Yeah, Mike ..... this area I'm living in .....  a fair degree of Aboriginals, compared to other parts of Sydney ... and quite working class ... even .... a fair number of unemployed/ older people/ 'battlers' as they refer to them here (low income earners). Seems there's been a fair influx of Asians to the area in recent years .... and I get the impression from SOME of the local white people (generally older school) that they resent their presence. These people are quite successful, hard working, business owners .... so .. probably a bit of jealousy involved ?  ::)

I overheard negative / racial comments a few months back when two Asian women and a man were simply performing their Tai Chi exercises publicly to a 'ghetto blaster' (Chinese music, moderate volume) on the grass nearby. Not at them publicly, but when I entered the building .... about how these people were taking over the area .....  ::)


There does seem  a lot of prejudice  still about in Sydney .......  :-[  :(

Yes, only two of them stand in the way now. One of them is due next Wednesday, but since my professor was out last week, the due date might be pushed back...but I can't count on it. So that's why I must work on it as if the original due date still stands.

I haven't dealt with puppies in a long time....I thought I had everything out of reach.  Just when I think I have everything out of reach,  she finds a new 'toy'. :-\\  And I went to the vet today and she gained another pound...the hog.

And the vet told me that she'll be in the puppy stage until 24 months...she's only 3 !/2 months old.

I know how you feel. Before we adopted Chloe in January 2003, we were looking to adopt a dog, but we tried a couple of different dongs before we found Chloe. Among those dogs was a two-month old chihuahua named Rosie, and we didn't think we could handle keeping a dog from puppyhood. Chloe was about 2 1/2 years old when we adopted her.

She's just slightly better.  Perhaps it will go like that until she's 24 months...some days good, somedays bad.  This afternoon she was out of her cage, not roaming the house, but quietly playing with her toys on the couch while I slept.  Usually I would have to put her in a time-out cage for that.

That happened just now when I was trying to post a reply on another thread. The monitor spontaneously turned itself off, but the power remained on. So I had to restart the machine. All is well now, I hope.
