Well, given the fact that Lil' Georgie's polls are at their lowest, and that "Scooter" has been indicted, and Karl may be next, and given the Harriet Miers fiasco, and Tom DeLay's troubles, and investigations on "cherry picking" intelligence, and buying "news" stories in Iraq for over $100 million etc, the Repugs need to do something spectacular before next year's elections, when the entire house and 1/3rd of the Senate will be replaced. How many of you remember Reagan's fears of an October surprise, and his people's negotiations with Iran (conducted in secret in Paris) to hold the embassy prisoners until after the election (of course Big Georgie - GHWB - was out of the loop - yea, right)?
