I watched the last film in the Love saga on the Hallmark channel. It was really great and I want to see the other films.

And I REALLY wish I could have a line of books that successful!

I think I'm the only person left who hasn't seen this movie.  I take that back, my daughter hasn't watched it either, all the other girls in her class have seen it.
Do you think it's O.K. for a 9 year old girl?

I'm not too worried about the blood, I was more concerned about love/sex scenes.  I thought it was rated R but I checked and it was PG-13.  Didn't want to have that talk just yet.  ;D

I saw it....in the 80s... I thought it sucked but then again I was like 13 so I'm pretty sure it was above me.... I would watch it again so that I can give it a fair assessment.... crap... wasn't I supposed to watch a movie for you? Yeah it was me lol... but seriously, I just meant when you happen to watch it.  I really don't expect you to watch it just for me.  :)  There's no rush at all.

As for Emerald Forest, the reviews are decent... I've pushed it back a few times already, I suppose I have nothing to lose if I don't like it... just pack it back up and send it back. :D

It's been a while since I saw it but I recall that I liked it. Without giving away the plot, it is about the depleting of the Rain Forest and the effect on the people who live there. It it more in depth than that but I don't want to give away the story.

As for us, the last movie we saw was The Dreamers. It was an interesting movie about bizarre people. And A LOT of nudity.

yeah I saw it in the theater. I had my feet planted firmly on the seat in front of me... like I was bracing myself.
Then I pulled my baseball cap low over my eyes and crossed my arms over my face so I just had a small slit to
look thru.  I was so sore by the end of the film but it's one of the few that actually scared me.

funny thing tho... Dean Koontz wrote a book called intensity and the first part- the stuff in the house and what happens immediately after
is almost exactly identical to what happened in the book and the TV they made about it...  I always wondered if Koontz was pissed... but I never checked the credits to see if they mention his book at all... they should...

I liked that one. When I saw that movie with my University friends, we spent the next weekend at a friends cottage trying to figure out which character in their group reminded us of someone in our group, with lots of laughs..and some people had way to much alcohol. Nice memories. I think we did the same thing with the film "The Breakfast club"

I thought the movie was ok but I liked the Breakfast Club better myself. Carlos didn't like St. Elmo's Fire at all and fell asleep during it which was good for me because I didn't have to hear, "This movie sucks" throughout the entire movie.  ::)

We watched Angels & Demons again last night because Carlos fell asleep during it the night before and he wanted to see what he missed. I didn't mind watching it again because I picked up on a lot of things that I missed the first time around. The DVD is now in the mail back to Netflix and we should be getting our next installment of Dark Shadows in a couple of days.  :D ;D ;D ;D

BTW, he does fall asleep during movies/watching t.v. frequently in case you are wondering. Usually his "nap time" is either when Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow is on.  :D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sherlock Holmes (with Robert Downey Jr.) Granted RD is an outstanding actor-and very underrated, but the story sucked. They were not consistent with the story at all. They basically rewrote a bunch of stuff. For someone who doesn't know the stories it may be ok but those of us who do, it was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! And as good as an actor RD is, he just wasn't Jeremy Brett.

A British black comedy film, based on the Burke and Hare murders. Directed by John Landis, the film stars Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis as William Burke and William Hare respectively. It was Landis's first feature film release in twelve years, the last being 1998's Susan's Plan.

One with Candace Cameron and Fred Savage.... 1996. He was sort of convincing as an abusive boyfriend... weird.  (No One Would Tell)

One about the 1996 abduction of Amber Hagerman, the induction of the Amber Alert and how it saved a little girl in Riverside CA the same month the program was initiated here in 2002

"My Cousin Vinny"  I rate it 5 stars even though I'd seen it before.  Fortunately I'd forgotten a lot of it and it was nice to watch again.  One of the funniist parts of the movie was when Joe Pesci said to actor Fred Gwynne who played the judge questions Pesci for what he means when he desribes his clients as "Two Yoots".

I watched "Fargo" last night.  I saw it years ago and again I'd forgotten many parts.  Something I did not know as I read the disclaimer at the beginning of the movie is that it is a true story.  The innocent's names were changed to protect them - those who lost their lives and were part of the bad element had their correct names in the movie and as much as possible was played exactly as it happened.  Another 5 star affair.

Fargo is a must-see!  I didn't know about that deal w/ the true-identities of the guilty, etc.  Interesting.

Did you read about the poor woman that went looking for the money in real life and froze to death?
Spoilers about the movie in the following article.

I took all evening to do it (had to make dinner so I paused it) but finally finished watching a romantic comedy called "The holiday" starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Jack Black, Eli Wallach.  It was good.  Kinda makes me want to have a holiday adventure since family holidays aren't really happening this year... and I didn't even put my tree up this year.  Got my ornaments out, but no tree up from the basement.  Just kinda ran out of holiday spirit..

By the time the movie was released I am sure the snow had come and gone a few times which would have exposed it.  If anyone found that money it would be someone, not talking about it of course and it was probably the spring of that year that it was found by someone.  Sad if someone froze to death looking for it.  Is your source reliable or was the poor woman just daft?

A movie from 1955 that earned Ernest Borgnine his only Oscar.  It was a movie called "Marty."

Yeah, hubby and I really liked it as well.  It was interesting to know that dating and finding the "right" person was just as hard back then as it is today (even though the mode of meeting people is a bit different.)  Also the same pressures of whether parents or friends like the person you are seeing is prevelant even in 1955.  I never heard of the movie before but we were looking for something to watch on Christmas Eve and landed on this movie.

The article was from a newspaper from England, so I really don't know anything about it.  I assume it's a good source.  I read the article all the way through this time, and in reality, the movie was NOT based on real events (even if it did say so in the beginning of the movie) (Apparently it was the Coen Brothers (directors) way of making sarcastic or ironic remarks about how many movies were "based" on real events.)  Also the article said the what the Japanese lady that was assumed died from exposure looking for the money, in reality just came to the area to kill herself (with no real connection to the movie itself after all, and it was just an assumption of the original investigator who linked the death to the movie.)  This world is full of sad stories and unbelievable coincidences.

"Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!"  A must see movie.  I seldom watch animated movies but this is a pure 5 star production.  Lots of humor and a really thrilling plot especially for an animated feature.  I highly recommend viewing it.

I recorded "A Christmas Story" on my DVR yesterday.  I'll be watching it again probably today.  Growing up during the same time period of this movie really takes me back because except for the dogs stealing the turkey almost every event in that movie I lived through.  I really identifiy with it.

I was around 7 or 8 probably for the time period of the movie. I judge this by the things they had and the age of the automobiles in the movie plus the way people acted.  It is a totally different world today.  Those were the good old days.  Too much BS and evil in the world now.  This was a time of innocence in America.  I miss it.

Howard, the latest Harry Potter is good - probably better if you've read the books and know this story.  I liked it, but my daughter liked it better.  I admit I fell asleep toward the end.  It was a late movie.

Saw the tail end of a Marilyn Monroe movie "Don't Bother to Knock".  She could play crazy pretty well.  Sad life that lady had.

Saw the beginning of "Bunny and the Bull" which wasn't too  bad, but I was tired and fell asleep.  I hope to get to see the rest of it sometime.
