For all you Broadway musical lovers out there (and I know there are a few here), I recommend this one. It was filmed on stage (which I always think it the best) and to my surprise David Hasselhoff did an OUTSTANDING preformance. My only disappointment in it was they replaced one song (my favorite from that show-figures) but the cast, the singing, the scenery, everything was FANTASTIC!!!!

much less erudite, my last flick was "confessions of a sorority girl." all right, i'll fess up: i heard alyssa milano was in it, and i figured with a title like that, how could it not be chock full of t n' a? and then i watched it and it's, like, a direct-to-video chick flick melodrama, with, like, NO T&A, and it's all talky and complicated, about an evil chick who goes to a private college and then enlists in a sorority and exacts all this suffering and chaos. and i got all into it, man! it was full of intrigue and betrayal and arson and stuff. but everyone on imdb and on netflix gives it, like 1 star. made me mad. i thought it was pretty cool.

No, I think you are thinking of another movie. This one had Marc Singer, John Amos, Rip Torn, and Tanya Roberts. If you can sit through Tanya Roberts bad acting, the movie wasn't too bad. I would give it about B grade. (Seen better, seen worse).

The Departed and most of Talledega Nights. The Departed was well done, but I can't see it winning an Oscar. Talledega Nights was a bit overdone. It reminded me of a weak live-action version of "Cars." "Cars" was far better, though.

A friend of my hubby's had free preview tickets to see "Ghost Rider" at the theater last night, however they had sold out of seat by the time we got there.  The theater honored our passes and let us see something else for free, so it wasn't a wasted trip afterall.  We saw "Smoking Aces" which was really bloody and violent but actually had a good story, really complicated (lots of characters - and an interesting twist).  So two thumbs up.

My friend says Taxi Driver is a classic and it is rated pretty highly on most movie buff lists.

The only Scorcese movie I've seen is "Goodfellas" and I liked it because of DeNiro and Pesci.  All praise to Joe Pesci!

Goodfellas is so funny in some spots.  The whole "What, do I amuse you?  Am I a clown?" bit gets me every time.  It's not a funny movie, not by any stretch....but that scene makes me bust out laughing.  Kinda wrong.

And I bought Taxi Driver for my dad for Christmas last year since he was whining he didn't have a copy of his own.  He could have watched mine, but he has to have his own copy.  Men.

Fine.  But only for you.  I think we actually have it - I've just never watched the damn thing. 

I thought there were some hilarious moments in The Departed.  When Leo shoots that guy in the knee and he says something like "I'm not in shock!  Aren't I supposed to go into shock?  This effing hurts!"  That killed me.  So bad...yet so good.  ;D

I thought Martin Sheen's accent was hilarious.  I know he was portraying a Bostonian, but he came off more like someone pretending to talk like a Kennedy, and their accent is slightly different than your standard Boston affect.

Goodfellas is so funny in some spots.  The whole "What, do I amuse you?  Am I a clown?" bit gets me every time.  It's not a funny movie, not by any stretch....but that scene makes me bust out laughing.  Kinda wrong.

And I bought Taxi Driver for my dad for Christmas last year since he was whining he didn't have a copy of his own.  He could have watched mine, but he has to have his own copy.  Men. 


Goodfellas not a funny movie? Lol, you might have missed the point of the movie...Taxi Driver is a classic as well - like many 70s movies, the story was deceptively simple - it seemed straightforward enough, yet had endless replay value. The character of Travis Bickle - brought to life by DeNiro (Arguably) at his peak, is one of the most enduring characters in cinema history. I own both DVDs in my very small collection..

I watched Aliens last night. It's kind of the cocoon effect with Sigourney Weaver. In Alien.. she wasn't all that hot.. by Aliens.. she was attractive.. the bald deal in Alien 3 is a bit disconcerting.. but then by Resurrection.. OOOH YEAH!
