It's finally starting to cool down a bit here; by Thanksgiving it should be a whole lot cooler, with the possibility of rain showers.

I still find it weird that it can be a few degrees below freezing but there isn't any frost or ice because the air is so dry.

It will finally stop raining at 4:00 and I'm going out there to get that plant.  It's got a droopy looking branch.  I don't really have any dry soil or dirt, but I think the sun will dry the plant out as long as I get it in a pot so the water drains out.

They haven't gotten over the devastating ice storm in the western part of the state and now they are expecting another.  There are people who have been without power since last Thursday.  They are expecting another round of ice and snow, making it more difficult to fix what is still broken, and possibly causing more damage.   :(

Don't shovel it that often.  I've tried a little bit but came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the effort.  Soft snow is better to drive on in my opinion than hard-packed nearly cleared stuff.

I live on post and if we dont keep it clean then there are consequences of some sort. Plus i shove it more often so that it doesnt pile up as high because then there is more snow for me to lift.

You can make sure he has a layover in Iowa/Illinois where they have already called off school for tomorrow too (this is the 3rd day off) because the temp in the morning is supposed to be -32 (without windchill).  THIS IS CRAZY COLD :D

It is finally clear here and the sun is trying to break through.

I woke to a complete white out, I couldn't even see the trees across the playground. The Son an I went out and shoveled, we probably accumulated about a foot and a half. Thankfully, it was lake effect snow, so big flakes but very, very light. It only got heavy the closer we got to the ground. ;)

It's 41F out right now and it's 9:37am in California. Not sure what the high is supposed to be today. I think our warm days will be numbered. By Wednesday, we'll be back to 56F as our high. Still not too bad.  8)

It was warm this afternoon.  When we were doing the MLK march (a little over a mile), it was 21 degrees ABOVE 0.  I had driven to the office to do some class work (since they closed and reopen my roster is messed up and I don't have enough photocopies).  Walked to the dorm (probably almost 1/4 mile) where the march started.  Did the march then walked home (Micah was going to pick up the car so she could drive to the soul food dinner tonight).  Just wish FSU had plowed the sidewalks.  ::)

That ain't half of it.  Those same warm winds you're getting....yeah, they're hitting over here, too, except it is going to drop the temps tomorrow to a "freeze your damned balls off" negative 30-40 degrees.  I would LOVE to be in California right now. :P

And our heat lasted about 10 days---a week and a half---all told.

It's almost midnight.  It is 10 F degrees out, but at least the wind has calmed down, so the wind chill is no longer an issue.  It is supposedly going to get up to freezing tomorrow, but until I see it, I will treat it as a trick the forecasters are trying to play on us.

It's around 6 A.M here and it's 29 degrees, but there's a breeze making it feel like 24 degrees.

'Twas on the warm side today (as expected), but it was still a nice day outside. By the end of this week, the rain is supposed to return...but we shall wait and see.

I'm a bit worried about some of our Aussie friends though.. Queensland (esp northeastern part) is getting a lot of rain, causing floodings as I've seen on the news. And now there's a possible tropical cyclone heading their way... :-\\ Not quite sure where it'll hit, and how/if this is gonna affect Brisbane area.

I've just checked with the Queensland weather forecast, and it seems like Brisbane can sleep safely. They don't seem to be getting any rains (just some light showers), and the chances of a tropical cyclone forming are low to moderate (for the next few days).
Heavier rains are restricted to Cairns/Townsville area, as far as I can tell.

There is still rain in the forecast for tomorrow, even though we've had some warm weather these past few days. It's been nice, though. That should probably change tomorrow.

It's warming up here as well.  Though the warmer air also brings some rain with it.

We had lots of rain this morning...but now, in the afternoon, the sun is out again! We're supposed to have more rain this week, but we'll just see how that holds up.
