I think they should do like a carnival.  Sarah's old school had one every year.  They brought in blow up slides and had games.  Sponsoring companies donated prizes and you bought tickets for the "rides".  I think they would over better.  More people can afford a couple of bucks for rides than can afford $12 for a tub of cookie dough.

I have one at work and it is $10.00 USD for a cup of Sour Patch Kids! The also have stuff with Peanut Butter, illness at no extra charge!

Raffles are illegal in Utah, they liken it to gambling. ::) But they could still do prizes for the games or auction stuff.  The old school had hot dogs, cotton candy and soda to buy as well.  I guess that would take too much sense.

I am sure we aren't the only ones who think Sally Foster sucks. I would rather just give the school the $20 dollars...at least they would get to use the entire $20 not just a portion.

I know what you mean, we went from more jobs than people to perform them to more people than jobs in a matter of months.  I'm really glad I settled in where I am now, if I hadn't I'd be jobless for sure right now, for the first time I am not stressed that my work partner is going on mat leave, just means job security for me.

I told ALL the secretaries that I needed the SAI information for the online classes by March 1.  I told them that in January.  I picked March 1 knowing that I would be getting them all through March, which was fine.  I had TWO secretaries in the same building (different departments) contact me today asking to put classes on.  The one this morning I felt bad for because she sent it in Feb and I didn't get it....so extenuating circumstances.  The one just now has no excuse.  It is going to require creating an entirely new document so that the URL doesn't interfere with the one that went out YESTERDAY.  Seriously, I have a LOT of work that I am behind on without creating unnecessary work for myself and my programmer.

I called today to try and find out what was happening with the hospital bill from when my mum visited in June and had to go to the emergency room.  When I spoke to the insurance company at the beginning of March I was told it was about to be paid.  I called again today and someone said they would check exactly what was happening and call me back.  The office is probably shut by now

It doesn't often get above 95 degrees F. in Oxnard, CA (where I currently live), especially in April, but it does sometimes get like that in Los Angeles. I wouldn't mind 85 out here in the summer time, but it's not summer for 2 more months yet. I did hear on the news this afternoon that things were gonna start cooling down by Wednesday, which should be a good sign.

You let people know 2 weeks in advance that there will be a potluck tomorrow, given a few gentle reminders, and today at 4pm when they say, I'll give you money on the gift, they're suddenly broke... ::)  It's ok, I'll make up the rest.  I always do.  People can just really be inconsiderate sometimes.  The more I know people, the more I love my pets!!

DYHIW someone emails you 15 minutes before you are due to leave to go teach a class the day before you will be out of the office for 2 days (and then the weekend) telling you (and carbon copying Vice Presidents) that you sent out the wrong survey 3-4 weeks ago?  So of course you have to start checking into it immediately and by the time you think you have everything you now have 5 minutes to get across campus.  Then you rush back to the office, find out it was the correct survey, talk w/ a VP in person and your boss by phone, call the faculty member at home all the while gathering "evidence" that it is the correct survey. 

Happy Ending:

I'm still employed and the faculty member emailed me this morning (and cc'd the same people) telling me that I was correct and thanking me for my prompt and professsional behaviors last evening.  There was no apology, but it was still a nice email and at least she sent it to the same ppl so they now know I didn't send the wrong survey.

DYHIW  you take kids to a kids movie, and expect to totally hate it and you DON'T?  I took Matthew along with my friend's kids to go see Hannah Montana The Movie today. I know, that IS crazy!  I ended up actually liking it. I think Jackson is pretty funny-and there were some LOL moments, whether I like admitting it or not.  :)

That's another thing, we don't wanna have to spend extra money for a plumber to have to come out. The last time this happened, which was a month ago, we had a technician come out; he found nothing wrong with the machine. We got the machine 5 years ago in June, so it's under warranty until June of this year. But we may have to replace it before then.

Nope-just codfish & flour. I'm not a big fish person but I do like these-not too fishy taste. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are deep-fried (like most Puerto Rican foods).
