Report: More Democrat than Republican Operatives Involved in Voter Fraud

A report by a voting rights group regarding allegations of voter fraud, intimidation and suppression during the 2004 presidential election has found that "paid Democrat operatives were far more involved in voter intimidation and suppression activities than were their Republican counterparts during the 2004 presidential election."
The report by the American Center for Voting Rights Legislative Fund found that thousands "were disenfranchised by illegal votes cast and a coordinated effort by members of certain 'nonpartisan' organizations to rig the election system through voter registration fraud in more than a dozen states."
For example, the report noted, paid Democrat operatives were charged with slashing tires on Republican get-out-the-vote vans in Milwaukee, and an Ohio court order stopped Democrat operatives from calling voters and telling them the incorrect date for election and polling place information.
The report also found that a law enforcement task force found "clear evidence of fraud in the Nov. 2 election in Milwaukee" that included hundreds of felons, voters that voted twice, and even thousands more ballots that were cast than actual voters recorded as having voted in the city.
The task force also found multiple indictments and convictions of ACORN workers for voter registration fraud in several states.
Five cities - Philadelphia, Pa.; Milwaukee, Wisc.; Seattle, Wash.; St. Louis, Mo. or East St. Louis, Ill.; and Cleveland, Ohio - were identified as "election fraud 'hot spots' which require additional immediate attention prior to the 2006 elections."
These cities were identified based on the report's findings and the cities' documented history of fraud and intimidation.
The group sent a letter to Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean and Republican Party Chairman Ken Mehlman urging them to formally adopt zero-tolerance policies against fraud and intimidation.
The group also asked both leaders to identify issues of concern in each election fraud "hot spot" by October 1.
"Until political parties and candidates are willing to adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards election fraud, the American public will have little confidence in other reforms," Brian Lunde, ACVR Legislative Fund board member, said in a statement. "There is no room for politics when it comes to the right to vote."
"It should be easy to vote but tough to cheat," said Mark F. "Thor" Hearne, ACVR Legislative Fund Counsel in a statement.
ACV suggested states adopt their "common-sense recommendations," which include requiring photo IDs at the polls, accurate statewide voter registration databases and a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to vote fraud and intimidation.

Please be forewarned:
The American Center for Voting Rights was founded by a lawyer for the Bush/Cheney campaign (Mark F. "Thor" Hearne) and and Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO) only six days before it was called to testify by Republican members of Congress before a House Administration Committee hearing on March 22. It was also the ONLY group invited to testify!
Furthermore, note the main contact for ACVR is also a Republican operative, former communications director for the Republican National Committee Jim Dyke.
Investigator Brad Friedman exposed the ACVR in March:

You will notice from ACVR's own website that their claims are of piddly-sh*t ballot fraud allegations, and charges of corrupt officials buying a few votes here and there. It attacks "get-out-the-vote" type-organizations such as ACT and ACORN and focuses on voting by illegals and felons--pet issues of Republicans. I'm not saying ACVR's charges are 100% false, but they do not address the larger systemic problems of the American voting system. Phony ballots and bought votes here and there are one thing. Voter suppression is quite another.ÂÂ

Chief executive Wally O'Dell of Diebold, the company that makes the voting machines for Ohio, vowing to "deliver Ohio for Bush" is a bigger worry than some bozos registering as "Mary Poppins" and "Jive F. Turkey."
Heck, anyone can send in a phony ballot, even Republicans claiming to be Democrats!
Notice how quickly--I mean within days--of the 2000 election GOP spinmeisters were telling us all the 2000 election was "old news" and we should all just "move on." They said that in the face of evidence of fraud involving then-secretary of state Katharine Harris (now in the House) and Governor Jeb Bush. They still sneer and guffaw at the mention of Florida, but Republicans never disproved the findings by investigative journalists such as Greg Palast.
And yet the "non-partisan" American Center for Voting Rights lives on. Non-partisan? How can an organization founded by
A Republican senator, a Republican presidential campaign lawyer, and a Republican presidental campaign spokesman call itself non-partisan"?
Very sadi indeed, Jimmy Carter got himself caught up in this mess, participating in what became known as the Baker-Carter Election Reform Commission:

Glad I scrolled down befor googling all this. Beyond that, the report is, on its face, absurd, since alalysts of all stripe agree that large voter turnout always helps Democrats, which is why, in the last election, some Repugs publicly stated that they needed to keep voter participation down.
