Subject: Pope Benedict XVI / Saint Benedict's Order "Olivetans" / Gloria Olivae ?
Written By: Johnny_D on 04/19/05 at 11:57 am
Cardinal Ratzinger chose the name Benedict XVI.
Saint Benedict's order is The Olivetans.
St. Malachy prophesied that the next-to-last Pope would be symbolized by the words "Gloria Olivae", which means "Glory of the Olive".

I am not sure what is going to happen after the last Pope, but whoever interpreted the prophecies may have gotten it wrong.
The end may mean the end of the catholic church as we now know it. The world has supposed to have ended many timed already.

Prophecies are a little harder to believe when those involved in them know about the prophecies and are capable of making a concious effort to make the prophecy come true.

Prophesies? Get real.

Prophesies? Get real.
Frankly, I agree with you here Carlos.
I do not believe in "prophecy". I have read all of Nostradamus, and while it is fun, I do not really believe it. The same with Palmistry, Astrology, Numerology, Phrenology, or any other of the pseudo-scientific ways to tell the future. In the same way, I really do not believe in Time Travel, other then the Einstein time-dialation form.
Mostly, I do not believe in pre-destiny. While I believe God (or whatever you call a greater being) does have a "plan". But I do not believe that it is so detailed as to include every action everything on the Earth (and the Universe) does. Basically, I believe in a loose form of plan, with self-determination playing a large part in it.
So St. Malachy, Edgar Cacey, Nostradamus, John The Revelator, and the rest may be fun to read, they are so open to interpretation that it can't be taken seriously.

We're on the same page here, as is often the case.

Observe. I did not say that I believe in those alleged "prophecies". And I carefully put a question-mark at the end of this thread's title.

I like this guy's interpretation of the list. It's really scary, but makes sense. (If they should happen to be real.)

Well, looking at the write up on the prophecy(ies), you may see predictions, I kept seeing..I WAS WRONG I AM FALLIBLE inre; to it being a Black Pope, JPII dying 2003,2004, the next one to die 2009/2010..
Why doesn't this guy use his powers for good and help find the missing kids in Fla. and around the world instead of misreading predictions!

I believe in "predestination" to an extent-I also believe in free will. What I mean is that say you are on a road. If you stay on that road, you will end up at x place (predestination). However, you have the free will to get off that road anytime you want. Does that make sense?
