Paris,je t'aime
I liked that one.
Semi-funny true story:
I have very bad hearing, so when I go to theaters to watch something, I will ask for a pair of headphones so that I can actually hear the dialogue of the movie. Not thinking, I requested a pair for this movie. It wasn't until I sat down and the movie started that I remembered the movie is spoken mostly in French (which I do not speak at all). ;D I still wore the headphone anyways, cause it makes the movie music louder too.

We saw about half of The Kingdom, but my hubby got sick and so we left without seeing the end.
We saw Shoot 'em up at the cheap theater the other night. It was full of prespammersite scenarios, but it was acted pretty well and had some funny one-liners. I'm just glad we didn't pay full price to see it.

Attonment. It was good, slow to start but a heart-wrenching ending, and amazingly enough even himself enjoyed it.

We saw a movie called "In the shadow of the moon" tonight. It was totally awesome. All the astronauts that were involved with the space programs to the moon were interviewed (well...I guess I should say most, since Neal Armstrong didn't participate) but the rest of his crew from Apollo 11 gave interviews. It was awesome (I said that), but...like it was.

Let me preface this as saying, I really don't like Westerns all that much, but this was probably the best movie I've seen all year. Everything was good, the cinementography, the acting, the sets, the dialogue, the directing... 2 thumbs up. Apparently it was based on a book by Elmore Leonard, who was a legend in Western genre writing.

Just watched The 40 Year Old Virgin for the first time and laughed my ass off. the ending was pretty stupid, with everyone singing Age Of Aquariius. this is definitely not a family movie. I do not understand why it's "Unrated" ??? just give it an R rating for crying out loud

There's an R version, and an unrated version. Unrated versions of movies don't necessarily mean more explicit stuff (In my experiences, however, they have). It could be something like a scene that was cut out of the original version. They can't rate it, because it wasn't part of the finished rated version.
The last movie I saw was Martian Child. Excellent movie, it was.

oh I see, so perhaps it's a marketing ploy to intice customers who may be expecting a little bit more from that "new scene" and yet, may not be more explicit. what a rip
that movie ^ I've no clue. it's in theatres now?

Yeah, it is. And because I suck at explaining movies...
...Imdb's description is:
Crushed by the death of his fiancée, a writer (Cusack) adopts a 6-year-old boy in an effort to create a family. The boy, who desperately wants a father, is troubled by the idea that he's from Mars.
Hm. It's better than you think.

did you say Cusack ??? John? he's one of my favorites, if it's him, then I want to see it, and I bet Diane would like to too. I can handle seeing movies where guys are crushed by the death of their loved ones. the last one I saw was so heavy & I loved it. Adam Sandler in Reign Over me.

I have to say though I will never come early for a movie again. The scheduled start time was 6:50. The movie started at 7:05. We got in our seats at 6:35 and were inundated with ads from every conceivable source (local lawyers, dentists, real estate agents, etc.) until the previews started. Sufficed to say I now detest Coca-Cola and Verizon (more than I previously did).
At least nobody talked, there were no screaming kids (or even talkers) and nobody's cell phone went off in the theatre. And I didn't slip or get stuck to the floor. All firsts for me. Yay!

Hubby and I saw Lions for Lambs tonight at the theater. I wasn't really looking forward to it, because it's basically about currently politics, the war, how it's reported, and the effect on today's college-age youth (and those that serve in the military.)
It stars alot of good actors/actress, Robert Redford, Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep, who all turned in fine acting jobs. It was well written and had some interesting points made, but really resolved nothing other then examine various viewpoints pertaining to the war.
I liked it though.

if it really scares you basket case is a good movie to calm down with. it's as hilariously ridiculous as dead zone is somber and freaky.

new one or old one? there was an original, a sequel, a remake, and then either a remake of the sequel or a sequel of the remake, depending whether you prefer six or half a dozen.
