When your slackness costs you an awesome picture ?

The memory card on my relatively new digital camera .... has been FULL .... for months !  I kept meaning to either buy a new memory card (keep the pix on this one) or stick it on a cd too (I've had it all on my hard drive, as backup, for a while, but just in case, I wanted yet ANOTHER backup).

Well I had FOURTEEN beautiful rainbow lorikeets, all huddled in a very small circle, around  the honey dish ..... feeding at once .... just a couple of feet away.  They usually fight each other off ... but for once ... they all co-operated.

I've seen some great potential pix this week .... but the card being full.

I started looking all over for the instructions to erase the memory card ... but so much clutter.. still haven't found. In the end ... I just started pressing buttons ... formatted it  .. done. But TOO late !   >:(    :(

Procrastination .... for all the joking I make about it .... EVENTUALLY ..... it comes back to bite you !   :-[   :(    :\'(

I also  HATE ... when I submit a post ... than a microsecond after submitting ... notice a GLARING spelling error .... and have to sometimes wait an agonizingly embarrassing minute or so (depending on how sluggish the site is at the time) ... to go in ... and correct it ! ).

E.g. just now ^ was: 'by a new memory card' . Leaving out a friggin 'u' .. cost me .... and then this fricking post ! (Grr !).

One of my flatmates had one, MANY years ago .... and I can confirm that cat poo is / can definitely be  retching in its smell !  (Not that I tried to get anywhere NEAR it ! )

DYHIW you spend the day in and out of the house shoveling and you get up the next day and try to get up the hill but the guy at the top of the hill shoveled his snow into the street so you can't make the crest because of the mess he made.  >:(

Those pills certainly seemed to help, but the legs remained sore, most of the day, as a sort of 'aftermath'.

I think I know which thread you're referring to...but yeah, only the admins should be able to lock/unlock threads. I think that's how it was on the old messageboard; I don't remember a "Lock" option there for regular members.

I lose things,just like I couldn't find my metrocard, just about to get on the bus this morning so I wound up going to a store to buy a new one then the bus was late and called up my work told them I will be very late.When I got home my Metrocard was in one of pjyama pockets. ::)

I only have 2 friends who call my cell phone If I'm on the phone with one of my friends the other one beeps me and I swap calls telling that person I'll call him later but if it's too late I'd call that person the next day.

This one is huge for me...I am sorry if I hurt any feelings.
I HATE IT WHEN...I see a child on a leash walking through the store or mall.  I always tell Tam I wish I could go put it on the parent/guardian and drag them through the store...That is just the Big Nasty in me coming out.

Which would you rather see - a child on reins or a child under a car because it ran away from his/her parents?  That is one reason why I considered using them on my children.

I certainly would rather see the child in reins Karen...However, my son and daughter were never leashed and they just knew better than to run off from me.  I guess your point is good cause A child could surprise a parent and try the boundaries once and once is all it would take.  But is there really a reason to continue to leash them inside the store or mall?

Which would you rather see - a child on reins or a child under a car because it ran away from his/her parents?  That is one reason why I considered using them on my children.
I'll double that - having young toddlers who went to the Iowa State Fair and they wanted to walk sometimes and not always stay in their stroller. 20,000+ questionable people and a runaway toddler - DON"T THINK SO!!!!


I will admit that I do not like seeing parents who are dragging their child with these, but parents who are walking with them - it is safer (especially if said child is unpredictable) and I never used my "leash" in a mall or store.  My kids to this day, grab my hand when we are in the parking lot and that is how it is.  No questions (I did have to be a bad mama - a few times when they were young to lay down the law; for their safety :o) But they do not do anything else now, and they are 5 and 7 - both still small enough that they cannot be seen behind most vehicles.  I will be sad when the day comes that they start questioning holding my hand :\'(

I never used reins more than once or twice but always had a very firm grip on them when crossing roads etc.

my flash button is separate from my talk button. Apparently the button you push on your phone is the same button you push for call waiting...that makes it easy to remember.

My son did get caught in a trance in a Toys R' Us when he was 4.  I realized what had happened so I decided to teach him a lesson he remembers to this day.  I decided to hide around the corner where I could keep an eye on him. He realized I was gone and started wandering around the store looking for me.  I let it go until he started crying, and it never happened again.

DYHIW your kid brings home one of those school fundraiser sales things.  It's not the stuff so much as the prizes and the competition.  Especially in this economy with 700 other kids trying to sell the same damn thing.  Then, if it is like the one this fall, they will send a letter home basically chastising the parents because the kids didn't sell enough.  I understand they get money from these things but they suck.  I wish they would come up with a better way to make money for the schools.

No worse is when you boss is selling the items for their kid...do you buy or do you try to avoid it?

And then there is the prices on these things....WOW

I hate it when the boss does it....except when I was the boss and had a girl scout. ;D  There were only two of us and we split the office.  Around here you need to know a girl scout or you won't get cookies.

The prices are ridiculous.

OUr PTO sent a letter home the other asking us to vote on whether to hold a parents social evening that's usually a fund raiser.  $55 a ticket to chat to people I can talk to for free anytime - I don't think so.
Another problem we have is that just before we moved here a new elementary school opened and they redistricted.  Our school went from 650 to about 350 on the roll.  It's bound to mean less money but the PTO doesn't seem to have grasped that fact yet.  ::)
