 as well. She has told me that she was sore for quite a while afterwards.

I still have an appointment for the last day of the month, which is a Friday, but I may have to change that appointment because I am starting a job in just a couple days. And unless I can take that day off, I will need to reschedule my appointment for another day.

Of course, I'll be spending less time on this site during the day (on weekdays).

Thanks Philip; I discussed it in reply #300 of the "Let's hear the news" thread for this month. The job is similar to the volunteer work I've been doing for the past five months, only this is a paying job and there'll most likely be more demands. Plus, I'll have to work a full day, which is why my time on here will be very limited.

I get out of bed always at 5:50am.

I have to be up by 5:00am, so that I can shower, eat breakfast, and get ready to leave the house at 6. I need to leave the house by 6:00 so that I can be at the train station to catch the train that leaves at 6:20. Then I travel for close to two hours to get to my destination.

Actually, less than two hours altogether, on the average. I am on the train for about 1 1/2 hours (that is, if it gets to L.A. Union Station on time), and then when I arrive there, I have to go down and catch the subway. There is one that departs Union Station just before 8:00; if I catch that one, I can get to my destination (Wilshire/Normandie) at roughly 8:10, since the subway ride is about 10 to 15 minutes long... and then a one-block walk to the office.

How long did that take you?

Not more than an hour.

Of course, in the afternoon, the shuttle left campus at various times in order to get people to the Northridge station in time to catch the trains that came through there in the afternoon. And it was a 10-minute ride from the campus to the station. One of those times was 4:40pm, and the train I rode to get back home came through Northridge at 5pm, so when the shuttle reached the station at 4:50, it was a 10-minute wait for the train. (Actually 11 minutes, since the train's actual arrival time was 5:01pm.)

Thanks; I'll be getting to bed in just a few. It's now 9:38pm and I need to be up by 5 tomorrow. Getting up on weekday mornings at 5:00 is nothing new to me; I did it all the time when I was going to CSUN during my first couple years there.

Yeah, you get used to it after a while.

So yeah, I got up at 5:00 just about every weekday morning through 2003. (That is, on days I was going to CSUN.) Then beginning in 2004, there were some days when I got up not quite so early, since there was a train leaving here at 7am. I can't ride that one to work, since it gets to L.A. Union Station at approximately 8:30 and I have to be at work before then.

Your commute/daily routine?

My dad has been doing his for 9 years, even though he's worked in the same place for twice that long. The train became an option for commuters around 1992-93, and it has proved quite helpful. Sometime during the 90's, when we were still living at our old home, he began riding the train to work. And it was in the mid-90's when the subway was extended to the west end of downtown L.A., so he could use that to conveniently get to his office.

And besides, on the version of Firefox that I'm using, it underlines unrecognized words in red (kinda like on MS Word), so in case I do accidentally spell something wrong, I can fix it.

I always wrote sloppy when I grew up.

My handwriting tends to be sloppy at times, too. That's because I tend to write things down quickly.

When I grew up, I often wrote big, and had slanted handwriting. Not too long ago I looked at some of my writings from when I was 11 and realized this. By age 12 1/2, I was able to get my hand writing down to a reasonable size, because I wrote a lot, and tried to fit as much as possible on to one line.

They probably are available.

I had lots of other coloring markers over the years, including a set of fluorescent Crayolas. I first saw them in the early 90's and was attracted to the colors themselves, and I bought a set of them in August 1991. All of them eventually ran out of juice.

I found a link with info on them right here.

Colors included: shocking pink, fiery orange, neon yellow, glowing green, electric blue, and hot magenta.

I don't. All the crayons I've ever used smell like wax, mainly because that's what they're made of.

When I was growing up I had sets of many Crayola crayons. When I was 6 I got a set of 48 crayons, and a year later I got a set of 64 crayons. This was in the late 80's. Sometime around then, I think Crayola released a set of 72 crayons, but I didn't get one of those sets.

Well naturally it would... the intense heat melts wax. I guess that's what some kids do when their crayons run low or don't want them anymore. Or something...
