A Virgin Among the Living Dead (1973)

not nearly as sensationalist as the cover art would indicate, and not up to jess franco's other contemporaneous output "female vampire" and "justine."

A Little Night Music.
Once again Hollywood had to ruin a beautiful play. >:( >:( >:( WHY WHY WHY do they insist on casting people who can't sing in musicals? http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/11/BangHead.gif http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/11/BangHead.gif http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/11/BangHead.gif And because of that, they have to cut out about half of the songs. Just awful. I really prefer it when they film these wonderful plays on stage-so you can watch it as a play as it was meant to be seen.

The whole Miranda and Steve thing did me in, and then that led to Big and Carrie problems, I was just bummed out... But there were definitely some funny points - I loved Samantha's dog (I want to know how one trains a dog to do that - good boy for humping my leg, here have a treat) ;D ;D ;D

It actually isn't my hometown-I was just born there (because that is where the hospital is). My hometown is actually a place called Wappingers Falls-which is just south of Poughkeepsie. One time I was going through Poughkeepsie with one of my best friends & her husband. Big sign that said, "Poughkeepsie: The Tree City". I made some kind of comment about that and my friend's husband said, "Yeah, "The Tree City"-all tree of them." :D ;D ;D
And no, I didn't see the movie.

It was ok, weird camera angles at the start did my head in and it was a bit formulaic, car chase, boat chase, bike chase, plane chase etc. But the ending was full on Bond at it's best!
Went to see Ghost Town tonight. It was very funny in places, on the whole I enjoyed it.

the only thing about the remake of the omen that's worth watching is the decapitation scene, which is hilarious. other than that, it's exactly like the original, but crappy.

I think I scared people when I saw the first Hills Have Eyes (btw I'm talking the remake - HHE2 I saw was also the remake) anyway I scared people when I saw the first one because all the women in the audience were screaming and I was laughing my ass off...and saying Oh Yeah! real loud ;D It was only the rape scene that disturbed me....
anyway- I wanted to see HHE2 in the theater but my friends wouldn't go with me because I embarrassed them so much the last time so I decided to watch this one in the privacy of my own home where I can cheer for the bloodshed without judgment :-[

Let me guess... Stand and Deliver and American Me...right? both really good movies. Did they show La Vida Loca too?
I just watched La Luna Misma (Under the Same Moon) last month... It was really good.
YES! Both of those, and well, here is a list of what we viewed:
Stand and Deliver
Salt of the Earth
Zoot Suit
Mi Familia
El Norte
The Milagro Beanfield War
Real Women Have Curves
Mi Vida Loca
American Me (We could also choose Blood In/Blood Out, but I chose American Me)
La Bamba
Selena
To be honest, I really liked them all. The ones I'd seen before were La Bamba, Selena and Mi Familia.
That Moon one sounds good, too.

I thought it was really good. The Son didn't like it.
Thing is, it is based on books by Philip Pullman, and the Christian Right in the USofA tried to boycott it. Director Chris Weitz toned it down from the original book, but it still turned out to be a pretty good movie. There are apparently drastic changes from the book to the movie - but what movie follows the book besides Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile?

I liked all of those movies, especially Wall-E, but Eagle Eye was okay. I saw it at the theatre and it was a bit over the top, but decent viewing at the theatre. You could probably buy the story at the theatre, but on the small screen, it probably looks ridiculous.

yeah, i'm thinking about buying it too. 8) there's a commentary track on it i'd really like to listen to/watch, whatever one does to commentary tracks.
and also, pan's labyrinth was one of the movies it reminded me of. it was like pan's labyrinth meets princess bride by way of "the cell." (the cell was actually a crappy movie but a lot of the costumes/set design was a similar kind of awesome...)

Last movie I watched was "Sixteen Candles" on quick play to make sure they didn't f*ck up the soundtrack by replacing the original songs with something else. I hate when they pull that crap. They didn't though, so all is well. 8)

ooooohhh you're the one to ask... didn't Steve cheat on Miranda during the series... I sort of thought, during that period where she was annoyed that he wouldn't grow up he had a one nighter in the bar... I felt the storyline in the movie was a bit of a rehash of old ground...but then again- as we have all learned- I don't always remember things that well...sometimes I think something should have happened and then I take that idea and turn it into a memory. ;D
Home of the Brave. I'm totally going to forget watching this movie a month from now... It wasn't bad (nor was it especially good) but there was very little memorable about it.

Steve didn't cheat on Miranda in the series at all. It wasn't until the movie that he did.
However, they were living together when Steve started dating that other chick - so you could be thinking of that scenario. ;)
As well, they were both dating other people when they hooked up at Brady's birthday - so technically they cheated on their relationships with each other... make any sense? ;D

the two main kids were foster children (and their foster parents were 2 flakes who didn't really care about them). The hotel was an abandoned building in the city...they followed their dog in there and found out that 2 other homeless dogs were living there, then they had the idea to rescue stray dogs all around the city. It was really cute and heartwarming. :)
