I have a pic on my computer I found... it was Nazi Propaganda... it's an arm in a Nazi jacket, stabbing a Bible.. it says "THIS IS THE ENEMY" below it.. it's really cool.. Well, sometimes visual art is the most powerful medium... and there's no other way.. to just go around and say "RELIGION SUCKS!".. that's worse then an image... If I were religious, I'd rather just have to occasionally see an anti-religion image then hear about it all the time.

It all seems the same to me and if visual art is the most powerful wouldn't also be the most hurtfull/offensive? Either way, you shouldn't put down other people's beliefs no matter what you think of them.

Well, some people get offended by art.. some people could get offended by MY avatar, even, if you knew what it represented {songs on that album are about sexual jealousy, pedophilia, homosexuality, etc.}.. art is art, and some people just get offended by it... I've seen a lot of anti-Athiest art and anti-Athiest speech.. but I don't get offended by it. You have your opinions, I have mine... you vocalize them, I might not.. it's their right to say or project something that might offend you..

Well, I've been suicidal... and I put up with ENDLESS cutting and suicide jokes... I've seen images meant to mock depressed people... many things, intended to mock a very serious condition.. I don't let it get to me.

Its a photo from the film "Matewan" which is about the true story of a deadly showdown between coal minor union organizers and coal company operaters/hired guns in Matewan, West Virginia in the 1920s. It might be my all-time favorite film because to me the story is like the embodiment of the struggle for worker's rights(raised in a very pro-union and liberal family), and my roots are in Appalachia. With the recent tragedy the film is very timely..

My current avatar is of this dog my sister and brother in law dogsit. She was up at my sister's when I went to Boston for Christmas. She's a Bernese Moutain Dog, which is a cousin of a St. Bernard and Swiss Mountain Dogs, but not as dribbley. :P She's a beautiful dog. The picture isn't the greatest though. Stella loved me. :P

The reason may be that they are a British band, more specifically from Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Their first two singles have gone straight to number one, and their album was released on Monday and should have no problems getting to the top, seeing as how every music shop i've been to have empty shelves where the album should be! :o
