Have you checking if it has a preservation order on it? My parents neighbour got a hefty fine for chopping down a big tree in their garden a couple of months ago. Apparently it's quite a standard thing for them to have now. :-\\

she kept it in her trunk for awhile...and in the back seat for awhile...I dunno, I guess the person gave it to her, and she didn't know what to do with it, so she kept it in the car for the time being. :D

The Red-Nosed Reindeer with the kids. Now I've noticed this many years ago and told the kids to
watch carefully. At the end of the show when the elf is giving umbrellas to the Misfit Toys so they
can float down, he grabs an umbrella, looks at the bird, then tosses the bird out without an umbrella.
Now remember, when Rudolph first got to the Island Of Misfit toys the bird said he was a Misfit because
he can't fly, he swims. That elf sent that poor bird plunging to a horrible death.

No, I've told you before that I'm Catholic.  However my friend invited me to the party, and I didn't want to say no, so I went.  There wasn't some rule that only Jews could attend.  It was like any other holiday party....food, music, drinks.....I had a good time.  I love Jewish food anyway, so this was my chance to score some lox.

and a bunch of time spent with hubby!

For those that don't know - hubby is a career soldier and was just home on leave from Iraq. This was our Christmas.
We also actually got to spend our anniversary together too!!!

Yeah actually, I was thinking about Christmas, I went to find out how much time I could get off from work and was surprised, I should be able to steal at least a couple of weeks over Christmas and New Year so I dare say it'll be a Christmas with my Ma and my old Man.

Srsly. This year was a blur... Or maybe it's been so similar to itself that it just feels like one event.

Yes, I work retail..we already have our fall/Halloween stuff out, our back to school stuff has been out for awhile now. We have Thanksgiving stuff that has been ready to put out, and believe it or not...we have Christmas stuff already in the warehouse!! :o

We already purchased our dated ornament for this year yesterday. Yesterday my mom and I were in the mall and stopped at the Hallmark card store...and we saw that the Christmas ornaments for this year were already being displayed for sale. The one we got this year was a tiny rabbit.

Last December my niece was 9 months and the biggest thrill for her was the boxes and the bows!  Awwww... :)  yea, but now she's um, what's 19 months? A year and a half?  Well, she's more aware of her toys and what is going on around her so we shall have a fun Christmas. I was thinking the other day what I'm going to get her.

I bought a set of glittery plastic snowflake ornaments at a yard sale the other day, that's about as much of Christmas as I'm planning on right now.  ;D

I am thinking about Christmas, but more for the cold weather.  I'd give anything to escape the heat right now

I picked up a few things today. Some High School Musical stuff for Megan (I figured I'd better get these things before they sell out ::) )and some Moon Sand, AquaDots and a ViewMaster for Hunter.

There's this new store that just opened up a few months ago in the Pathmark shopping center,It's called Christmas Plus,Halloween Plus and Drugs Plus.And this store will keep their Christmas/Halloween items on display all year round.

I've been thinking about it a lot, mainly with guilt. We aren't going to California in December. Rice has a lot of stuff to do in school, which will limit his time off, and I don't feel right leaving him alone for the holidays, so we will be in Chicago for Christmas. My family is understandably disappointed about this. It can't be helped, and we'll still have family to hang with (my mom and dad will have my sister and her silly boyfriend to baby, and Rice will have me and the boy), but the guilt still eats at me because I know my dad is pretty much existing to watch the boy grow up. He keeps insisting that he'll fly out here, but I know his back would never allow the four and a half hour flight.

So now I have to find a tree (a small tree) and decorations and all that jazz.

I'm worried that I won't be able to find a small tree. The stores seem to deal in 7 foot trees and above, and all I want is a 4 footer so the boy can decorate it.

I also have a few keepsake ornaments that I brought with me from California: the Santa Claus I made in kindergarten, Jason's first Christmas ornament, my Gone With the Wind collectible ornaments, and a little penguin in a car that I got in fifth grade. :) I don't like those trees that have to look so symmetrical and perfect. I'd rather have a tree with ornaments that have meaning to me and my family. My mom's tree topper is a 40+ year old angel that my grandfather brought back from Germany. She also has an assortment of other ornaments that he brought back. They're gorgeous, and I'm surprised they've survived our family.
