On Sunday,  "The Funhouse".  8) An underrated '80's slasher flick that relies on suspense instead of constant gore. Plus, some predictable/corny scenes & a group of trouble making teenagers like any '80's slasher flick of the era. But more watchable while eating popcorn.


Tomorrow: "Beavis & Butt-Head Do America" on MTV2  8)

I watched the last of the three Bad News Bears movies, the one where they go to Japan. It was not good. The first two were cool though.

I watched Saw last night.  It's odd.  And I thought of a million things I would have done different, and it's a bit gory.  Maybe a 2 out of 4 stars movie.

I started watching The 10th Kingdom last night. I say started because it's like 7 hours long! :o I had never even heard of this movie until the other day a friend at work was telling me about it. IMO... WOW, I like it (so far).

I couldn't really be bothered to watch Romeo Must Die, I saw a bit and then just stayed with the other film I was watching, About A Boy, which I preferred..it was great, well worth seeing.

Last film I saw on TV was The Mummy Returns....(I watched The Mummy on the Sci-Fi channel the other week) Good film..missed about 20 minutes..fell asleep, because of the news at 10.30.woke up at 11.20..missed the bit leading up to the Rachel Weiz' character's death, so I didn't see how it happened.  Cracking film though.

Appocalypse now the movie is based on the Joseph Conrad book.  Both have the theme of going deeper and deeper into the jungle and ones "heart" and self getting darker and darker.  All Coppola did was transpose the book from late 1800s Africa to 1970s Vietnam. 

Also, another dead give away of the similarities is that in both the book and movie Kurtz is a character, (well, almost all the characters are in both, but with just different names)....

Basically the plot goes like this: James Brolin and Margot Kidder buy a new house in Amittyville, New York, and then proceed to torture the local priest, whose charactor is a rip off of "The Exercist," until he becomes a vegitable.

But it was very good though...its heartbreaking to see how people used to look at a person with HIV or AIDS, before light was shed on the disease and how its spread...

Yep. I have that on DVD, AL-B. It is a wonderful, if slightly haunting film about a man called Chauncy who watches a lot of TV. People call him Chauncy Gardiner after they mistake his comment about being a gardener. Recommended watch!  :)

a bunch of student films at my colleges film festival.  Some were pretty interesting, but others..I just dont get it..why showcase a film that's just a bunch of inside jokes?

There was one that was entirely inside jokes from movies.  If you didnt know the original movie they were parodying, you wouldnt get it...being a movie buff, i kknew them...others didnt..I had to keep turning to my girlfriend and explaining to her what movie it was parodying. 

I saw Northanger Abbey last night, which is an old Jane Austen movie from the 80s.

The Mists of Avalon-a different telling of the King Arthur story-quite good actually.

It wasn't the best movie I saw but I didn't even think that Fat Albert And The Cosby Kids would jump straight out the cartoon and into the real world and understand new technology like cellphones & laptops.they also couldn't even understand hip-hop videos and the language people spoke today.It was like 1974 for them and 30 years later,whole new surroundings.The Fat Albert jingle from the 70's turned into a rap & hip-hop song.It's good for laughs with Bill Cosby as a cameo but I don't think I'd recommend this film.Keenan Thompson doesn't make a convincing Fat Albert.

alien vs predator. not bad, i guess. could have been better if they went with the original script which was inspired by the dark horse comic series 'alien vs predator'

Excellent movie

I just saw the last half of the 1974 blaxploitation flick "Foxy Brown," starring Pam Grier. Man, that is one f*cked up movie!!!  :o :o :o

^ I saw that and NEVER would have pictured Pam Grier in that movie at all!!

I Watched 'Shallow Hal' on TV Last night. Jack Black.. superb as usual.. but meh the ending was awful.

I thought that movie was funny, too, if a bit heavy on the bathroom humor (It's a guy thing, I know.  Hubby loved it.) Surprisingly enough, critics didn't agree.

White Noise is another one critics didn't like.  Has anyone seen it yet?

the day after...this movie would have been so much better if it was a theatrical movie as opposed to a tv movie. still powerful after 22 years.

We just finished watching The Oddesy.

I just saw "White Line Fever," a 1975 truxploitation movie starring a young Jan Michael-Vincent. No Oscar-caliber acting performances here, nor did the plot have any real subtlety or depth, but the sight of the hero's early 1970's Ford cabover (a.k.a. the Blue Mule) soaring through the air and smashing through a 50-foot tall likeness of the evil corporation's logo at the climax of the film has to rank as one of the all-time great visceral experiences in cinematic history.
