I've seen many different recipes for it.  So I guess it is just depends on what flavors you like best and what liqour is available.

One of the most popular cocktails, a Sex on the Beach is a delicious fruity drink that almost anyone will like. It's a great tropical highball that is wonderful on hot summer nights or afternoons at the beach. Beginning bartenders should place Sex on the Beach on their list of drinks to know.
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 oz vodka
3/4 oz peach schnapps
1/2 oz creme de cassis
2 oz orange juice
2 oz cranberry juice
orange slice for garnish
maraschino cherry for garnish
PREPARATION:
Pour all the ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes.
Shake well.
Strain into a highball glass.
Garnish with the orange slice and maraschino cherry

1 1/2oz vodka

1/2oz chambord raspberry liquer
cranberry juice
orange juice

- Mix all ingredients in cocktail glass. Add cranberry and orange juice to your liking. Serve with some berries.

SEX ON THE BEACH - Cocktail - for the more mature crowd
1 1/4oz absolut citron
1oz strawberry schnapps
5-6oz orange juice
1/4oz cream

- Fill a HiBall glass 1/2full with ice. Add vodka and schnapps. Fill to near the top with orange juice. Add cream and stir.

SEX ON THE BEACH - Shot - The absolute best way to party!
1oz vodka
1oz tripple sec
1oz apple schnapps
1oz peach schnapps
1oz southern comfort
2 1/2oz orange juice
2 1/2oz 7-up
tblsp grenadine syrup

- Mix all ingredients in a pitcher of ice to chill, adding just enough grenadine to color pink. Add orange juice and 7-up. Strain into bottle to serve as shooters or serve whole pitcher with a number of straws for a group

Did his own dangerous stunts, could put us in stitches of laughter, quite acrobatic ('Barnum' stage show)  / good dancer ... and  could sing too ....  famously going  on to become the 'Phantom of the Opera'. An impressive man.  8)

Well, the fact that 'Space Ace' aka Reynolds1863 is in this part of  town tells me the bar has quickly re-opened to sell some new 'rocket -fuel'.  ;D

I suspect you probably DO have a phenomenal voice Wayne, from your previous reports of your successes. So, your talent is not in question.  If he's getting at image .... well, I'm sure there's plenty of examples of people who's image was questionable, yet still became great successes, / house-hold names. Perhaps he's suggesting your style etc; is not distinct enough? I guess then it comes down to plugging away, and hoping to get other contacts / that lucky break ?

As for his insulting you though ... I wonder what you mean by that ... ? If he's just giving his honest opinion ... well, he's entitled to that ... even if he's incorrect / you don't agree.
