The Strangers over the internet.

I didn't want to spend the money to see it in the theaters but I was curious about the movie.  It was available for viewing online so why not.  The quality was crappy and the movie was just as crappy.  Glad I saved my money.

yes, I heard that movie was totally overrated. I'll definitely save my money too..and not bother seeing it.

At the theatre, I last saw The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Very good! Before that, I saw Indiana Jones and before that I saw Ironman. I hate to say it, but I loved IRONMAN over Indy!!

At home, I was watching The Fugitive on DVD.

I finally broke down and watched Norbit with Eddie Murphy.  I avoided it until now cause I heard it was terrible.  Call me strange I sort of enjoyed it.

I think I will wait.  I hate Unbreakable and Signs.  And I was disappointed with the Village plus I figured out the twist 15 minutes into the movie.  He gave it away with dialogue and a not so subtle trick with the soundtrack. I still haven't seen Lady in the Water.

The Happening... no where near as good as Signs or The 6th Sense, but still an effective chiller, particularly the opening twenty minutes, which features some very disturbing images. The message of the film does get very heavy-handed toward the end, and some of the performances are lacking (especially Zoey Deschannel as Mark Wahlberg's wife, who was annoying), but all-in-all, I enjoyed the film's creepiness factor and message of doom...

I saw it over the internet a couple of days ago.  Because of the reviews I was reluctant to spend money on this movie.  I couldn't quite understand what the movie was all about.  What was causing the Happenings?  He left so many holes.  The movie could have been so much better but it just left you hanging.

I get the feeling he didn't like it.

I was good at the start, but I walked out the auditorium disappointed with the film. The duration of it is 93 minutes and I feel there was something missing in it.

You know I never really cared for the first Hellboy.  I thought it was kind of boring.

I like the second for the creatures and the effects.  And Hellboy's character is just so amusing.  I would recommend watching it for those.

Bam! Kapow! Leahy gets roughed up in new Batman movie

July 16, 2008

By PAM BELLUCK The New York Times

The senior senator from Vermont is in a large room packed with people when an unruly citizen bursts in making loud, unreasonable demands.

Anyone can see that a gavel to order is not going to work with this joker. He's harassing people, and he's got a gun.

The senator steps forward. "We're not intimidated by you thugs," he says. The man, saying, "You remind me of my father — I hated my father," grabs the senator's head, and thrusts a knife to his face. The senator freezes, eyes wide.

Not your typical Capitol Hill brouhaha. No, this scene is pure Hollywood, straight out of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight." But that really is the senior senator from Vermont: Patrick J. Leahy — Democrat, Judiciary Committee chairman and lifelong Batman fan — has a cameo in the film and gets to be held at knifepoint by Heath Ledger's Joker.

Bam! Kapow! Biff!

"No matter what they say, I don't wear tights or a cape or a mask," Leahy said in a phone interview. "Not that kind of movie. Not that kind of guy. My wife would have killed me."

The 68-year-old six-term senator says he has been big on Batman since he was 4, when, one Sunday after Mass, his parents stopped at a little drugstore in Montpelier, his hometown, and bought him a comic book for 10 cents.

"I can vaguely picture it," Leahy reminisced. "One of the scenes had Bruce Wayne down in the Bat Cave to work on the Batmobile."

Batman became his favorite superhero because "he has no superpowers," Leahy said. "He had to use his own brains and his own knowledge. He could have had an entirely different life. As a billionaire, he could have done anything."

Leahy had a nonspeaking cameo in the 1997 film "Batman and Robin," did a voice-over for the part of a governor in a Batman cartoon, and wrote the prefaces for a "Batman" anthology and a Batman comic book about the danger of land mines. Once he was spotted doing wheelies on his grandson's toy Batmobile down the long marble hall outside his Senate office.

He donates all Batman earnings to the children's wing of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier.

The library was also the beneficiary of the proceeds from the recent reception and premiere showing of the movie, which sold out for $50 a ticket.

Leahy, who is legally blind in one eye, said his daily trips to the library, then in a basement, made him a precocious reader as a child.

The filming of Leahy's scene in a Chicago restaurant last summer took "all night long," he said. Ledger would "punch or throw me halfway across the room," and Leahy was propped up by another actor "with an arm like an oak tree" who was "brandishing a gun in my face."

It took the senator a couple dozen tries before he got his line right. "We tried it two different ways — one was authoritative, the other one was with a lot of fear in my voice," Leahy said. Ultimately, he was directed to act like the prosecutor he once was, with a take-charge attitude.

So how did Leahy manage to find his character's motivation? Was he thinking of Vice President Dick Cheney, who in 2004 used profanity to curse Leahy on the Senate floor?

"No, I wasn't visualizing Dick Cheney," Leahy said. "They can't use that dialogue in a PG-13 movie."

Wham!

Charlie Wilson's War. I'm still waiting for something to happen. It looked good and had a great cast (Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts) so I thought it was going to be good. But the storyline really sucked. I know it was based on a true story but still...

I said it before and I'll say it again--Mr. Grant was a dashing man!  ;D

Its no Sixth Sense but I liked it better than Signs and Unbreakable (never saw Lady in the Water)

it was a bit flawed  but Betty Buckley is in it and she will make you forget Abby Bradford (Eight is Enough stepmom) in a heart beat.

The second. This is the first time watching it. It was good but like a lot sequels, the first was just a bit better.

Betty Buckley is SO much more than just Abby Bradford. She was the original Grisabella in Cats, Nora Desmond in Sunset Boulevard on Broadway, etc. etc. A very, very talented lady.

okay you know the kid in the park at the beginning of Mannequin?

He also was in that ep of Facts of Life when Tootie took her driver's test using a hearse
and he was on the TV series Brooklyn Bridge with Marion Ross (you've probably never seen it tho)

That kid is Jake Jundeff and I worked with him in 1997  I kept saying... I can't believe I'm being trained by Benny Belinski!  ;D

I am very excited. Showtime aired Touch and Go (Michael Keaton & Maria Concheta Alonso) I have it on VHS but the tape is old so now I can put it on DVD and put it in my ipod!!!!

American Splendor  This is a fantastic movie and would recommend it highly

American Splendor is a 2003 biopic about Harvey Pekar, the author of the American Splendor comic book series. It is in part an adaptation of the comics, which dramatize Pekar's life. It was written and directed by documentarians Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. It stars Paul Giamatti as Pekar and Hope Davis as his wife, Joyce Brabner. However, it also features appearances from Pekar and Brabner themselves (along with Toby Radloff), who discuss their lives, the comic books, and how it feels to be depicted onscreen by actors. It was filmed entirely on location in Cleveland and Lakewood in Ohio

Journey to the Center of the Earth

It was okay. Directors need to realize 3D is nice gimmic but it just looks lame when people are sitting at home watching a 3D movie in 2D... its like stop shoving that crap at the camera you idiot!  The visual effects were cool tho.

Then I watched Charlie Bartlett.  I fell asleep and missed the last 20 minutes so I'm gonna go finish it soon.
