Yes. My grandma and two of my uncles live in that area. We are roughly 90 minutes away from the actual place we go to.

My daughter and I took a spontaneous trip to Coney Island - we meant to go to the aquarium but ended up at the beach. She loved it! She'd run out of the water and then into the surf saying "Water time!." Then I took her on her first amusement park ride - lame whales that went roung in circles a little bit too fast. It was an awesome day!

Well, I'm trying to win a war with some horrid little demons. They start looking like tiny bean sprouts under the ground...then they stick up really small before turing into a little plant with pink flowers that grow little round balls with spikes all around them. I don't know what they're called but the nursery told me I should pour boiling water on them...not near my plants though...and that should take care of  it. We'll see ::)

Just feeling happy today because it's my mom and dads 51st wedding anniversary. They stopped by my work today to surprise me. I'm just happy that they're still going strong!  :)

I don't seem to be posting on this thread as often as I'd like to, but today something really good happened with my mom. She had been on a low-iodine diet for the past three weeks, but now she's officially off of it now! :D Last February (2004), she'd had thyroid surgery and had to have radioactive iodine treatment three months later, but during the past month — a year after the treatment — she's been kind of "hyperthyroid", so to speak, so she went on a low-iodine diet, and today she went to the doctor to have a scan. I wasn't there, but she called me on the phone this afternoon to say that everything went great with the scan! So this evening we all went out to dinner and had fish. :) (Seafood was one of the things my mom had been restricted from, in addition to dairy foods, and anything with iodized salt in it.)
