Subject: for you sympathizers of 'illegals'....
Written By: saver on 08/10/05 at 8:13 pm
Hey, how about this news uncovered as long as some people are sympathizing with 'illegals' in our country...a nice little loop hole was discovered PERMITTING 'ILLEGAL CITIZENS' to get a tax ID. # which they can use for LOAN PURPOSES to say...oh, BUY A HOUSE maybe IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD..as you DON'T need a SS# to pay taxes,...in turn when you go to a bank for a loan, you can give them a tax ID and they will accept it as no SS# is needed for the application...VERRRRY CRAFTY or STUPID of the American system to leave this loophole open as the US is screaming to crackdown on ILLEGALS-WHICH IS WHAT THEY ARE NO MATTER WHAT SUPPORT GROUP TRIES TO SPIN THEY ARE JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING!!
People upset with this are scrambling to change the pracatice ...gee.....if they close the hole and let federal banks be allowed to choose those with whom the do business, PROTESTING a federal Government for choosing who they do business with would take the wind from protesters arguements. We just don't do business with illegals.

Said scheme would not be possible if the banks did not cooperate. That's why conservatives are always on about how bad banks are and how we must get rid of all the banks! You gotta figure the banks must be controlled by "illegal aliens" 'coz nobody else can do that!

I work in Boston, there were more illegals off of the plane from Ireland than there were Boston residents
working on the Big Dig, no one seemed to care. I go to the North End for great Italian food, the North End is
peopled by illegals and descendants of illegals, no one seems to care, I go to shopping and a large portion of the sales people are Russian(again legal and not so) no one seems to care. Someone speaks Spanish on the job and the hardhat with the sticker that says "speak english or get the f*ck out" gets all red and pissed of about "those people". I know too many illegals that work harder and a better citizens than the detritus that passes for "good american" to care. As a matter of fact if I had my way I would trade one for one for some of the self righteous sluts we have prancing around thinking they are one step better because they are one(two or three) generations removed from the tenement that their forbearers occupied.

Sure immigrants work very hard, look what they left and have their dreams set on..we need to install that in workers here once again...then you will have plenty of 'good' legal workers to pick from when hiring instead of someone who wants something for hardly anything..

Oh, it is not that hard at all.  Trust me here, I have first-hand knowledge of how easy it is.
Remember, when I got married my wife had an "illegal" status.  Her mother, her sister and herself all thought they were legal, because that is what their father told them.  When my ex wanted to get a job, her dad said he would take care of getting a social security card.  It was only when we were getting the paperwork together a month before we got married that she realized that she had in fact been useing her daughter's Social Security card.  She also found out that they were not on a 6 year visa, but were there on a 6 month visitors visa (which had expired 3 years previously).
By that time, she had worked, and even financed a car and had credit cards.  We got her legalized, and she had to start all over again building a credit history.  And her daughter also got letters from the IRS for years, asking for new tax returns (and applications for credit cards).  When she got her first job at 18, she already had 3 years of taxes paid on record and a credit history.  Not to shabby.
Her sister had a totally fraudulent Social Security card.  He paid somebody $50 to get one from a dead person.  All they did was find a recently deceased person with the same first name.  Apply for a replacement card, then apply for a name change.  Of course, this was in the mid 1980's, before the computers came fully on-line.  It was all done by hand back then.
I know somebody who had their SSN used by at least 6 illegals at the same time a few years ago.  They found out because they got audited because there was a $65,000 discrepancy between what he claimed as wages, and what the IRS showed he was making.  He finally had to get a new SSN in order to prevent getting audited every year.
And it does not take cooperation of banks, that is what Identity Theft is. If you apply for a credit card, you just fill in a form and are approved. With that, you go and apply for a car loan. Nobody really checks to see if you are really who you say you are. And identity theft is a multi-billion dollar a year crime. It does not "need the cooperation" of banks, or anybody else.

Yes, there are a lot of hard working "illegals". The argument is that they are doing jobs that "legals" or U.S. citizens do not want. But they don't tell the entire story. They don't say that "legals" or U.S. citizens want to do those jobs for the wage. I'm sure there would be more people willing to shovel out stables or doing housekeeping if they were paid a decent wage and had benefits. But many empoyers want to have cheap labor who will not complain. There are many stories about these "illegals" who are basically slaves to their employers. I think those are the people who the feds should be going after-not the person who came to this country trying to better their situation.

The Boston Irish are some of the most racist people on the face of the Earth. I was born in Boston with an Irish surname, and even I can't stand the f***ers! Not all of 'em, mind you. Let's put it this way. I wouldn't be caught dead in Southie on St. Paddy's day!

I know you're right. I'm just speaking out of negative experiences I've had with my fellows of Hibernian heritage in the general Boston vicinity.

Your experience was the experience of anyone from outside of Southie. I knew people of Irish descent
from Dorchester who wouldn't venture into Southie because they weren't "Southie Irish". I also know many "off of the boat" Irish who wouldn't live in Southie because they found the racism particularly ugly. The off the boaters tended to identify more with the African American population because many were northern Ireland Catholics and received the same treatment from the Protestant power structure as the Boston African Americans here receive from the power structure here. It has gotten considerable better in the past ten years. Many of the old hard liners moved away and the budding arts and upscale communities have moved in to make it possible for me to go over to Castle Island and stroll around and never once be called a racially insensitive word.

To be honest, I have not seen that movie, and I have no intention of seeing it.
If somebody wants to see an even better movie on racism in general, check out "White Man's Burden". If you notice, there are no Hispanics or Asians in the movie at all. That was actually done on purpose, beause the writer (who is of Asian descent) calls them the "Invisible Minority".
And as to "Irish Racism", I know all about that also. When I was young, my grandfather would never call me "Michael". Since that is a "Catholic Irish" name, he would call me "Pete" instead. Needless to say, I was very stubborn and would only respond if he called me by my right name. Finally he gave up. I guess I should be glad he never tried to call me "Mick". 8)

Then again, there are complaints that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has no minorities in it having some scrutinizing over it.....After seeing it, I did see the clerk at the candy store was darker skinned..I gues they are talking about the main kid roles???
Get over it...Along with those who are calling to do away with Washington REDSKINS and other school sports names...If they are that sensitive, Get rid of Chef Boy-r-Dee for making Italians look bad on cheap canned spaghetti !

I don't want even want to know how many "illegals" we have in this country. Its none of my business personally. One thing I do respect about people who come over from other countries is they do work hard and value the oppurtunity to come over to the Us. Alot of people who are born and raised in the US take some stuff for granted. The reason why people come to the US is because people do not make alot of money at their jobs in their home countries.

Blacks don't like watermelon,
whites don't like being in country clubs,
Chinese people don't own laundry stores,
Irish hate drinking and fighting!
Indians hate the casino business,

let alone a Spaniard at a bullfight!

A Pete Seeger song (all of which I can't remember) ended with this: "The sons of the sons of the fighters (for justice) take all for granted, and in turn oppress". How true.
Now here is a piece by Tim Brooks reprinted in this morning's Rutland Herald that makes sense to me.

Talk about DOGS sleeping with the FLEAS...
On the border, protesters are using trucks with bullhorn/speakers to alert the ILLEGAL crossers to move further east to cross as the area is being watched by minutemen..
Last anyone knew Minutemen are STILL using their LEGAL freedom...BUT these protesters MAY NOW BE VIOLATING THE LAW BY INCITING ILLEGAL ACTIVITY!
NOW who's right?

That's David Brooks, right-winger from the NYT, but it's still a good article.
I still say the immigration issue passed down to the hoi poloi from the elites is more about xenophobia, divisiveness, and distraction than it is about actually changing anything.
Illegal immigration is profitable to big business and big aggie. Those interests don't care about welfare or crime, just money for them. They control the economy, they own the politicians, so nothing is going to happen when it comes to serious reform. Not until we wrest control of the state from big money interests. The Minutemen are pacing the boarder for nothing. Joke's on them.

Have either of you ever read the book?
The book is a classic, written by Roald Dahl. He was a Brittish writer, if Norwegian descent.
And if you have read the story, it is set in a lower class London neighborhood in the early 1960's. And in the book, the children come from the US, Germany, and England. For some reason the author never made clear, none of them were "non-white".
And here is another question, what if they had made some of the children minorities? I can imagine the screams if Augustus Gloop was black. Or if Mike Teevee was Asian. What if Veruca Salt was Hispanic? Then there would be people screaming "racism" in yet another way I am sure.
This is a situation where you can't win. My simple response aws "look back at the original material". After all, nobody screams about the lack of black cast members in "Hamlet". And I have never heard somebody complain that it was wrong for everybody to be Hispanic in "Man Of La Mancha". And while we are at it, what is up with all those Jews in every "Passion Play" ever made?
When somebody adapts a book for a movie, they have to take many things into consideration. One of the things they have to look at most is staying true to the source material. I am sure they could change it, make it set in Detroit instead of London. That way, they could have Charlie be a little black boy. But now you no longer have a screenplay, you have a loose story "inspired by" the original. Can you say Adaptation or The Wiz?
(I am not saying that Adaptation or The Wiz are not good movies. They just bare very little resemblance to the original stories)

They have actually changed a few times.
In the original 1964 book, he described them as black pygmies from "the very deepest and darkest part of the African jungle where no white man had been before". But after the release of his book in the US, he changed them to dwarves with "golden-brown hair" and "rosy-white" skin.
In the movie, they were pictured as orange skinned with green hair (I have read a report that it was done to prevent them from being confused with "Munchkins", and to make them more unique then "generic dwarfs".
Of course, they all had to be small. After all, Loompa Land is an uncharted land full of Snozzwangers, Vermicious Knids, and wicked Whangdoodles, three classes of extremely dangerous creatures.

Of course, we should never forget that Willie Wonka is a Capitolist pig, and a class enemy.
He is somebody who places profit above the welfare of his employees. He fired everybody who worked for him, and outsourced his entire production to minorities which he keeps in virtual slavery. Of course, this is a lot cheaper so he makes even more money.
